Answer the following. Each question carries 1/2 mark. : 10 × ½ = 5
1. The A.M. of 200 values is 50. But the values 192 and 88 are wrongly taken as 92
and 8. Then find the correct A.M.
2. The weight (in kgs) of 8 students are listed as 45, 38.5, 42.4, 44.3, 35.8, 39.1,
41.5, 39.4. Then find the A.M.
3. Statement (A) : The data having two modes is called Bi - modal data.
Statement (B) : The class length of 1 - 10 is 10.
(i) Both are true (ii) A is true B is false
(iii) A is false B is true (iv) Both A and B are false
Read the information and answer the questions 4 and 5.
The emperical relation between the three central tendency measures :
Mode = 3Median– 2Mean
4. Mode of the data is 34 and mean is 30. Find the median.
5. Mean = (3Median – Mode) ÷ 2, Is this a true statement ?
6. Match the following.
n1
A) The Median of 10, 6, 6, 4, 2 is i)
2
B) If the sum of 'a' observations is 'g' then its A.M. ii) 6

C) The A.M. of 1, 2, 3, 4 ......n observations is .... iii)

(A) A-ii, B-iii, C-i (B) A-i, B-iii, C-ii

(C) A-ii, B-i, C-iii (D) A-i, B-ii, C-iii

7. If the mean of x,
x , x , x , x is 10 then find the value of x.
2 5 4 3
8. What is the class interval of the frequency distribution having classes 1-8, 9-16,
17-24 ?

11. Write formula for A.M. and explain all the terms in it.

12. If mode = 76.7, Median = 73.9 then find mean.

13. If the mean of 6, 5+x, 28, 18, and 11 is 14, then find x.

14. If  x =1860,  f =30 then find x .

Frequency 4 6 12 p 8
If the mean of the above data is 7.3 find the missing value 'p'.

16. A survey conducted on 20 households in a locality by a group of students resulted in

the following frequency table for the number of family members in a household. Find
the mode of the below data.
Family Size 1-3 3-5 5-7 7-9 9-11
Number of families 7 8 2 2 1

quency is 100. Here, CI stands for class interval and Fr for frequency.

18. A student noted the number of cars passing through a spot on a road for 100 periods,
each of 3 minutes, and summarised this in the table. Find the mode of the data.
