Yes/no questions are a type of question in English that require a yes or no answer. They are characterized by question words other than what, when, where, or who. To answer yes/no questions, if the answer is yes one would respond with "Yes, subject + verb" and if the answer is no one would respond with "No, subject + verb + not". Examples are provided of forming yes/no questions using auxiliary verbs like is, are, do, and does as well as answering sample questions correctly.

What is yes/no questions?


Yes/No Questions merupakan salah satu jenis pertanyaan dalam bahasa
Inggris yang jawabannya terdiri dari dua pilihan, yakni yes (ya) or no (tidak).
Jadi ketika kamu dihadapkan pada yes/no questions, kamu harus memilih
salah satu di antara yes atau no untuk menjawabnya. Salah satu cirinya yaitu
kata tanyanya tidak berupa what, when, where atau who

Membuat yes/no questions


Pattern/pola : Verbs + subject + ......
Verbs disini adalah auxiliary verbs meliputi :
Is, am,are, was,were, do, does, has, have, dan had
Modal verbs meliputi : can, will, may, shall, could, would, might, should,
dan lain-lain

Menjawab Yes/No Questions


Jika ya :
Yes, subject + verbs
Jika tidak :
No, Subject + verbs + not (ditambahkan not)

No, I do not / No, I don’t

Does he like football? Yes, he does


No, he does not
Ketika pertanyaannya menggunakan auxiliary do/ does maka menjawabnya
juga diikuti dengan do/ does

Examples/contoh
Do you like pizza? (Apakah kamu suka pizza?)

*Dalam pertanyaan diatas you yang berarti kamu kita jawab dengan I (saya)
maka to be nya berubah dari are menjadi am = I am
