individually and together?

The purpose of the team is to achieve goals collectively. In this particular case, our

team’s goal is to finish the three Culminating Projects together. The main focus here is

the team efforts. The goals can’t be achieved without the whole team's efforts.

2. Each individual role for each milestone deliverable.

1st milestone:

Shuping: Responsible for writing the team charter.

Megan: Responsible for answering the question “What is project quality management?”

Rachael: Responsible for answering the question “Why is it necessary?”

Teresa: Responsible for answering the question “Describe at least 6 key attributes of

project quality management?”

2nd milestone:

Shuping: Responsible for an overview of the presentation.

Megan: Responsible for the question “Why project quality management is beneficial.

What 5 takeaways should program managers to gain from project quality management

training?”

Rachael: Responsible for the question “Six attributes or takeaways you believe

format. Introduction, overview, key elements of quality management, the role of

management, take-aways, conclusion, and references.

3. Team Expectation.

· We expect each team member to communicate timely and proactively. If help is

needed, it is important to reach out to the group proactively to seek assistance.

· Each of us is expected to be engaged and involved in the meeting discussion and

any assignment.

· We also expect each of us to go to the meeting fully prepared. For example, if an

assignment needs to be finished prior to the meeting, it is key that we finish them prior

to the meeting.

· We encourage each team member to give feedback if she thinks things need to be

changed or if any issues occur.

· If any team member is not on top of the assignment, she will be addressed by the

group. That is why it is essential to pay attention to the deadlines and seek help

proactively if needed.

· Escalation will be passed to the professor if as a group we can’t resolve any issues

by ourselves.

Here’s the conflict-resolution process we will follow

ü 1. Identify the issue/problem

ü 2. Generate options through team discussion.

ü 3. Select the best solution to resolve the conflict.

ü 4. Get the acknowledgement from all parties that they will work on

improving the issue.

· We can make decisions together as a group, so everyone’s input is appreciated.

Here’s the decision-making process we will follow:

ü 1. Identify the item that needs a decision

ü 2. Generate alternative options through team discussions

ü 3. Evaluate the alternatives

ü 4. Select the best option

· We expect each team member to treat and communicate with each other with

respect and professionalism.

4. Meeting Items

· We plan to meet once a week to ensure we meet the project deadline and answer

any questions the team has.

2. What is project quality management?

Project quality management is a process used to measure the quality of all activities that are
performed by the organization and taking the proper action/steps in order for the project to
achieve the required quality that is needed. Project quality management is broken into three
processes that are as follows:

1. Quality planning helps the project manager understand what may impact their
project as well as how their processes to complete the project are impacting it.
Essentially this will help the project manager create a quality management plan and
provide the standards/metrics for the project.

2. Perform quality assurance is making sure that all the planned activities within the
project meet all of the needed requirements. Basically, implementing the checklist
and from the quality planning and making sure the project is within its baseline. If the
project is not, this is when corrective actions take place. This helps the project
manager take the necessary measures to make changes to what is impacting the
project/to what is impacted.

3. Perform quality control is monitoring the results to see if they are within quality
standards. With this, project managers can identify ways to fix or get rid of
inadequate performance.

Project quality management applies to all projects regardless of the project and output itself.
Project teams are required to deliver a certain product that must meet the standards set. Project
quality management helps to make sure that product meets these standards in the most
efficient way possible.

3. Why is project quality management necessary?

a. Project quality management is important as it can help control the cost of
the project. Controlling the cost of the project is important to ensure that
you don’t overspend and cause additional risks to the project. Quality
management helps establish standards confirming those standards. You
can confirm these standards through effective communication with your
team. Most importantly it helps determine the steps to achieve the quality
standards. By having a strong quality management process, you will lower
your risk of product failure which will also lower the risk of unsatisfied and
unhappy clients or customers.
b. It can be a lot of work to ensure your project quality management, but this
effort is worth it to ensure that your project is successful. In a project, it is
important to control the cost of your project to not overspend and cause
your project to cost too much. Determining, establishing, and confirming
the standards will also help your project to go smoothly.

4. Describe at least 6 key attributes of project quality management.

Project quality management can apply to any type of project regardless of the type of
project. Project quality management incorporates the processes and happenings that
are used to understand and achieve the quality of the deliverables of a project.
Understanding the most common quality characteristics are important.
1. Performance/identifying standards are the expectations of specific targets that
are required to be met during the duration of a project. Metrics can also be a form
of specific targets that hold the project and team accountable. Organizations can
create their own or follow a source that guides project teams; for example, ISO
programs.
2. Functionality is an attribute that standardizes a teams foundation. Goals are set
to implement a clear quality policy. This element answers the who, where and
how quality will be determined during the project lifetime.
3. Customer satisfaction is a benefit from having a robust quality assurance
program. When teams meet or exceed expectations customers will accept the
results without as much push back but they will also come back for additional
work in the future. Following up and understanding the customer's needs or
expectations early on in a project is key.
4. Planning is a quality process that assists project teams to identify key
requirements, deliverables and maps out how documentation will be provided to
shareholders. Quality planning is important for project budgets, in the event a
change is made early on during the planning stages. Cost associated with the
change early in the project will cost less than during the final stages of a project.
5. Time management is a core feature that needs to be a top priority in a project or
team environment. Establishing expectations around deadlines, follow up and
project completions help ensure team and customers are aligned.
6. Dependability/reliability are important attributes within project quality
management. Project managers must remain consistent in their expectations,
relationship building, management techniques and leadership techniques.
Consistency is key and helps anchor projects to ensure successful completion.
