SCHOOL POLICY ON SAFETY HEALTH PROTOCOLS
AGAINST COVID19
1. “Stay Home When Sick” signage shall be posted, with emergency warning signs and
high-risk groups.
2. The sick school personnel and learners are to remain home or leave premise and
notify school and district focal and immediate school head when with flu-like
symptoms.
3. The school head/adviser must notify the family/the guardian member of the sick
individual.
4. A surgical face mask should be worn properly by the feverish person and be
immediately referred to the health personnel/clinic teacher. Sick individual should be
referred to the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT).
5. Individuals who have Covid19 symptoms must be place at the identified school
isolation room, preferably an open space, with hand washing facility or sanitizer, if
unavailable, face-mask, tissue and trash can
6. During face to face, a routine early morning health inspection of learners must be
done by the teacher, and report case immediately to the school head, clinic teacher
and health personnel.
7. The School shall implement flexible sick leave policies for learners and staff, perfect
attendance awards is not applicable.
8. Daily self-health checklist review for personnel, parents, learners and visitors shall be
done prior to entering the school premise.
9. Recording of daily health declaration form & Covid19 screening questionnaire to
personnel and visitors shall also be implemented. All school entrants including school
personnel must declare in all honestly their history of travel and exposure and close
contact to confirmed COVID-19 and primary contacts cases.
10. All school employees are responsible to promptly notify the school clinic, teacher,
school head, district Covid19 focal person (District Nurse) and the BHERT should
the responses on the questionnaire change, activating the Preventive Alert System in
School (PASS)
11. Referrals to Local Government Units shall be within 30 minutes from detection of
flu-like symptoms with or without fever.
12. All personnel and learners exhibiting respiratory infections must not attend any
congregation.
13. A designated employee is assigned to check temperature regularly using non-contact
thermogun or wall/stand mounted scanner in the entrance thus, everybody is
mandated for temperature check with a cut-off 37.4 C above such will be considered
as fever.
14. The school shall conducts referral system for assessment, contact tracing, possible
testing and facility isolation.
15. Best practice must be followed on how to wear, remove and dispose masks and hand
hygiene before and after.
16. All exposed Covid19 learners and personnel shall immediately advise the school head
& health personnel on health status, exposure, contact tracing, test result and referral
for mandatory Covid19 reporting.
17. “NO MASK, NO ENRTY” is strictly followed by the school personnel, learners,
visitors, and mask should be worn accordingly at all times. Wearing of medical mask
is a must for an individual exhibiting symptoms of respiratory infections.
18. The school must be updated with the local health situation, and Barangay Health
Emergency Response Team (BHERT) contact numbers, and RHU Hotline number
posted, registered in the phone contacts of all the personnel.
19. Coordinate with the Division Health Personnel and health authorities for alternative
work arrangement if necessary.
20. School personnel should act as model in the school, community and in social media
by adhering strictly to the required health standard of the Department of Education
and the health protocol enforced by the local, regional and national health authorities.
21. All School Personnel is discouraged and restricted in attending mass congregation,
parties and or any milestone celebrations (birthdays, wedding, fiestas, anniversaries)
to be held outside home or in other household and refrain from inviting guests and
visitors to prevent possible COVID-19 transmission and infection.
22. All School personnel should avoid communal eating to avoid transmission during
lunch breaks or eating.
23. Non-essential travel, face to face meetings and gatherings shall not be allowed unless
otherwise with permission from the local Inter-agency Task Force and Health
Authorities.
24. Classroom desks shall be arranged a least 1 meter apart in accordance with the D.O.
14 series of 2020.
25. All classrooms, offices, facilities and toilets must be properly ventilated.
26. One way route system shall be established through the presence of markers, signage
or arrows.
27. Information Education and communication materials on proper
hand-washing/sneezing/coughing, maintaining physical distancing, and proper
wearing of face mask shall be available at visible locations.
28. Any personnel who violate any provision stated herein shall be dealt with
administratively pursuant to DepEd Order no. 49, series of 2006 “The Revised Rules
of Procedure of the Department of Education on Administrative Cases.
