ENGINEERINGSPECIFICATIONINTRODUCTION
This specification defines the additional ADCO's requirements that apply for all Storage Tanks
to be supplied for various projects of ADCO.
1.1 Purpose of this document
The objective of this document is to outline the important parameters, safely features, codes
and standards and basic requirements to be considered while specifying storage tanks for
various projects of ADCO.
This Engineering Specification hereinafter exclusively referred to as the Specification, forms a
constituent part of the inquiry and of the purchase order.
This Specification along with any attached drawings andor data sheets, specified codes and
standards defines minimum requirements for the design, supply of materials, fabrication /
construction, shop / site testing and inspection, marking & packing, quality assurance and
quality control, painting, documentation and supply of Shop fabricated tanks, Field fabricated
tanks to be installed for various projects of ADCO.
The SUPPLIER shall be responsible for ensuring that this Specification will be met in all
subcontracted supplies and services. Copies of this Specification may be passed on to
subcontractors for this purpose
1.2. Definitions and abbreviations
COMPANY ‘Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations- ADCO.
CONCESSION : Deviation requested by the vendor, usually after receiving the

This specification is complementary to requirements of certifying authority, legislative
requirement, guidance note issued by any authority & documents referenced herein.
Compliance with this Specification & Standards and documents referenced therein does not
relieve VENDOR of his responsibility to furnish units of proper design, workmanship &
materials to meet the specified conditions & duties required in data sheet.
Where other Specifications and Standards are referred in this Specification, it is the
VENDOR's responsibility to obtain such documents and familiarize with the requirements
thereof,

VENDOR's offer is deemed to be in full compliance with all specifications applicable in this
specification. Any exception or deviation that is not possible to meet due to technically
Unavoidable constraints shall be submitted with reasons / justification as an itemized list for
COMPANY review. Such exceptions / deviations shall be implemented only with the specific
approval of COMPANY. VENDOR to note that Comments or Clarifications NOT listed /
highlighted in the list of deviations shall not be considered and VENDOR is deemed to be in full

CODES, STANDARDS AND REFERENCE DOCUMENTS
Order of Precedence
It shall be the Vendor's responsibility to be, or to become, knowledgeable of the
requirements of any referenced Codes and Standards. Latest editions of all international codes
1 standard at the date of project award shall be used. Unless otherwise specified
In case of conflicting requirements amongst any of the specified standards, the standard
having the most stringent requirement shall be governing. Vendor shall notify the Contactor of

Vendor responsibility
The nominated VENDOR shall be responsible for the complete Purchase Order. The
VENDOR shall assume full responsibilty for the storage tank including design, manufacturing,
site construction, tank accessories, testing.
As part of this responsibility Vendor shall review and incorporate all requirements shown on
requisition, during the execution stage. Vendor shall also review the piping and civil interface
drawings during detail engineering in order to verify that the design associated facilities has no
detrimental effect on the design and operation of the storage tanks.

this specification, to satisfy design and operational requirements under the conditions described in

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
‘The following additional requirements shall take precedence over International code, standards,
Shell DEP, ADCO specifications and project documents referred at section 2 of this specification.
5.1 General
‘The SUPPLIER shall be fully responsible for the supply, selection and quality of all materials
inclusive of all consumables, welding, testing, protection devices, machinery, tools, labour and all
other necessary materials and services required to complete the supply of equipment whether or
not they are specified in the specification and attachments,
‘The SUPPLIER shail be fully responsible for the coordination with all his SUB-SUPPLIERS for
materials and services provided by them. The SUPPLIER shall be solely responsible to
COMPANY for compliance with the specified requirements. SUPPLIER shall submit experience
summary list ofall his SUB-SUPPLIERS.

+ For storage of products with specific gravity equal to or less than 1.0, the minimum design
specific gravity (SG) for the tank shall be equal to 1.0,
+ For products with a specific gravity greater than 1.0, the minimum design specific gravity
for the tank shall be equal to the maximum specific gravity ofthe stored product,
+ The specific gravity of the media (e.g. sea water) used to hydro test the tank shall be
considered in the determination of the design thickness of the tank shell, foundation loads
and hydrostatic test fil height.
+ Alltanks shall be designed to safeguard against tank over fill
‘+ Overflow & inlet nozzles shall be connected up to tank bottom through down comer pipes.
Splash or impact plates shall be provided below the inlet down comer or for any such down
‘comers which can lead to impact erosion.
+ Variable design point method or elastic analysis shall be applied while computing tank

Corrosion Allowance

to all pressure parts and non-removable internal parts on all surfaces exposed to the fluid.
Minimum corrosion allowance of shell, bottom, roof and other parts shall be as mentioned in
datasheet.
Parts or surfaces which are fabricated of or surfaced with corrosion resistant material shall not
require corrosion allowance,
Storage tanks shall be designed for 30 years operating life,

Bottom, shell and Roof Plates
‘The minimum thickness of the bottom, shell and roof plates for tanks shail be in accordance with
API 650 and project specification.
Tanks shall be designed in accordance with the requirements of API 650 standards and as
specified in data sheet. The Tank shall comply with the requirements specified in the project
data sheets, applicable specifications and standards specified in section 2 of this specification,
API 650, Appendix P, shall be used for local load analysis to determining / calculating the limit
loads for shell nozzles (excluding roof nozzles) in line with latest revision. CONTRACTOR shall
ensure that piping loads imposed on the shell openings by connecting piping are within the
safe limit,
For Roof nozzles detall calculations shall be submitted which will includes all loads including
reaction loads to demonstrate that the structural integrity of the tank roof structure,
‘Also the COMPANY / CONTRACTOR shall provide the actual nozzle loadings to SUPPLIER
after completion of piping stress analysis. Supplier shall confirm the nozzle loads.
‘Tanks shall be designed for wind and seismic conditions as mentioned in clause 3.2 of this
specification. Wind stability and seismic design shall be carried out as per API 650 and project
specification
For spacing of welds around nozzle and other attachment welds, requirements of API 650 shall
be satisfied. Nozzles and reinforcing pads shall not be placed in horizontal or vertical butt-
welded joints. Minimum distance from bottom of tank to center of nozzle shail be in accordance
with API 650 low type, unless otherwise specified
Flanges used for nozzles shall be WNRF type, unless otherwise specified in data sheet /
Piping material specification, bored to the same inside diameter as the neck. All flanges upto,
24° shall be in accordance with ASME B16.5 and all flanges larger than 24° NB shall be in
accordance with ASME B16.47 series-A, unless otherwise specified in datasheet. Shell and
roof manway flange shall be in accordance with API 650.
Nozzles shall be minimum 2" Schedule 80 pipe.
Nozzle projections from tank ©.D. to flange face shall be a minimum of 100 mm for nozzle
sizes 6” and smaller, and a minimum of 150 mm for nozzle sizes 8" and larger. In the event a
vessel has insulation an amount equal to the thickness of the planned insulation shall be
added to the minimum nozzle projections.

above ground, cage shall be provided.
Handrails shall be provided at edge of roof for full circumference on all fixed roof tanks.
Tank shall be provided with name plate in accordance with API Standard 650 and project
specification.
Name plate shall indicate (if applicable) both names of fabrication manufacturer / supplier and
erection manufacturer / sub-contractor. All information shown on DEP standard drawing shall
be included.
Earthing bosses shall be welded to the tank shell at maximum intervals of 15 m. Earthing Boss
shall be as per DEP standard and project specification
SUPPLIER may start the fabrication after the written approval of the Supplier's detailed
fabrication drawings and welding procedures from COMPANY.
Bottom Plate
Bottom plate minimum corroded thickness shall be 6 mm. In general tank bottoms shall be
designed in accordance with API 650, with the exception that irrespective of tank diameter a
ring of annular plates shall be applied in all cases.

The roof supporting structure shall be designed in accordance with API 650 and project
specification. Roof design shall include sand loads as per ADCO structural design basis
(30.99.75.0067) and additional live load of 0.75 KNim2 shall be added on flat surface of roof

Tank roof-to-shell joint shall be frangible type (i.e. ‘roof-to-shell’ joint fail prior to ‘tank-to-
bottom’ joint) to ensure containment of product within the tank and eliminate major spillage.
Column supported roof is not acceptable, unless otherwise specified in the data sheet.

flanged as described in API 650. The radius of curvature for flanged dome roofs shall not be

Roof to shell top curb angle joint to be a continuous fillet weld. Joint overlap shall not exceed

Floating roofs shall be designed to operate to the lowest level permitted by tank intemals,
unless specified otherwise in the storage tank data sheets.
Floating roofs shall be fitted with adjustable support legs, designed so that they can be
adjusted from the top side of the internal floating roof. The support let position shall provide a
1.5 m tolerance between the lowest portion of the roof and the tank floor.
Seal materials of floating roofs shall be chemically compatible with the product.

loss and wax scraper to scrape off any deposition on the internal wall of the tank. Sealing ring
shall be held in constant contact with tank shell and shall compensate for expansion and
contraction. Special sections like trapezoid shall be considered for sealing elements, The
circumferential primary roof seal may comprises metallic shoe having flexible seals with
weight or spring operated pusher mechanism or a compression plate type seal or a fabric
foam filled seal. The compression plate type shall be of SS316 or better. Rim mounted
secondary roof seal shall be used in all primary seal system. The lower part of the metalic
shoe shall be submerged in the product. Compression plate types shall be provided with
continuous weight skirt which is partly submerged in product. Foam filled envelope seal shall
be of the liquid mounted type. The seal shall be accessible for inspection and repair during
service.
Floating roofs shall be fitted with the access manholes, emergency drains discharging directly
into the stored product and a sampling and gauging device.
Internal floating roof components that are fabricated (or) attached by welding shall be
completely seal welded. Installation of floating roof shall be in accordance with the instructions
provided by the roof manufacturer.
Roof plates
Minimum thickness of self-supporting doom type roof shall be as per API 650 and project
specification,
Plates shall be completely cut to size and shall be machined, if required and ready for lap
weld at site,
Spacing of Roof Members
‘Spacing of rafter shall be as per AP! 650 and project specification.
For dome roofs, the spacing of rafters shall not exceed 2.1m at the periphery.
Roof nozzles for breather valves, free vents, dip hatches and slot
dipping devices
Fixed roof tanks shall be fitted with roof nozzles suitable for cone or dome roofs, to enable
these fittings to be mounted vertically and to provide clearance when roof insulation is fitted

nominal bolt diameter. The minimum anchor bolt diameter shall be 1 inch plus any specified

A stability calculation shall be made to determine the anchor bolt.
Unstable tanks shall be provided with anchor bolts and conerete foundation rings. Uplift is
caused by the internal vapour pressure acting against the underside of the roof, in conjunction
with wind foad. A stability calculation shall be made to determine the number of anchor bolts
required. Anchor bolts shall be provided based on design considering wind / seismic loads,
uplift due to internal pressure etc. However tanks having diameter less than 10 meter shall be
provided with anchor bolts.
‘Anchor bolts shall be attached to the shell with stiffened chair-type assemblies or anchor rings
of sufficient size and height. Vendor shall perform anchor chair design as per ADCO Civil
standard specification (ES 30.99.76,3232).
Anchorage shall be provided to resist each of the uplift load cases listed in API 650 and
project specification,
5.9 Welding
Welding shall comply with API 650 and project specification, unless otherwise specifically
exempted by COMPANY.
In multi-layer welding each layer of weld metal shall be thoroughly cleaned of slag and other
deposits before the next layer is applied. All completed welds shall be freed from slag,
brushed and thoroughly cleaned before final inspection and subsequent painting,

‘The weld metal on both sides of all butt joints, except the offset faces of horizontal joints of
unequal plate thickness, shall be built up in the form of an overlay so that all the finished faces
in the area of fusion shall extend above the surface of the adjoining plates to a height of not
more than 1.5 mm.
The hardness measurements shall be taken on the welding procedure test plate on a cross
section over the weld. The hardness shall be measured in the weld metal, heat-affected zone

Field welds with hardness values outside the permissible limits shall be replaced.
No production welding shall be permitted, unless written approval received from COMPANY

Use of Gas Metal Arc Welding-short circuit transfer (GMAW-S) process shall be limited to as
specified under API 582.
Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) shall only be permitted with prior approval by COMPANY.
All welding consumables shall have specified chemical and mechanical properties.
All welding consumables shall have specified mechanical properties equal to or greater than
the material being welded, unless agreed and approved by the COMPANY.
Welding procedures and welders shall be qualified in accordance with ASME section IX,
Welding and Brazing Qualifications, approval of Welding Procedures and Welders
Performance. Documents shall be submitted to the COMPANY for review in accordance with
the SDRL. Welding shall not be performed prior to approval of the welding procedures and
qualifications by the COMPANY.
Sequence of welding
The sequence employed for the tack welding and final welding of the bottom, shell and roof
plates shall be arranged to minimize the distortion due to weld shrinkage. The sequences
shall be approved by the COMPANY before erection starts,

deformation, distortion or damage due to buckling, self-weight, wind loads or other
construction related loads that may impact the stability of the tank whilst under construction,
The structural design and installation of temporary safeguard support shall be the
responsibilty of the manufacturer / supplier.
Minimum weld distance (toe-to-toe) of 50 mm shall be maintained for all adjacent welds and
attachments.
Plate Edge Welding
(a) Vertical joints
‘The plate edges of vertical shell joints shall be prepared for manual arc welding as follows:
‘+ Square butt joints may be used only for a plate thickness of 6 mm or less.
‘© Single-vee butt joints shall not be used for plate thickness exceeding 13 mm,
‘+ Double-vee butt joints shail not be used for a plate thickness of 8 mm and shall be
used for plate thicknesses greater than 13 mm.
* Preparation of both single-vee and single bevel butt joints shall be made on the
outside edge of shell plates unless agreed otherwise by the COMPANY.
(b) Horizontal joints
The plate edges of horizontal shell joints shall be prepared for manual are welding as
follows:
‘+ Square butt joints may be used only where the thickness of the thinner plate does not
exceed 8 mm
‘+ Single-bevel butt joints may be used where the thickness of the thinner plate exceeds
8 mm but does not exceed 13 mm.
+ Double-bevel butt joints shall be used for a plate thickness exceeding 13 mm.
Alternative details for plate edge preparation may be proposed to the COMPANY for
agreement if welding is to be done by an automatic welding process with the below
minimum guidelines:
Vertical seams: Approval of the COMPANY jis required for the application of
automatic welding processes. The welding procedure test shall show that full fusion
is consistently obtained.

plates with a minimum length of 3 m (10 ft) under restrained conditions. After
depositing the root layer(s), this (these) layer(s) shall be inspected for cracks.
(c) Bottom Plate Joints
All bottom plate joints shall be welded in accordance with the details described in accordance
with API 650 and project specification
If bottom plates are butt-welded a minimum plate thickness of 6 mm is required and a backing
strip shall be used which is at least 60 mm wide and 8 mm thick.
It shall be checked that all locations where supports for accessories (e.g. heating coils, roof
drains, vacuum breakers, etc.) are welded to the bottom, or will be touching the bottom, are
provided with a suitable pad plate. The pad plates shall be round or at least have rounded
comers. The pad plate thickness shall be at least equal to the bottom plate thickness.
Butt-welded bottom plates shall have their parallel edges prepared for butt welding with either
square or V grooves, Butt-welds shall be made using an appropriate weld joint configuration
that yields a complete penetration weld.
Typical permissible bottom butt welds without a backing strip are the same as those shown in
‘API 650 Figure 5-1
Typical permissible butt-welds using a backing strip are shown in API 650 Figure 5-3a and at
teast 3 mm (1/8 in.) thick tack welded to the underside of the plate is permitted.
If square grooves are employed, the root openings shall not be less than 6 mm (1/4 in.). A
metal spacer shall be used to maintain the root opening between the adjoining plate edges
unless the Manufacturer submits another method of butt-welding for the COMPANY approval.
‘Three-plate joints in the tank bottom shall be at least 300 mm (12 in.) from each other and
from the tank shell
(d) Shell Butt Joints
Shell butt joints shall be of a full penetration design,

5.10 Material of Construction

+ Maximum carbon content = 0.23% except for forging where it may be 0.25%
Impact test shall be in accordance with requirements of code and project specification. All
Material shall be suitable for the minimum metal temperature specified for the storage tank
data sheet.
Materials of construction for tanks shall conform to the requirements of API 650, NACE
MR0175 (for SOUR service) together with the requirements in DEP's Standard, unless
otherwise indicated in the datasheet.
‘As a minimum, all pressure retaining components of a tank shall be provided with material
certificates per EN 10204 type 3.1 proving that the material furnished meets the requirements
of the specification and the data sheet. Specific material identification requirements shall be in
accordance with the respective data sheet,
All materials shall be new, unused, and free of defects,
The SUPPLIER shall provide material certificates giving both chemical and mechanical
properties for all main components of the tank.
All bolt and nut shall be heavy head pattern. All bolts and nuts (carbon steel, stainless steel
etc.,) used in pressure containing connections (including flanged connections), shall be
supplied with coating of TAKECOAT or XYLAN-1070, Hot dip zinc coating (Galvanizing) of
bolts and nuts is not acceptable. All bolts length shall be provided with two threads extended
after the nut, as a minimum requirement,
Annular Bottom plates shall be to the same material specification and grade as the bottom
shell course, Backing strips (if used) shall be of the same material specification and grade as
the annular plate including applicable heat treatment.
Plate material used for reinforcement and for nozzle or manhole neck, they shall meet the
‘same notch toughness requirements as specified for the shell plate.

Protection Criteria for Impressed Current system
Impressed current CP systems shall be designed such that instantaneous "OFF" potentials can
be measured for assessing the CP system performance. The potential shall be (minus) 850 mV to
(minus) 4150 mV w.rt cu / CuSo4 reference Cell as per cathodic protection design documents
referred in section 2 of this specification.
The cathodic protection system shall be designed for the design life of the tank. Minimum
design life shall be 30 years,
Contractor shall carryout calculations based on resistivity (minimum current density) data and
Coating factor as specified in cathodic protection design specifications.
A separate DC power source shall be used for External and internal protection. A multichannel
‘TIR unit, having two independent outputs can be used for the protection of tank.
Tank External CP system
For above grade tanks, coating damage takes place due to welding and movernent of plates
‘on the hard surface / soil. A coating breakdown factor of 100 % shall be considered for tank
bottom irrespective of type of coating.

For potable water tanks, only magnesium anodes shall be considered if a sacrificial CP
system is being employed for corrosion protection.
Contractor shall carryout CP system design as per cathodic protection design
specification and shall furnish details (such as: selection, type of anodes, aty.. distribution,
fixing arrangement etc.,) for COMPANY review and approval. The design shall provide
sufficient current to achieve as ‘ON’ potential equal to or more (minus) 900 mV w.r.t silver
J silver chloride reference electrode for a Sacrificial Anode System
The following thumb rule shall be followed, as minimum unless otherwise specified
The pitch circle diameter (PCD) of anode rings shall be arranged as per the tank diameter
and design. The anodes should not foul each other and with the tank wall / columns,
The maximum spacing between two nearest anodes in any circle shall be 16 m. The
spacing shall be reduced to 10 m for the outermost circle as the current demand is higher
due to the surface area of the shell
The anodes shall be supported on a polypropylene rope. The rope shall be provided with
end weight so that anode does not move with the turbulences caused by the water flow. It
shall be ensured that no load is transmitted to the anode and all loads are taken by the
rope.
It should be possible to remove the anode for inspection without emptying the tank.
The anode to cable joint shall be completely sealed (an in line splice kit is recommended)
and the joint is above the maximum water level.

If drastic variation is expected in the level of the product, auto potential T/R unit shall be
used, It shall have a provision to automatically adjust the T/R output based on the signal
from the permanent reference cell. Two reference cells shall be provided for each tank.
The TIR shall have a provision to select any of the reference cells. 100% allowance in
anode aty., shall be considered to overcome frequent depolarization.
CP system for Flow Suction Tanks (FST) containing hydrocarbon & water shall be
designed to account rapid product level change and comply with CP design specification,
Permanent reference cells shall be provided for auto potential monitoring and control. In
addition to this two more nozzles shall be provided at the tank roof to facilitate the
monitoring of the tank to electrolyte potential with a portable reference electrode.
Design details, materials, installation and commissioning activities shall be based on the
relevant CP specifications as mentioned in Section 2 ofthis specification
QUALITY ASSURANCE, INSPECTION & TESTING

GENERAL
Vendor shall conform to COMPANY ‘Inspection and Test Plan’ as included in the requisition
and data addressed in the equipment data sheet. Vendor shall conform to all clauses of this
specification. Vendor shall, for this purpose, take all necessary, measures, making use of
suitable means, devices, qualified personnel enabling him to ensure permanent and effective
control at each stage of the procurement and fabrication.
The SUPPLIER shall identify all stages of inspection from receipt of raw materials,
‘commencement of fabrication til final testing and acceptance tests that will be carried out on,
the equipment at his works in the preliminary equipment inspection and test / quality plan to be
submitted with the bid and which will later be revised up to a contract inspection and test /

COMPANY, or its authorised representative, shall be permitted at all times free access to all
areas of Supplier's workshop that concern the fabrication and testing of the equipment.

prior to commencing any major surface preparation and painting, prior to carrying out any
witnessed shop testing, or pre-delivery function tests,

‘Any manufacturing part found defective or defects found by the inspector shall be rectified by
the SUPPLIER at his own expense in the presence of inspector without any delivery
implication. Where this is not possible or practical, checklists shall be prepared and signed by
the inspector stating all ‘pending items’. All these items shall be presented for subsequent

Prior to final inspection, the tank internal shall be broom cleaned and the entire tank shail be
free from any debris and contaminations. Visual inspection shall be conducted on the complete
tank to ensure all welds merge smoothly with the surface of the plate without a sharp angle
and is free from coarse ripples, grooves, overlaps and abrupt ripples,
Prior to despatch, a final inspection shall be made by the SUPPLIER to ensure all aspects of
the quality plan have been complied with
‘Tank Bottom
‘All bottom joints shail be tested with a vacuum of 0.56 to 0.70 bar (a) by using the vacuum box,
method before any surface coating is applied.
After jacking-up of a tank for relevelling, or after transport of a prefabricated tank, the tank
bottom shall again be tested for leaks using a vacuum box.
Tank shell
‘The shells of fixed roof tanks shall be hydrostatically tested after completion of the roof,

procedures for COMPANY review.

Quality System Requirements”
Hydro testing
Hydro testing for shop fabricated and site fabricated tanks shall be in accordance with the project
data sheets and design codes.
Test fluid shall be inhibited water. Free from sulphides. Chloride content shall be limited to a
maximum of 100 ppm & pH 6 - 8 for Carbon steel and maximum 50 ppm for stainless steel tanks,
Piping bolts and gaskets used during testing shall be replaced with new sets before the
equipment is packed for delivery. SUPPLIER shall ensure that the tanks are thoroughly drained
and dried following the pressure test to ensure minimal corrosion takes place between testing
and installation. Heat shall not be used in this drying process.
Mechanical stability shall be ensured during hydrostatic load,
‘The gaskets, joint rings and bolting, used on all flanged connections during hydro testing shall be
identical to those for operation.
For ferrtic Tanks, the minimum temperature shall not be less than 7°C.
‘The SUPPLIER shall submit all test procedures for COMPANY approval, not later than 6 weeks

PROTECTIVE COATINGS
External surface preparation, priming and painting shall only be carried out after hydro test and
all other tests have been satisfactorily completed. Painting and Coating shall be as per ADCO

9.2 Vendor Document Requirement Schedule
During detailed engineering stage, General Vendor documentations requirement that would be
applicable for technical review and approvals is specified in requisition - "Vendor Docurnent
Requirement Schedule’. This VORS also includes Technical Data and Certification Dossier,
Technical Operating & Maintenance Manual Dossier and Equipment Spares Dossier,
VENDOR documentation shall be prepared according to the Procedure for preparation of
VENDOR'S engineering drawings and as per requisition.
CONTRACTOR / VENDOR shall provide all engineering and design documentation required for
installation, start-up and maintenance. References to any system and/or mechanical piece of
equipment on any document shall be by its tag number.
CONTRACTOR / VENDOR shall ensure that all the documents can be reproduced clearly and

Wherever safety is involved, documents shall be approved by certifying authority prior to proceed

Review, comment or approval by the COMPANY or any failure to review, shall not absolve the
SUPPLIER of the responsibility for the accuracy, responsibilty to produce a working system
complying with the intent of the requisition, specification and attached documentation and
completeness of the documents in accordance with good industry practice and meeting the
requirements of the contract.
SPIR form shall include the list of all spare parts. SPIR shall be submitted with proper drawings
and documentation before commissioning in order to prepare the required spare parts list with
correct data and quantity on time,

Material Certificates
Material certificates shall be fumished for mechanical equipment in accordance with the relevant
design codes and engineering standards as amended by the respective project specification. As
@ minimum, Material certificates for lifting aids (lifting lugs, spreader bars, slings, shackles) and
all pressure retaining components shall be in accordance with EN 10204 Type 3.1
For all the other non-pressure parts, material certificates type 2.2 shall be provided.
Full traceabilty of pressure retaining welds and critical structural steel! welds (i.e. Lifting lugs) is
required. The traceable data shall include NDT reports, welding procedure and welder number.
Test Certificates and Test Documentation
Certificates for each mechanical and / or performance test shall be furnished, including
hydrostatic test certificates.

‘The SUPLLIER shall supply test documentation covering all the tests, which are to be performed
during the implementation stages and the installation & commissioning Phase. The SUPPLIER
shall supply all relevant test and calibration certificates applicable to the instrumentation
‘equipment.
PREPERATION FOR SHIPMENT
All packing and preservation shall be prepared for shipment, delivered according to the project
specification requirements and as per the delivery terms of the contract, but shall be suitable for
at least 12 months outdoor storage at the site conditions specified. Vendor shall recommend any
other measures that may be required during storage.
Components (tank accessories) requiring storage at restricted temperatures and humidity shall
be boxed separately and identified for controlled climate storage.
Plates shall be marked in accordance with the relevant material specification by the mill by die
stamping or stenciling.
Pre-fabricated tank shell courses (pre-formed, weld beveled and painted with tape covering the
weld edges) shall be shipped with necessary shipping metal saddles, fixtures such that shell
courses stacked in ready to install position and to minimize the erection time with required
identifications. Thank roof and bottom plates shall be packed in sequence to minimize the
segregation at site. All adjacent tank plates shall be trial-fit at shop floor with match mark, prior to
shipping,
Platform, ladders, spiral stairs, pipe support, extemnal-intemal attachments shall be pre-fabricated
trial fit-up with match marked at shop floor, to the maximum extent possible (subjected to
transportation limitation) prior to shipment,
All nozzles shall be pre-fabricated, formed, stress relieved (as per code), tested and painted for
ready to fit at site for site erected tanks.
Shop fabricated tanks shall be completed in all respects for ready to install conditions. Shop
fabricated tanks shall be designed for single lift in fully-dressed-up condition. All necessary
fixtures suitable for iting, transportation and erection shall be designed and supplied by vendor.
All items shall be suitably protected against damage during shipment, transit and storage, with

Vendor shall provide adequate protection against sea water / salt laden air, during sea
transportation, as required by applicable specifications. Sea-worthy packing shall be provided.
List of items proposed to be shipped loose shall be furnished along with the proposal / shall be
listed in packing list and marked in the general arrangement drawings.
All components shall be adequately supported / protected to prevent damage during
transportation and handling.
‘The equipment shall be delivered with one copy of the installation, Operation and Maintenance
Manual and the preservation procedures.
All equipment shall be delivered drained of liquids. Parts that are hydro-tested shall be dried out
after the test.
‘The COMPANY / CONTRACTOR shall carry out a final inspection prior to shipment to check and
ensure a proper protection for shipment. However, Vendor shall be entirely responsible for the
adequacy of the packing for shipment and storage on site
SPARE PARTS and special tools
Spare parts shall be selected in accordance with DEP 70.10.90.11.GEN. The spare parts
required are as follows:
(a) Erection, Pre-commissioning & Commissioning spare parts:
‘Spare part required during the period of erection, pre-commissioning and commissioning shall be
supplied by the vendor and included in the basic scope of supply. Vendor shall furnish item wise
list, Minimum 5% spares, 10 % bolting (2 sets per size) and 200% gaskets for site joints, gaskets
for all joints to be opened during testing shall be included in the basic scope of supply
(b) Initial Spares for first year of operati
Vendor shall submit an itemised list of recommended spares for first one year of operation. It is,

2 year spare parts are excluded from the base scope of supply. These spares shall be purchased
by ADCO.

(d) Overhaul spare parts:
‘Overhaul spare parts (Lo be recommended by vendor) which would be required for the equipment
after it has been operating continuously for three (3) to five (5) years. Only lst is to be submitted

sheets and manual for bought out parts from Sub-Vendors,
{e) Insurance Spare Parts:
The Vendor shall provide priced list of Insurance Spare Parts recommended by Vendor and
specifically identified in the requisition; spare parts that are on long delivery and may be required
to maintain the operation of the equipment shall be identified by the Vendor in the SPIR Form.
The Vendor shall also include spare parts manual, drawings, datasheets and manual for bought-
out parts from sub-Vendors. These spare parts list shall include insurance spare parts that are on
long delivery and may be required to maintain the operation of the equipment. These shall be
identified within the completed Contractor SPIR Form. The Vendor shall also include spare parts
manual, drawings, datasheets and manual for bought-out parts from sub-vendors.
Spare part kits shall be detailed to identify each individual item.
Spare parts shall be preserved from environmental corrosion, and preservation methods shall be
suitable for long term storage (Humid environment)
Detailed documentation for spare parts (sectional drawings with parts list) shall be submitted with
spare parts list.
HSE REQUIREMENTS
Vendor shall review equipment design with regard to compliance to HSE philosophy. This
review shall consider among others.
Safety during operation and maintenance.
Ergonomics (operability, maintainability, accessibility)
Falling objects protection and rounding of sharp edges.
Safe Tripping.
Fire and Explosion safe guarding
Noise Emission.
Guarding for personnel protection.
