A. Discuss the importance of traffic management. At least 100 words.
The safety, as well as the smooth flow of traffic on our roads is very
important. Therefore, it is necessary to have traffic management signals
that help in organizing the flow of traffic on the roads. To have structured,
well-functioning traffic management, there is also a need for traffic
management centers that help in acquiring the necessary information to
any situation. The major role of these centers is to process, collect, and
forward the necessary information about a certain traffic situation around
the clock, each day of the year. Additionally, they also help in guiding and
managing the traffic on various roads which is crucial to prevent accidents
and get people where they need to be.
Traffic signals or traffic management signals are most beneficial in
organizing the flow of traffic, when followed correctly by motorists. These
devices offer maximum control to roads, especially in various road
intersections. These devices relay messages to communicate to the driver
of when to stop/go, road closures, or changes in speed for example.
Additionally, traffic signals can assign an alternative route for an opposing
movement of traffic in a road or road intersection. Traffic signals are
simple since they have an easy-to-understand interphase or design.
However, there is also a disadvantage to this system. They may cause an
extreme interruption to the heavy flow of traffic due to the crossing of
some other minor movements, which otherwise may not be able to move
safely on the road. When traffic signals are appropriately installed, they
may be beneficial in increasing the capacity of traffic handling on the road
and help in the reduction of road accidents. Furthermore, they are useful
in improving the safety and efficiency of both the pedestrian and the
vehicular traffic.
B. Conduct research about RA 4136, Discuss its main contents.at least 100
words.
The REPUBLIC ACT No. 4136 entitled “AN ACT TO COMPILE
THE LAWS RELATIVE TO LAND TRANSPORTATION AND TRAFFIC
RULES, TO CREATE A LAND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES”. It is arguably the most important driving law
ever enacted.
Republic Act 4136, also known as the Land Transportation and
Traffic Code, laid the groundwork for all the traffic regulations we have
today. Plus, it also created the Land Transportation Commission in the
Philippines, currently known as the Land Transportation Office. RA 4136
required all motor vehicles to be registered in a national registry. It also set
the registration requirements and fees for every car owner. Aside from
that, this law also required drivers to apply for a professional and non-
professional license. RA 4136 also set the penalty fees for failing to
comply with the commission’s registration and licensing requirements.
Increasing number of Filipinos are violating traffic rules and getting
involved in vehicular accidents. Now more than ever, you should
familiarize yourself with the traffic laws in the Philippines to keep the roads
safe. Aside from knowing your driving laws, you should also get car
insurance to add another layer of protection while driving.
