welcome,
dear artist of life!
Congratulations on making the important choice to honor your dreams and goals in 2019. This is a
huge step towards living your dream life—a life designed by you, for you!
I’ve been using a yearly workbook since 2014 (the year I started Lavendaire) and I can’t begin to
tell you all the amazing benefits to having one. I found clarity and guidance to help me change my
life. During my early twenties, I was incredibly lost with no sense of direction and it was incredibly
frustrating. Fast forward to now, I absolutely love the life I’ve created today.
That kind of transformation doesn’t happen overnight, but over years of self-discovery and
exploration. Lucky for you, I’ve compiled all of the exercises that have helped me create my dream
life into this very workbook.
In this third edition of the Artist of Life Workbook, I’ve listened to feedback, then redesigned
and added more exercises to make this experience even more valuable. I’m confident that if you
commit to filling out this workbook and reviewing it often, you will see change and growth in 2019
that will astonish you.
Within these pages lie the clarity, direction, and confidence you’ll need to make your wildest
dreams, goals and intentions come true.

hello,
2019
Now it’s time to ring in the new year and soak in its unbounded potential. This is such an
exciting time, because anything can happen.
There’s nothing that can’t be accomplished with razor-sharp focus and crystal-clear clarity.
Let’s begin, shall we?
my theme for 2019:
Write your theme for 2019 above. Your new year theme is a word/phrase that represents what you
want to bring into your life and continue to focus on throughout the year. It’s your guiding light.

vision board
Create a vision board for 2019! A vision board is a powerful tool to help you visualize, focus on,
and manifest the life you want to live.
directions
• Decide whether you want to create your vision board digitally using Pinterest or Photoshop, or
the old-fashioned way using photos & magazine cut outs.
• Collect photos & words that inspire you and catch your attention.
• Look at your vision board daily to attract your desires.

current me vs. future me
Current Me vs. Future Me is an exercise I created in March 2012 (see photo) because I was in such
a negative, depressing place in my life. Since then, I did this exercise once a year in the same
notebook, and it’s been crazy to see how my “current me” doodles have increasingly looked like
my “future me” doodles! Visit the online resources link (p. 54) to see my current me vs. future me
drawings from 2012-2017.
directions
• On the next page, draw your current self. Paint the picture of what you currently look, feel,
think, and act like in this moment.
• Then, draw your ideal future self, where you want to be exactly one year from now. Paint the
picture of what you look, feel, think, and act like in that moment.
• Compare the two—how different is the future self from who you are now? What changes would
have to be made to support that transformation? Strive to take small steps towards becoming
that ideal future self, starting today.

self love
Before we go on to set your goals for the year, let’s first focus on you. Change starts from within,
so you must create a solid foundation to work with.
Take a look in the mirror. Do you love and adore this person? Do you see beauty? Do you see
strength? Would you do anything to make this person happy?
This year, make time to pour love & care into your most important relationship: your relationship
with yourself.
Designing a beautiful life begins with self love. Self love breeds self confidence, self worth, self
respect, self forgiveness. Do not underestimate its power.
LAVENDAIRE.COM 19
about me
The first step to developing self love and living a life you love is knowing yourself and what
matters to you. In the circle below, draw yourself and/or write your name. Then answer the
prompts to describe yourself.

What matters to me? What do I get excited about?

Pro tip: Call your parents to thank them for giving you the best gift possible—life.

designing my habits
Habits are the building blocks of your lifestyle. Practiced consistently, habits add up to make a
significant impact in your life. Choose them wisely!
Pick one habit change from your lists above that would make the most meaningful difference in
your life if you practiced it daily. Start working on that habit first!
For each habit, make sure to clear up any blocks so that you can fully commit to making a change.
Ask yourself:
• What obstacles are in my way? What are my biggest excuses?
• What do I need to do to overcome these blocks?
Pro tip: Build slowly—don’t overwhelm yourself with too many new changes at once.
Choose one habit change to focus on for at least 21 days. Once you’ve solidified that habit,
choose another one to focus on.
LAVENDAIRE.COM 26
designing my habits
One method to building new habits is called habit stacking. You build a new habit by stacking it
before or after a current habit. My favorite way to habit stack is by adding habits to my morning
and evening routines.

You’re doing amazing so far! Now it’s time to set clear goals and intentions in all areas of your life.
This is where you will get crystal clear on what you want in every aspect of your life. Clarity is
power. With clarity, you will know what exactly to focus on, and you’ll discover that whatever you

your life.
Start by filling out what speaks to you first. There may be some overlap as you go, and that’s okay.
These pages are here to help you clarify your dream life in detail. Let them guide you toward your
deepest desires.
Pro tip: Be as specific as possible with your goals and know why you want to achieve them. Later,
you can plan and execute your goals using the Goal Book on p. 57.

lessons
for the journey
Pursuing your dreams is not for the faint of heart. As fun as it is to set goals and dream big, it’s not
always easy to stay committed and motivated throughout the journey. Here are some tips to help
you stay consistent and on track with your goals, as well as overcome any obstacles you may face
along the way.
LAVENDAIRE.COM 43
how to stay committed
1. Review your goals often and remember why you set those goals. Write your goals in a
place where you will read them daily or weekly. Set a reminder in your calendar to review this
workbook monthly. The more you re-read your responses and remember your “why,” the more
2. Break down your goals into small, easy, actionable steps and work on the most important tasks
first. Remember that any action is better than no action, and that “done is better than perfect.”
Use the Goal Book (p. 57) to plan your quarterly & monthly goals and reflect on your progress
3. Keep yourself accountable. One way is to track your actions with the Habit Tracker (p. 61).
Once you see your progress on paper, you’ll be motivated to keep it going. You can also find a
4. No excuses. The only thing that can come between you and your goals are your excuses.
Notice when you make them and stop yourself! If you want something bad enough, you can
5. Self-forgiveness. Nobody is perfect and the path to greatness is not linear; rather, it’s an
ongoing wave of ups and downs. If you fall off track, just pick yourself back up and try again.
Don’t waste time feeling bad about it. Keep going no matter what.

on fear
Let’s talk about our friend, Fear.
Fear is a natural emotion that happens to all of us. The purpose of your fear is to keep you safe
from danger, so anything risky, new and unknown will conjure up feelings of fear.
The key here is not to erase fear completely—that’s impossible. Rather, the key is to acknowledge
that fear, and take action anyway.
fear setting
Inspired by Tim Ferriss, Fear Setting is an exercise that helps you address and analyze your
rational and irrational fears. It helps you manage your fears, allowing you to prepare for them
without letting them take over.
On the next page (or on a separate piece of paper), complete the fear setting exercise by listing
all the fears you have about pursuing your dreams.
At the end of it, you’ll realize that even if your worst fears came true, you would be able to survive
them. As long as you’re still alive and breathing in the end, you’re okay. Life goes on.

goal book
from dream to reality
Welcome to the beginning of your new life. Now here is the fun part: This is the space where you
get to plan out your goals and bring them to reality.
Achieving your goals begins with prioritizing what’s important, breaking it down into actionable
steps, then focusing on one task at a time.
What is the most important goal or project you want to start working on now? Begin by writing
that in your quarterly and monthly goals. Then follow the prompts to create an action plan for your
goal.
At the end of each month, reflect on your progress and use that feedback to do better the next
month. Strive for continuous improvement so that you’re constantly growing.
Also, take time to review your responses in the entire workbook at the end of each month. That
way, you remain focused on the goals and intentions you set for yourself at the beginning of the
year.
Remember, you are in control of your life. This workbook will only work if you take action and do
the work. Good luck!
