Susarla Primary Care is a compreshensive primary care practice providing services to the Elgin
area since 1974. The Practice in unique in its comprehensive scope because of specialization in
geriatric medicine,women's health,pediatrics, and weight loss.Our staff and physicians are all
bilingual in Spanish and English. The physicians are available 24/7 to help the patients for any

Preventive medicine is defined by a "branch of medicine in preventing disease". Our practice
focuses on disease prevention by conducting regular blood tests and appropriate counselling for
all age groups. We will routinely check your blood sugar, cholesterol, mammogram, prostate test
and other tests yearly.
Wellness Medicine
Wellness medicine is defined by a state of physical, mental and social well-being. At Susarla
primary care, we practice more than traditional medicine. We offer weight loss, bioidentical
hormones, smoking cessation, and depression screening.
Weight Loss Program
Obesity is a growing problem in the United States. At Susarla Primary Care, we offer many

Geriatric Medicine
The need for geriatric medicine is growing in America as the population ages. Geriatric medicine
is a subspeciality in medicine that focuses on the healthcare for the elderly. Geriatric medicine
includes but not limited to Alzheimers screening, fall prevention, cancer screening, and routine
medical exams.
Women's Health
Women's Health is a discipline that focuses on the overall well being and complete health of
women of all age groups. Well woman exams are performed which includes breast exam, pap
smear, a detailed gynecologic history, routine blood tests, and mammogram. We take care of
women starting in adolescents to senior citizen status.
Men's Health
Men's Health is a discipline that focuses on the overall well being and complete health of women
of all age groups. Male exams are performed which include prostate screening, routine blood
tests, and more.
Biodentical Hormones
Bioidentical hormones are a popular way for men and women to receive hormone
supplementation in the all age groups. A blood spot or salivary test is performed and sent off to
ZRT laboratories. This is analyzed and the results and discussed with your physician. Your
physician will then administer hormone supplementation through a compounding pharmacist.
Bioidentical hormones are NOT FDA approved.
Vaccinations
Routine vaccinations such as the flu shot, pneumovax, are administered regularly. For children,
routine vaccinations are performed depending on the age. (Patient consent is required).
Inpatient Medicine
At Susarla primary care, we take care of our own patients admitted to the hospital. We manage
the patients with specialist consultation as needed.
Nursing Home Medicine
At Susarla primary care, we take care of our own patients in the nursing homes in the Elgin area.
We round at all of the major nursing homes in the Fox Valley area.

Group Visits
About four times a year, we hold group visits for our patients. Group visits are for patients to
come to the office, receive a tutorial on a certain disease process he or she has, and then
educational materials on how to manage the disease process. Topics covered include diabetes,
obesity, hyperlipidemia, and more. Please call the office to see when we are offering our next
group visit.
