Company information

Located on Rm 317 Trinity Bldg. 636 TM Kalaw Ermita Manila. Customs brokerage
firms facilitate the shipment and delivery of goods across geographical borders for
individuals and organizations. Star MGS Customs Brokerage Services are working positions
that may be employed by or affiliated with freight forwarders, independent businesses, or
shipping lines, importers, exporters, trade authorities, and customs brokerage firms. A
customs brokerage firm is responsible for knowing all of these rules and regulations and
ensuring that they are followed, in order to streamline the process of shipping goods as much
as possible for the individual or organization. In effect, customs brokers alleviate the stress of
dealing with customs officials and learning shipping regulations so that their clients can
spend more time on what they are good at managing their core business.

Internship description

Im assigned for the shipment trackings, and usually i am more on the paper works. I also
answer our customer inquiries, concerns. Determine and track duties and taxes payable and
process payments on behalf of client. Sign documents under a power of attorney. Represent
clients in meetings with customs officials and apply for duty refunds and tariff
reclassifications. Coordinate transportation and storage of imported goods. I was also tasked
to perform outside my box which is very challenging for me since im a newbie in the industry
but despite the challenges I triumph above it and I’ve managed to perform against all the
odds.

Overview of internship experience.

I was able to discover the things i have abilities on (Focused, Understanding, motivated)
and things that i dont have any comfort on doing to (Overload paperworks) its very helpful
because it help me to reach and norture my core skills evenmore.i am currently using my
learnings in my everyday life.

Ongoing consideration.

While I had many skills i've learned i think i still need more time to flourish in this
particular field, i think being in this specific industry you will always need time and space to
grow, So i think thats what i lacked at the very moment, Beside from all of that I think
providing more experience really does have an impact for me since it will help me to gain an
advantages in the corporate world.

In summary, my internship at this company being assigned to different tasks really help
me to perform outside my comfort zone which provided an advantage for me since i've
always been scared about doing something im not comfortable. And with the help of this
internship i have discovered the skills i can use and the skills that i should focus on more.It
also help me to realize that being organized and more attentive to your work is one of the key
factors to be succesfull in this field.
