PREFACE
Rationale

This Work Immersion Portfolio will serve as a workbook for the students who will take
up the course/subject Work Immersion in Senior High School. The framework is based on
WORK IMMERSION IMPLEMENTATION PLAN DURING CRISIS SITUATION (A compliance
report to DM-CI-2020-00085)
This workbook will essentially foster in-depth learning of the world of work and
assessment of student’s performance during work immersion.

Furthermore, the purpose of this portfolio includes but is not limited to the following:

For Student:
• Integrate learning in specialized areas under Technical Vocational and Livelihood
• Produce a creative portfolio following the guidelines; and,
• Value the importance of learning in specialized areas under Technical Vocational and
Livelihood.

School:
• This contains regulations and conditions regarding contract between school and
student.
• This is an information about curriculum and record of lessons learned.
• This is a record of student creative portfolio for assessment.

Creative Portfolio:
• to showcase end-of-year/semester accomplishments

• to prepare a sample of best work for employment or college admission

• to showcase student perceptions of favorite, best or most important work

• to communicate a student's current aptitudes to future teachers

WORK IMMERSION

Grade: 12 No. of Hours: 80 hours


Pre-requisite: Should have taken at least 4 Specialized Subjects
Course Description:
Work Immersion aims to provide Senior High School Learners with opportunities to
become familiar with the workplace, to simulate employment and to apply their competencies
in areas of specialization in an actual work environment. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic
caused limited possible activities for this immersion. Hence, the Department of Education
recognizes other options that may equally prepare learners and device unique delivery models
with a minimum of 80 hours following the listed competencies that can be found in the
curriculum guide.
For the Tec-Voc strand (Technical Vocational and Livelihood) students will be provided
with the opportunity to integrate their learning in different learning areas through a creative
culminating activity.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Learner
In this course, the learners are expected to:
1. Integrate learning in specialized areas under Technical Vocational and Livelihood
2. Produce a creative portfolio following the guidelines; and,
3. Value the importance of learning in specialized areas under Technical Vocational and
Livelihood
Assessment
The Work Immersion Teacher will assess the learner’s performance following the
DepEd Order No. 8, s. 2015 Policy Guidelines on Classroom Assessment for the K to 12 Basic
Education Program.
