MCDM Assignment

The document provides the solution to an assignment question using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to rank eight courses. It includes: 1) The assignment question which asks to rank eight courses using AHP to select the top three for students in semester IV. 2) The AHP model which has four levels - course content, teaching, sub-criteria for teaching, and the eight courses. Pairwise comparison matrices are provided for each level. 3) The local and global weights are calculated for each criterion and course based on the AHP comparisons. 4) The ordering of courses from highest to lowest weighted score is provided.

Semester IV
Question: Using AHP, find the order of eight courses to select three out
of them, that are offered to the students of Operational Research in
semester IV by Department of Operational Research, University of Delhi.
The eight courses are:
(1)Marketing Management
(2)Inventory Management II
(3)Queuing System II
(4)Multicriteria Decision Models

Solution:

First of all, I shall solve level 2 using AHP

Level 2:
Assumptions:
1. Teaching is between strong and very strong important to course
content.
2. Utility for career advancements is extremely important to course
content.
3. Feedback is equally important to course content.
4. Utility for career advancements is equally important to teaching.
5. Teaching is moderately and strong important to feedback.
6. Utility for career advancements is strongly important to feedback.
