The Ancient Secrets of Daniel

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the
book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to
and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
(Dan. 12:4)

17
Introduction to Daniel 7 from Revelation 17

Revelation 17 introduces Daniel 7 to affirm its place in time.

Put on your thinking cap; it’s a jigsaw puzzle. Here’s the picture:
Seven supernatural kings ruled seven empires; ostensibly, each
had one king, but the scarlet beast was the most cunning of all.
Young’s Literal Translation is underscored on critical points:
8
`The beast that thou didst see: it was, and is not; and it
is about to come up out of the abyss, and to go away to
destruction, and wonder shall those dwelling upon the
earth, whose names have not been written upon the scroll
of the life from the foundation of the world, beholding the
beast that was, and is not, although it is.
9‘
Here is the mind that is having wisdom; the seven
heads are seven mountains, upon which the woman doth
sit, 10 and there are seven kings, the five did fall, and the
one is, the other did not yet come, and when he may
come, it behoveth him to remain a little time; 11 and the
beast that was, and is not, he also is eighth, and out of
the seven he is, and to destruction he doth go away.
12
`And the ten horns that thou sawest, are ten kings, who
a kingdom did not yet receive, but authority as kings the
same hour do receive with the beast,13 these have one
mind, and their own power and authority to the beast they
shall give over; (Rev. 17:8-13 YLT)
To see what he saw, imagine standing beside him when the
angel came to John: the scarlet beast was here; now it’s not, but
it still exists. (17:8) After Jesus ascended to the Father, the fiery
red dragon was not here, but was losing a war in heaven (in Rev.
12:9). Banished from heaven to earth, the red dragon, the scarlet
beast, … was about to come up out of the abyss (in 17:8 YLT).
Five are fallen and one is. (17:10) John is on Patmos, exiled
by Rome in 95 AD with the sixth king ruling Rome. The dragon
is absent, so he’s not king of Rome, but is about to come up to
deceive the church by Constantine, the caesar who’d favor her.
Safe in Rome’s arms, she conceded the faith for unity with
the throne. After Constantine died, in 476 the beast that came up
caused Rome to fall by stirring up savages against her. (pp. 47-49)
In 752 more barbaric invasions terrified the pope who used a
forged document to give the fallen empire to the church.f Thus,
its illegitimate king, the fiery red dragon, came to rule the sixth
capital city, Rome, for a very different empire.g
19
Introduction to Daniel 7

In 800 the pope crowned the king of France Charlemagne as

the first “Holy Roman Emperor.”h In 962 a pope solicited the
cruel Germanic king Otto the Great to co-rule hundreds of lands,
later called the “Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation.”i
The apostasy began when the fearful church turned from the
Bible’s words. Artfully exploiting the church by fear and deceit,
the dragon took it as another Roman empire. In a thousand and
six years, its church empire fell to the recently crowned French
consul, and Rome was conquered by the last of the seven kings.
And the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must
continue a short space. (17:10b) The seventh king vanquished
Rome in 1806 by Napoleon. In 1814 and 1816, an alliance of
kings twice defeated and exiled Bonaparte whose empire lasted
only eight years.j Even so, he turned a few hundred duchies and
fiefs into a hundred lands. The Treaty of Vienna (1815) merged
them into thirty-nine states when the seventh king fell in 1816.
By defeating Austria in 1866 and France in 1870, Bismarck
took its states for the German Confederation of Prussia, a Second
German Reich [after the REGN] in 1871.k Berlin was its capital
and later the capital of the Weimar Republic, created in 1919.l
Five preconditions unveil the scarlet beast: 1.) Seven kings
fall. 2.) Then ten receive kingdoms. 3.) At the time of the ten, the
eighth of the seven rises. 4.) [The ten] have one mind, and give
their power and strength to the [scarlet] beast. 5.) he goes to
perdition (in 17:11-13). Seven kings fall before ten others receive
nations; then the scarlet beast John sees rises as the eighth of the
seven, and the ten give him their power until his death.
After inciting WW1, Austro-Hungary, Germany, Bulgaria,
and the Ottoman Empire were defeated.m The Versailles Treaty
(1920) redefined the nations. In Europe, twelve countries were
formed; two were neutral, n and another ten kings received power
and authority. Then the eighth out of the seven, the scarlet beast,
rose for the Third Reich [of the REGN].o (17:11-12)
After the ten kings received their kingdoms from the treaty,
in 1933 Hitler rose in a little horn as a chancellor with eyes like
the eyes of man and a mouth speaking great things. (Dan. 7:8) p
The treaty had given ten kings the nations they’d give to the
beast who left two mountainous neutral lands undisturbed. (17:13)
Prophecy and history guide us through Daniel 7 where the beast
was slain and sent to perdition after losing the greatest war yet.

The Ancient Secrets

CHAPTER 1 • Wild Beasts!

7 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel

saw a dream and visions of his head as he lay in his
bed. Then he wrote down the dream and told the sum of
the matter. 2 Daniel declared, “I saw in my vision by
night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring
up the great sea. 3 And four great beasts came up out of
the sea, different from one another. 4 The first was like a
lion and had eagles' wings. Then as I looked its wings
were plucked off, and it was lifted up from the ground
and made to stand on two feet like a man, and the mind
of a man was given to it. 5 And behold, another beast, a
second one, like a bear. It was raised up on one side. It
had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth; and it was
told, ‘Arise, devour much flesh.’ 6 After this I looked, and
behold, another, like a leopard, with four wings of a bird
on its back. And the beast had four heads, and dominion
was given to it. 7 After this I saw in the night visions, and
behold, a fourth beast, terrifying and dreadful and
exceedingly strong. It had great iron teeth; it devoured
and broke in pieces and stamped what was left with its
feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before
it, and it had ten horns. 8 I considered the horns, and
behold, there came up among them another horn, a little
one, before which three of the first horns were plucked
up by the roots. And behold, in this horn were eyes like
the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things.
9
“As I looked,
thrones were placed,
and the Ancient of Days took his seat;
his clothing was white as snow,
and the hair of his head like pure wool;
his throne was fiery flames;
its wheels were burning fire.
10
A stream of fire issued
and came out from before him;
a thousand thousands served him,
and ten thousand times ten thousand stood
before him;
the court sat in judgment,
and the books were opened.

21
The Ancient Secrets
11
“I looked then because of the sound of the great words
that the horn was speaking. And as I looked, the beast
was killed, and its body destroyed and given over to be
burned with fire. 12 As for the rest of the beasts, their
dominion was taken away, but their lives were prolonged
for a season and a time.
13
“I saw in the night visions,
and behold, with the clouds of heaven
there came one like a son of man,
and he came to the Ancient of Days
and was presented before him.
14
And to him was given dominion
and glory and a kingdom,
that all peoples, nations, and languages
should serve him;
his dominion is an everlasting dominion,
which shall not pass away,
and his kingdom one
that shall not be destroyed.
15
“As for me, Daniel, my spirit within me was anxious,
and the visions of my head alarmed me. 16 I approached
one of those who stood there and asked him the truth
concerning all this. So he told me and made known to
me the interpretation of the things. 17 ‘These four great
beasts are four kings who shall arise out of the earth.
18
But the saints of the Most High shall receive the king-
dom and possess the kingdom forever, forever and ever.’
19
“Then I desired to know the truth about the fourth
beast, which was different from all the rest, exceedingly
terrifying, with its teeth of iron and claws of bronze, and
which devoured and broke in pieces and stamped what
was left with its feet, 20 and about the ten horns that were
on its head, and the other horn that came up and before
which three of them fell, the horn that had eyes and a
mouth that spoke great things, and that seemed greater
than its companions. 21 As I looked, this horn made war
with the saints and prevailed over them, 22 until the
Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given for the
saints of the Most High, and the time came when the
saints possessed the kingdom. (Daniel 7:1-22 ESV)
[v. 9: Aram.: remâh, set up/placed/set] (Continued)

22
Wild Beasts!
23
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth king-
dom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all king-
doms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread
it down, and break it in pieces.
24
And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings
that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he
shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three
kings.
25
And he shall speak great words against the most High,
and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think
to change times and laws: and they shall be given into
his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
26
But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his
dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
27
And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of
the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to
the people of the saints of the most High, whose king-
dom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall
serve and obey him.
28
Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my
cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance
changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.
(Daniel 7:23-28) [Beasts are invisible but lead great rulers.]
The Sea
The Great Sea appears fourteen times in the Word, clearly
the waters of the Mediterranean, the western border of Israel.1 In
Babylon Daniel envisions the distant Mediterranean Sea, agitated
by four winds. During perilous days four beasts rise, not just out
of a sea or many waters, but from the Great Sea. These beasts
are great kings with thrones who rise out of the earth (in 7:17).
The Lion
4
The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I
watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted
up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a
man, and a man’s heart was given to it. (Dan. 7:4 NKJV)
The rampant lion upright on two feet stood for England since
the 17th century. Other nations have had lions, but hers began on
all fours when Richard the Lion Heart first adopted its beast on
the Great Seal in the 12th century.2 In 1603 King James I set the
lion up on two feet; in 1611 he commissioned the first official
translation of the Holy Bible in the English language.3 (p. 128)
23
The Ancient Secrets

In the 18th century, her colonies in America were freed from

their motherland just as the eagle’s wings were plucked off the
lion’s back, so this historical event was after the revolution.
Sixty years later in 1837, Queen Victoria was on the throne.
The Christian queen chose Benjamin Disraeli as prime minister.
PM for two terms, he was the first Jew with an important role in
the British government and the queen’s closest confidante till her
reclusion after her husband, Albert, died.4
When she gained international sovereignty in the Near East,
Disraeli named her, “Empress of India.”5 In 1900 her empire was
the largest in history, with one-fourth the land mass on earth and
one-fifth of its population.6 English became the world’s second
language, and the gospel circled the globe.
In a letter to Lord Rothschild in 1917, England’s Secretary
of State Balfour proposed British-ruled Palestine for the Jews.
After WW1 on April 25, 1920, the “Balfour Declaration of Intent
to Establish a Zionist State for the Jews”7 became international
law by the “Palestine Mandate” at the San Remo Conference in
Italy.8 Its borders were defined by the Allies until April 1921
when oil-rich Arabs pressed Great Britain for more land.9
Arabs allegedly populated 90% of all the land, so Churchill
partitioned 77% as Trans-Jordan, east of the river. The League of
Nations offered 23% of the original land grant for the Jews, but
the league lacked the military power to enforce its decisions.
In 1938 Hitler invaded German-speaking European lands. In
an effort to avoid conflict with the Nazis, Neville Chamberlain
proposed annexing the land around Czechoslovakia and added its
natural resources for Hitler in the infamous “Munich Pact.”10
The dictator proved land for peace wasn’t what he wanted after
all. When he attacked Poland on September 1, 1939, Britain and
France declared war—but too late.11 If they’d foreseen what was
coming, they would have challenged Germany at the start.
Out of Parliament, Winston Churchill, who loved the Jews,
could only watch as Britain’s “White Paper” suppressed Jewish
immigration and limited their land holdings in what had become
British Palestine.12 He was incensed. Then in May 1940, politics
changed. After appeasement failed, the prime minister resigned.
A man’s heart was given to it when the king chose Churchill to
lead the empire for the rest of the war. (7:4) His passion for Israel
helped guide the course of history.13 [Aram.: lebab, heart]
24
Wild Beasts!

Certain God had chosen him, the man was fearless. Germany
bombed London while newsreels caught Winston as he walked
her streets, lifting people from the ruins. Brits were thrilled by
the king’s choice whose courage inspired a nation. Churchill’s
gifts of oratory and diplomacy won Roosevelt’s favor as well,
but after the war, the PM lost reelection to a socialist with no
sympathy for the Jews.
The Bear
Following the fall of the Russian Tsar Nicholas II, during the
February 1917 Revolution, various parties vied for power.14 A
provisional government stepped in.15 Soon the fallen bear rose
up on one side when three fascist leaders incited a socialist revo-
lution. The bear had taken them in. Their voices established the
Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in 1922.16
5
“And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It
was raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its
mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: ‘Arise,
devour much flesh!’ (Dan. 7:5 NKJV)
Karl Marx, who’d forsaken God, and Friedrich Engels, his
benefactor, were Germans living in England when they wrote
and published “The Communist Manifesto” in 1848.17 After they
died, its hypothesis grew popular. In twenty-five years, Vladimir
Lenin, Josef Stalin, and Leon Trotsky implemented their violent
revolutionary ideas to create the USSR. Lenin spearheaded the
October Revolution of 1917, which overthrew the provisional
government to make the state its people’s god.18
After executing the tsar and his family, Lenin’s premiership
was undisputed. Trotsky led its Red Army.19 Stalin was general
secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party until
Lenin’s death in 1924 when he replaced him. The new premier
ordered the execution of the intelligentsia, killing or imprisoning
millions of political enemies with Christians and Jews. Trotsky,
a Jew himself, absconded to Mexico where his comrade ordered
his assassination in 1940.20
The Terrible Beast
Pillaged by the Visigoths in 410, Rome fell to the Vandals in
476. The city paid the Huns, the fiercest tribe of all, to stay out,
but Huns drove the other tribes in. After Attila’s death in 453,
25
The Ancient Secrets

most of the tribes disbanded throughout Europa, but the Huns

migrated to Austria and Germania where they raised families.21
In 752 Pope Stephen II (III) produced a fraudulent paper,
giving Rome’s imperial power to the pope. Using “the Donation
of Constantine,” Stephen hired Pippin II of France to conquer the
Lombards and win Italia’s central cities for the church.22
In 800 Leo III crowned Charlemagne, Pippin’s first son. The
so-called “Holy Roman Emperor” was also king of France and of
the Lombards.23 At times with kingless years among them, lords
of fiefs and kinglets were called “holy” as Rome’s emperors. 24
In 962 John XII sought protection from the jihadists, looking
to the brutish Otto the Great of Germania to shield the church of
Rome.25 Otto had no formal government or capital, often true of
her emperors. German kings went to war on behalf of the “Holy
Roman Empire of the German Nation,” (H)REGN, periodically,
for her remaining eight hundred forty-four years.
The greatest city of the empire was Rome, just a façade of a
capital whose government was gone; only her relics remained.
An amalgamation of hundreds of private lands—fiefs, territories,
hamlets, duchies—folk without nations became a church empire
whose people were defenseless.26 The church hired mercenaries
to enforce her dogma, indoctrinating and oppressing millions.
Prior to 1059 emperors chose or deposed popes by disputes,
power grabs, corruption, and scandals. For many years, popes
controlled kings, threatening them with excommunication, which
they feared would send them to hell. Out of its church, believers
in Jesus Christ were imprisoned, tortured, and burned at the stake
for having a Bible, preaching the gospel, praying in their native
tongue, or rejecting its orthodox dogma [ortho + doxa = right
opinion]; others were killed simply for being born Jewish. 27
Napoleon’s victory of 1806 ended the era of the imperialist
church. His French Confederation, a watershed in history, was
independent of the Vatican. He revolutionized education, revived
the arts, and reformed the government, consolidating its lands by
reducing hundreds to one hundred.28
England, Prussia, and Holland defeated Bonaparte at Water-
loo in 1816. Its Congress of Vienna (1815) merged his lands into
thirty-nine states, the German Federation, dominated by Austria
till Prussia won the Seven Weeks’ War in 1866.29 In 1870 its
kaiser defeated the French invasion, gaining a German Empire in

1871. Making Berlin its capital, Otto von Bismarck, the “Iron
Chancellor,” altered his role to become minister-president.30
The Little Dictator
As he lay in bed dreaming, Daniel envisioned the tumultuous
waves of the Mediterranean, and four great beasts came up from
the sea, diverse one from another—supernatural kings, like the
scarlet beast, worked by men. The most formidable beast had ten
horns on its head, the horns John would see over six centuries
later, but here, look—a little horn rose up after them! (7:8)
Exactly five years after a political assassination presaged the
First World War, on June 28, 1919, the Treaty of Versailles was
signed to go into effect in January 1920. It split the empires into
twelve nations; two were politically neutral. Ten kings received
their crowns (in Rev. 17:12), not gaining them from war, but from
a treaty.31 In twelve years, a corporal was rising in Germany.
Gabriel spoke to Daniel and described the kingdom that rose
over a century after the church empire fell. Ten horns rose up in
central Europe, the red dragon’s earlier domain, and a little horn
rose after the ten when a corporal became a chancellor.
The scriptures confirm that the corporal received the scarlet
beast who reigned more than a hundred years before him. Thus a
little eleventh horn, an oddity, had eyes like the eyes of man and
a mouth speaking great things (in 7:7-8). After the seventh king,
ten others rose; after them the scarlet beast was the eighth king in
the unlikely, strange little horn. (Dan. 7:8, p. 21; cf. Rev. 17:3)
They said the Great War would end all war, but hard times
were in the air. For twelve years Germans lived in the ashes and
memories of ruined hopes when the Great Depression overcame
them. Having lost their sons in the war, poverty deepened their
despair. Disheartened they cried out for hope and a future.
An Austrian citizen, Adolf Hitler was convicted of treason
and released from prison after serving eight months of an already
lenient five-year sentence.32 He applied for German citizenship
and signed up for the National Socialist German Worker’s Party,
known as Nazis. Thirty years after Bismarck, he mesmerized the
Germans, captivating their population with passionate speeches,
full of promises, flatteries, and convictions.
In 1930 its construction was finished, and Berlin’s Pergamos
Museum housed the Altar of Zeus, aka “the Altar of Satan.”33 In
27
The Ancient Secrets

1932 Hitler ran for president; with only one-third the vote, he
lost. Hindenburg, the incumbent, returned to office in failing
health and chose the former corporal as his chancellor. Leading
the armed forces, he held the second highest office in the land.
Hitler used his emergency powers to subvert his competitors.
The Parliament building burst into flames, the crisis by which he
put laws, civil rights, education, and culture under Nazi control.34
It didn’t take long; near the time of Hindenburg’s last breath
in August 1934, Adolf Hitler merged the roles of president and
chancellor and created a new government.35 He put his actions to
the vote and won by an overwhelming margin as der Führer, the
leader. After pinning runaway inflation on the Jews, he vowed,
“Change!” and seemed like a hero to his followers, commanding
their confidence.36 Like the god of this world, the man had power
over millions who clung to his every word.
Crafting a pledge of personal allegiance, he ordered his army
to honor its words as each soldier dedicated his life. The people
confidently followed suit en masse as he dismissed a democratic
republic to form a national socialist government.37
Europa had been shattered by ten kings without kingdoms
centuries before (in Rev. 17:12), but its lands were lost in WW1.
After the war, the ten received their crowns by a treaty in 1920
but gave them back to the dragon; and thus, he won his empire.
This passage reveals the German Empire under the eighth king:
12
The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have
not yet received a kingdom, but they receive authority as
kings with the beast for one hour. 13 These have one
purpose, and they give their power and authority to the
beast. (Rev. 17:12-13 NASB) [This was the scarlet beast.]
Impassioned crowds idolized Hitler, hanging his picture on
their walls. The Nazis silenced all opposition with propaganda,
using radio, cinema, and the press. Ten kings empowered him
after three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots (in 7:8).
He easily took them, like pulling up weeds, roots and all!38
1.) Germany’s republic fell after President Hindenburg died.
From corporal to chancellor to “Führer,” Hitler put the issue to
a vote. 95% of registered voters supposedly voted; 88% of the
plebiscite allegedly approved.39 A soft coup gained control of the
former republic of Germany, and tyranny consumed a nation.
28
Wild Beasts!

2.) Austria’s military conflicts and power transfers made her

government weak and vulnerable. Her instability encouraged the
malcontents to riot for their native son. Weighing his options, the
king conceded without a shot as thousands went to the streets to
welcome a dictator.40 Her people had agreed to the deceiver.
3.) Czechoslovakia was like a gift to Hitler after the Munich
Pact, signed September 30, 1938, by Italy, Germany, France, and
Britain. The agreement infamously gave the Sudetenland, i.e.,
the German-speaking areas around the nation, to Hitler as “land
for peace.” In an afterthought, the rights to electrical power, coal,
and steel were granted. Hitler owned Czechoslovakia in a day. 41
8“
I was considering the horns, and there was another
horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom
three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots.
And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man,
and a mouth speaking pompous words. (Dan. 7:8 NKJV)
The Rhineland loved him, but Belgium opposed him. He
took northern Italy, western Poland, and France whose eastern
part was also in the REGN.42 Its horns agreed: These have one
mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
(Rev. 17:13) All attempts to end it failed.
20
and the ten horns that were on its head, and the other
horn which came up, before which three fell, namely,
that horn which had eyes and a mouth which spoke
pompous words, whose appearance was greater than
his fellows. (Dan. 7:20 NKJV)
He plucked up Germany, Austria, and Czechoslovakia to
gain Poland, Belgium, Slovenia, Luxembourg, France, Italy, and
the Netherlands—the former (H)REGN, marking a map for more.
Turkey, and then Hungary, which was resistant, joined him.43
The beast prevailed over the saints, but God gave them the
Kingdom and sent him to perdition. (7:21-22; Rev. 17:8) Daniel’s
saints were Jews—the holy people in 165 BC. (Dan. 8:24)
The Altar of Pergamos
In 1889 the Altar of Zeus went to Berlin from Pergamos.
(Rev. 2:13) Two thousand years earlier, Romans had joined the
Greeks who offered human sacrifices on its altar.44 The Romans

29
The Ancient Secrets

visited its site in the early centuries when killing Christians was
a sport. In 1941 Nazis were slaughtering Jews in Europe.
Neither the kaiser [caesar] nor von Bismarck the chancellor
was the little horn. (7:8) The prophecy waited for the man to rise
after the ten horns received their crowns. Thereafter, the terrible
beast spoke by the voice of a corporal who boasted of a super
race, targeting the Jews. A staunch Darwinist, the fascist touted
ethnic cleansing; the blasphemous beast had taken him in.45
On May 22, 1939, Mussolini and Hitler signed an agreement
for international defense. The “Pact of Friendship and Alliance”
was called the “Pact of Steel.” 46 On September 1, 1939, Nazis
invaded Poland, violating the Munich Pact by the act of war.
Hirohito of Japan joined the “Friendship Alliance.” It was
allegedly formed to “… establish and maintain a new order of
things calculated to promote the mutual prosperity and welfare
of the peoples concerned. … to extend cooperation to such
nations in other spheres of the world as may be inclined to put
forth endeavors along lines similar to their own, in order that
their ultimate aspirations for world peace may be realized.” 47
Though multitudes believed them, all three were liars.
A truculent strategist groomed an army of terrorists, and ten
kings whose nations he’d gain agreed. “Change!” appealed to the
masses, not imagining what it meant. As he commanded them,
men committed crimes against humanity. Catholic and Protestant
clergy largely ignored the genocide and neglected the apostle’s
warnings to not boast against the Jews. (Rom. 11:18) The Vatican
agreed by “compromise and conciliation”; thus the dragon led a
nation, many whose ancestors were Huns. The Great Depression
was the crisis that abetted the rise of Nazism and its holocaust.48
Of Europe’s nine million Jews, only one-third survived. And I
will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as
silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call
on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and
they shall say, The LORD is my God. (Zec. 13:9)
Germany was one of the largest nations in Europe, yet Hitler
convinced its people to shed blood for more land as in the Far
East Hirohito did the same. The founder of radical Islam also
colluded with Hitler.49 Mussolini and Hirohito added to the war
dead—sixty million souls; one-tenth were Jews.

30
Wild Beasts!

Martin Luther discovered the scripture for everlasting life by

grace through faith and turned men’s blindness into sight, but in
later writings, his animus for the Jews blinded him. Stiff-necked
to believe, Jews were blinded for the nations to see, but Paul said
they’d be cut off but grafted into their olive tree again; unnatural
branches, gentiles, can also be cut off from their tree—unless we
show God’s kindness.50 (Rom. 11:22) Generations read Luther’s
scornful words that abetted the holocaust. At the judgment seat
of Christ, we must account for our deeds, whether good or evil.
November 9, 1938, Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass,
authorized Germans to pillage Jewish shops, smash windows,
ruin merchandise, and vandalize their homes, making the Jews
pay for damages. Nazis banned religious meetings and burned
synagogues and books, even Holy Bibles!51 Bigotry intensified
from denigration to rock-throwing; from molestation to public
murder.
In 1942 Hitler led his army against his allies in Leningrad,
Moscow, and Stalingrad, killing perhaps a million Jews along
the way.52 A frigid Russian winter was more than the returning
troops could endure; a multitude froze to death in its fields.
Quick like a Leopard!
President Woodrow Wilson appointed a former senator from
New York Franklin D. Roosevelt as secretary of the navy from
1912–20. F.D.R. contracted infantile paralysis while visiting an
orphanage in 1921. He was thirty-nine. Determined to persevere
though polio had paralyzed half his body, he met the challenge to
win the 1932 election.53 Across the world, von Hindenburg chose
Hitler as his chancellor, the role his hero Bismarck had enjoyed.
Eleven years after WW1, the sobering reality of the 1929
Stock Market Crash stifled the Roaring Twenties and yielded to
the Great Depression.54 The world’s economies dried up before
America’s Great Drought ended ten years later.55 By the grace of
God, she was unbeatable, perhaps cleansed by His judgments.
She had known the grief of WW1, having lost her sons in its
battles. In January 1941 Americans resisted the idea of engaging
in another foreign war, but on March 11, Congress passed the
Lend-Lease Act, providing battleships for British, Chinese, and
Russian forces.56 The U.S. government supported the British
Royal Navy by supplying her with ships in the Atlantic to defend
31
The Ancient Secrets

the British people from a conflict that also threatened our East
Coast. (When this writer asked for understanding, the leopard
shot through her in a vision like a high-speed documentary on
America at war!)
December 7, 1941: Japan attacked the U.S. naval base, Pearl
Harbor, Hawaii, where most of her ships were anchored. Out of
the blue, bombers targeted her navy, and isolationism ended.57
Two thousand four hundred three perished in the attack.58
On December 8, 1941, Roosevelt addressed a joint session of
Congress with the “Declaration of Intent to Declare War.” 59 The
Senate voted 82–0 and the House, 388–1.60 December 11: Hitler
and Mussolini declared war on America.61
After the catastrophes that preceded the Second World War,
the president saw the way to victory over adversaries who might
have otherwise consumed the world. His fortitude was required,
and providentially, his positive attitude was contagious.
WW1 politics had weakened her armed forces. She’d begun
rebuilding her air force but lacked trained troops, tanks, ships,
artillery, submarines, machine guns, rifles, hand guns, bombers,
canons, munitions, uniforms, backpacks, canteens, k-rations—all
the essentials of warfare.
Draft notices flooded post offices, calling men to duty, and
long lines formed around recruiting stations. Furniture, clothing,
and automobile factories were redesigned to make war products.
Nylon wasn’t for stockings anymore—it was for parachutes.
Joash sought Elisha for advice to defeat Aram. The prophet
who came after Elijah told him to strike a bunch of arrows on the
ground. He hit dirt three times, angering Elisha. Three weren’t
enough. Five or six would have consumed the enemy; its victory
relied on the king’s passion to win. (2 K. 13:14-19; cf. 2 K. 2)
In 1942 in his “State of the Union” message, the president
spoke to Congress and the national radio audience: “Speed will
count. Lost ground can always be regained—but time, never.
Speed will save lives; speed will save this Nation which is in
peril; speed will save our freedom and our civilization, and slow-
ness has never been an American characteristic!” 62
F.D.R. emphasized “speed” four times, calling for a leopard,
whose main asset is speed. Bound in a wheelchair, the president
had strength for the hour. His resonant voice led to America’s
greatest triumph. Her beast was an eagle but gained the speed of
32
Wild Beasts!

a leopard with the power of the eagle’s wings: her army, navy,
air force, and marine corps. She was made to rescue freedom
from the jaws and claws of the terrible beast.
“In 1940, the U.S. army was smaller than that of Rumania:
only 174,000 men in uniform, wearing tin hats and leggings
issued during WW1, and carrying rifles designed in 1903.” 63
Entering the conflict two years and three months late, “American
industry provided nearly two-thirds of all the Allied military
equipment produced during the [entire] war.” 64
Americans sacrificed what had seemed essential but paled in
comparison to helping their boys fight for freedom. Hollywood
inspired her to buy war bonds and use ration cards. Unemployed
people of color, homemakers, retirees, and the physically and
mentally challenged formed its workforce. Her union’s adage in
every household was, “The War was won at home.”
When the leopard propelled America to oppose tyranny, she
redirected the course of the war. Months after its tipping point,
her troops rescued Jews and political prisoners in concentration
camps. They were among the heroes whose generals, though
steeled in battle, wept for the gaunt survivors.
The president infuriated his Republican critics when the
Supreme Court agreed to pass his “Executive Order [90669] for
the Internment of Japanese Citizens.”65 He argued it would avert
a national crisis, but the country never forgot its national offense.
At the time of Daniel’s vision, none of these nations existed,
but twenty-five hundred years later, God used a world war to end
His vengeance and favor His chosen people by returning them to
their land and establishing the nation for His Kingdom to come.
(Is. 40:1-5; Jer. 16:16-18) Any attempt to divide God’s nation ends
in divisions of our own, and divided nations are an easy catch.
America rushed to a war half a world away, conscripting her
sons into the greatest conflict of all. Her leaders publicly prayed
for the wisdom and strength to win by the help of God, and the
God of Israel was with her. As the Lamb is a Lion, and the ser-
pent is a dragon, the nation of the eagle became a leopard by the
war. His nature is unchanging, but the Lamb of God is also the
Lion of Judah. Beasts and horns are metaphors of invisible kings
and their kingdoms, made visible when rulers impact the world.
We can only see men, but the kings in these battles are the
spiritual kind. The scarlet beast devoured and broke in pieces the
33

lands it gained by the ten kings centuries before they received

their kingdoms. They were on the dragon’s head when all seven
heads had crowns. (Revelation 12) Now his goal is the world.
As an alliance that went to war, three beasts, each different
from the other (in 7:3), defeated the enemy: the beast was slain,
and his body destroyed and given to the burning flame (in 7:11).
Decades later his bodyguard said Hitler ordered his body burned
and buried to prevent its discovery.66
In Daniel 8:24 Jews are holy ones, saints. Having promised
the land to their forefathers, God favored them. And judgment
was given to the saints of the Most High, and the time came that
the saints possessed the kingdom. (7:22) The Kingdom of David
would be established by first restoring the Jews to their land,
thus fulfilling God’s promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as
well as His oracles to the prophets.
After Roosevelt’s death, Japan killed over half as many of
the Allies in the Pacific as since its war began. Advisors assured
President Truman that a land invasion would cost a million lives.
After weighing the alternatives, August 6, 1945, he dropped the
hydrogen bomb on Hiroshima.67 With no truce in sight, three
days later, he targeted Nagasaki. It was suddenly clear: the
leopard was given dominion (in Dan. 7:6; cf. Rev. 13:2).
Keep watching the dates: September 1, 1939, Berlin invaded
Poland. On the 3rd, Britain and France declared war on Hitler.
The Pacific conflict officially ended with a treaty September 2,
1945, on Tokyo Bay.68 Peace came in the midst of its dates.
God messaged the nations by events on Gregorian calendar
dates. Biblically, “one” refers to unity; “three” is of God; “four”
concerns the earth; “five” is of grace or provision; “six” stands
for man; “seven” is perfect or complete; “eight” is a new start;
“ten” regards judgment; “twelve,” wisdom; “fifty” is for liberty.
David had more than enough stones to fell the giant when he
took five; with five loaves, Jesus fed five thousand men besides
women and children; five talents went to a servant who doubled
them. Each time the provision had plenty left over. God showed
the Jews grace and provision by granting them the Kingdom, not
by their own merit, or else grace is no longer grace. (Rom. 11:6)
Hitler’s “Final Solution” sent its first shipment of Jews from
ghettos to concentration camps in late 1941. Europe’s first death
camp was in Chelmno, Poland, operational December 8, the day
34
Wild Beasts!

America declared war on Japan.69 First entering Normandy the

U.S. ended the war in Europe on May 8, 1945, three years and
five months later with her forces still fighting in the Pacific.
Six years and six months after Kristallnacht, the Allies shut
down the last death camp, Stutthof, on May 9, 1945, after an
estimated six million Jews were murdered in Europe.70 Not only
Germany, but several European nations practiced anti-Semitism
and constructed concentration, work, and death camps.
Israel’s history proves God judges sin. As one nation under
God, America, like ancient Israel, turned from God who sent His
enemies to judge His own nation in 70 AD. His judgments were
terrible. Their sin was odious to Him before He scattered them:
19
And I scattered them among the heathen, and they
were dispersed through the countries: according to their
way and according to their doings I judged them. …
23
And I will sanctify my great name which was profaned
among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst
of them; And the heathen shall know that I am the LORD,
saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you
before their eyes. 24 For I will take you from among the
heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will
bring you into your own land. (Ezk. 36:19, 23-24)
24
Who gave up Jacob to the looter,
and Israel to the plunderers?
Was it not the LORD, against whom we have sinned,
in whose ways they would not walk,
and whose law they would not obey?
(Is. 42:24 ESV)
What’s a Head?
Is. 7:8 has a key: Rezin is the head of Damascus. The heads
on the leopard were its leaders. Usually, rosh described Israel’s
tribal leaders {349x}. [In Aram.: rë’sh is head. In Heb.: rö’sh is top,
foremost/ first.] The leopard was a beast unlike any other; her
quick arrival changed history; her four wings and four heads had
little in common with the other beasts.
6
“After this I looked, and there was another, like a
leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The
beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it.
(Dan. 7:6 NKJV) [Aram.: owph, bird {73x}. KJV has “fowls”
that eat flesh and fly {42x}; fowl is archaic; bird is correct.]
35
The Ancient Secrets

The U.S. Constitution names four officials as its legislative,

executive, and judicial heads: the president, speaker of the House
of Representatives, president of the Senate, and chief justice of
the Supreme Court serve in the governmental system of checks
and balances as the leaders of its four units, each with its unique
functions in her three branches of government.71
Their duties are in the first three Articles of the Constitution.
In Article 1 the speaker of the House and the majority leader of
the Senate conduct their sessions and speak on their behalf. The
Senate and the House create and vote on legislation, taxation,
and declarations of war and laws necessary for the operation of
the national government. Their qualifications, duties, and powers
are named in Sections 1–10, Article 1.
The House can impeach a president for bribery, treason, or
high crimes and misdemeanors. The Senate holds impeachment
trials, but far more often, its two houses represent their citizenry.
In Article 2 the president preserves, protects, and defends the
Constitution of the United States and is commander-in-chief of
the armed forces and national militia. As head of the executive
branch, he/she commissions officers and, by advice and consent
of the Senate, makes treaties and appoints ambassadors, judges,
justices of the Supreme Court, and other public ministers.
The president grants reprieves and pardons; ensures laws are
rightly executed; may issue executive orders, and may convene
or adjourn one or both houses of Congress. He/she ratifies or
vetoes congressional bills, but Congress can overturn a veto by a
two-thirds vote in each house. He/she makes policy and trade
pacts, approved by Congress. See the four sections of Article 2.
In Article 3 the chief justice is head of the Supreme Court as
approved by Congress. The court determines the constitutionality
of laws and treaties; tries cases of public ministers, consuls, and
ambassadors; of individuals and states; those between states, and
those of national concern. See the eight sections of Article 3.
Approaching the Throne
12a
`And the ten horns that thou sawest, are ten kings …
13
these have one mind, and their own power and
authority to the beast they shall give over; 14 these with
the Lamb shall make war, and the Lamb shall overcome
them, because Lord of lords he is, and King of kings,

36

and those with him are called, and choice, and stedfast.'
(Rev. 17:12a-14 YLT) [His supernatural army is in Heb. 11.]

In the distant future, the apostles would watch Him ascend to

a cloud, but in the mystery of eternity, Daniel saw the Son of
man rising into heaven out of the clouds after the victory of war.
Holy angels brought Him face to face with the Judge:
13
“I was watching in the night visions,
And behold, One like the Son of Man,
He came to the Ancient of Days,
And they brought Him near before Him.
14
Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a
kingdom,
That all peoples, nations, and languages should
serve Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
Which shall not pass away,
And His kingdom the one
Which shall not be destroyed. (Dan. 7:13-14 NKJV)
Now Jews are turning to Yeshua, and gentiles are wondering
if the age is ending.72 He was given everlasting dominion, glory,
and a Kingdom and wears a crown when He comes for the elect
immediately after the tribulation (in Dan. 7:14; Mat. 24:29).
14
‘Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and seated
on the cloud one like a son of man, with a golden crown
on his head, and a sharp sickle in his hand.15 And anoth-
er angel came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice
to him who sat on the cloud, “Put in your sickle, and
reap, for the hour to reap has come, for the harvest of
the earth is fully ripe.” (Rev. 14:14-15 ESV; cf. 1 Thes. 4:15-18)
February 4–11, 1945, Churchill, Stalin, and Roosevelt met in
Yalta, Ukraine, with plans to partition Germany and create the
United Naions.73 Seven weeks after the war, its Allies signed the
UN Charter in a skating rink in Flushing Meadows, NY. Article
80, page 15, avers the Balfour Declaration as international law.74
Not long afterward, the UN agreed to change their own inter-
national law by granting the Golan Heights to Syria for her oil,
despite her alliance with Hitler that cost them their sons. Then on
November 29, 1947, UN Resolution 181 gave the Jews a meager
portion of the original land grant.75 The general secretary of the

37
The Ancient Secrets

United Nations announced its tally as Jews listened to their RCA

Victors at home: “33 yes; 13 against; 10 abstentions.” 76
African and European borders were decided in Italy twenty-
five years earlier; in 1947 they increased, but the Jews’ borders
decreased.77 May 14, 1948: the Jews acquiesced, and Israel was
reborn with 12% of her borders from 1920.78 The celebration
ended when Egyptian warplanes roared over their heads at
midnight, and the War of Independence began.79 Though history
fulfills the prophecy of their return, resentment remains against
the little nation that belongs to God, but He repays their enemies.
In 1947 the Brits reduced the Jews’ land and lost an empire
by 1952. One of a commonwealth of fifty-four nations, the queen
is now a figurehead. The UK is left with England, Scotland,
Wales, and Northern Ireland.80 Great Britain no longer exists.
Jacob was in their genes with God by their side when they
reentered the Promised Land to face the giants again. As it was
with Gideon, a small, poorly equipped army battled the war-
hardened troops of Egypt, Lebanon, Trans-Jordan, Saudi Arabia,
Syria, and Iraq until the war ended in March 1949. Israel held
her ground for nations to know her Redeemer is the LORD.
In 1967 her enemies built up their arms again, announcing
their intentions, but in June the Six Day War began with a pre-
emptive strike by the Jews. Israel regained Samaria [“the West
Bank”]; Mt. Hermon [her Golan Heights], and Jerusalem; she
also restored the oil-rich Sinai to Egypt for peace. 81 (Lk. 21:24)
In 1989 the USSR economy collapsed.82 And the rest of the
beasts have caused their dominion to pass away: (7:12a YLT) The
Big Three controlled Germany after the war, but America and
Great Britain dissolved their dominion after her republic returned
in West Berlin. A bankrupt Russia left East Berlin. All three had
created the UN but gave up their authority over it, causing their
dominion to pass away, yet they continue for a season and a
time. (7:12b)
A Deceiver’s Diversity
He recalls the vision, but Daniel wants to hear more about
the last beast. The heavenly man sounds redundant, but is he?
(7:23-27) The fourth beast would return: 23 The fourth beast shall
be the fourth kingdom … diverse from all kingdoms … and shall
devour the whole earth. 24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom

38
Wild Beasts!

are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them;
and he shall be diverse from the first. (7:23-24)
The next empire (in Rev. 13:1) is given the power and throne of
the dragon. The angel is not repetitive by saying, the ten horns
out of this kingdom shall arise: and another shall rise after them
… diverse from the first. The first to rise after them was a little
horn; another is a beast with two horns like a lamb. (Rev. 13:11).
Babylon, his secret throne, had been in Pergamos; next in
Rome, then Berlin. When Berlin fell, the dragon gave his power,
his throne, and great authority to the leopard, the bear, and the
lion. (Rev. 13:2) The Big Three created the UN; Alger Hiss wrote
its charter after the war. Twenty-six allies signed it on June 26,
1945.83 By the power of ten horns and seven heads, unlike other
kingdoms, the next beast devours the whole earth (7:23) … and
power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues and nations.
And all who dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose
names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from
the foundation of the world. (Rev. 13:7b-8)
Out of this kingdom, the ten horns shall arise: they rise out
of a fourth beast, which devours the earth. And another shall rise
after them, diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings
(in Dan. 7:24). In Rev. 13:11 another rises after the ten again but
unlike the little horn that first rose after them to pluck up three,
after his Third Reich, the fourth beast puts down three.
The next beast rises with ten horns (in Rev. 13:1), and another
comes up after them—not like the first—not like the little horn,
nor as the beast rising before him with his throne. He has neither
ten horns and seven heads nor iron teeth and brass claws, but is a
religio-political beast with two horns like a lamb that speaks as a
dragon and takes authority over the throne: And he shall subdue
three kings (Dan 7:24)—namely, the three with his throne.
The other beast rises out of the earth. The heart of the earth
is perdition. With two horns like a lamb, he abases three kings by
his ancient authority after giving the beast great authority. [The
Greek interlinear tells us the dragon gave the beast its power, its
throne, and great authority. (Rev 13:2 ZGE)] Every word matters.
To distinguish the eras, its words turn to poetry and future
tense in Daniel, alluding to a dragon. Hard to spot, he winds his
way on a serpentine path of deceptions. Hiding in the darkness of
his evil schemes, he’s revealed by the history that hounds him.
39
The Ancient Secrets
24
And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings
that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he
shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three
kings. (Dan. 7:24)
The dragon’s Third Reich gained many nations. The beast in
13 rises to rule the earth as the dragon’s fourth kingdom. (Dan.
7:23) Long ago he stomped the lands to pieces, but he’ll devour
the whole world and tread it down, and break it in pieces too.
Bestial forms can alter. [Aram. shenâ is diverse {5x}, but is
change/alter {16x}] The red dragon is a serpent, a scarlet beast, a
little horn, a terrible beast, and another beast coming up out of
the earth… with two horns like a lamb, [he speaks] as a dragon.
One of ten had ruled Berlin, which was the first of three, plucked
up by the roots in 7:8. When Berlin was crushed, the war ended.
The Treaty of Paris restored its ten crowns by 1949 (in 7:11;
cf. Rev. 13:3; 17:8a). But the dragon could not return till Russia lost
its grip on East Berlin, and his throne, i.e., his head, was healed,
forty years past Paris. The head of Assyria is Damascus, the key
that applies here (from Is. 7:8). Heads are capitals of empires.
Divisions, Divisions!
Time, times, and half a time [in most versions] is literally time,
times, and a division of a time. (Dan. 7:25c YLT) [Aram.: pelag, split. In
KJV and Geneva Bible of 1599, the dividing of time {1x} the AKJV
{1x} and CWSOT {1x}. It’s used for the earth and its watercourses
{4x}—unequally divided, not halved.] Time, times, and a division of
a time pass till the tribulation ends; then the final signs of His
coming appear. (Mat. 24:29-31; cf. Rev 6:12-14). Its chosen ones are
taken up together to Jesus, but the beast fulfills his time on earth.
Biblical Hebrew months are thirty days long. The number of
times is more than three, but 1,260 days or forty-two months are
not the times here. Unlike time, times and half a time as forty-
two [30-day] months, or 1,260 days; it’s time, times, and the
dividing of a time—an unequal division, shortening its time. And
except those days be shortened, there should no flesh be saved:
but for the elect’s sake, those days shall be shortened. (Mat. 24:22,
29) Thus, the beast overcomes the saints in fewer than forty-two
months; then he musters the nations to war. (Rev. 16:13-14)
27
And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of
the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to
40
Wild Beasts!

the people of the saints of the most High, whose king-

dom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall
serve and obey him. (Dan. 7:27) [God’s Kingdom is forever.]
At the end of the age, the Kingdom is given to the people of
the saints—promised to Abraham—the elect from all nations, not
just their own, but everyone chosen to reign with Yeshua in His
Kingdom on earth. (Rev. 20:4-6) Only the chosen holy ones are
the people of the saints (in Gen. 18:18-19; 22:18; 26:4-5; Eph. 2:19).
If history is complicated, so is the future. Presumptuous, we
will be dismayed, but the one whose life abides in Yeshua will
not be disappointed.
An Eternal Promise
The LORD spoke to David by the prophet Nathan, saying that
David’s offspring, his own flesh and blood, would rule an ever-
lasting Kingdom established by God; furthermore, God Himself
would be the Father of the Son who’d be born in fulfillment of
His promise. Messiah would be David’s flesh and blood but by a
virgin birth (Is. 7:14). There could be no greater sign; otherwise,
David’s son couldn’t be his Lord, the eternal King; however, as
the only begotten Son of God, He fulfills the Word: The LORD
said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine
enemies thy footstool. (Ps. 110:1)
12
When your days are over and you rest with your an-
cestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you,
your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his king-
dom. 13 He is the one who will build a house for my
Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for-
ever. 14a I will be his father, and he will be my son.
(2 Sam. 7:12-14a NIV; cf. Jn. 1:1-14) – Nathan as God’s oracle.
6
This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ;
not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the
Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7For
there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father,
the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.
8
And there are three that bear witness on earth: the
Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree
as one. (1 Jn. 5:6-8 NKJV) – Jesus came out of a virgin, of
David’s lineage, and of the Father, the Spirit of the living God.
