A lot of men are doubtful of their skills and abilities. They believe that only women are good at

making money from home which is a misconception. Everyone can do home-based jobs

successfully.

With the rapid growth of technology, it has become the center of the economy. Technology

makes lives easier so as for job opportunities.

Nowadays, people do not rely only on physical stores and cash transactions basis. A lot of people

now are utilizing technology to get a faster transaction and less hassle. Thus, most employees

now are working online.

No more commutes to the workplace, warehouse, store, or wherever you live. You can

now carter for yourself and your family with hard work and creative ways of earning a steady

income by working online.

In online jobs, there is no restriction in terms of appearance, age, and gender so long as the

person knows how to do his/her job well.

Reasons Why Men Might Want to Work from Home

Today, work hours are being reduced and have a higher tendency from being a full-time

employee to part-time job opportunities in most companies because of the pandemic.

Below are some reasons why men choose to work from home:

 It allows you to do whatever you want since you are the boss/owner

 It provides work for unemployed

 It caters independent work

 It gives enough family time

 It offers the job you love

WHY START A HOME-BASED BUSINESS AS A MAN?

Many people have their reasons why they want to start a home-based business. It is because

Home-based business is an advantage for your personal needs, desires, and family situation.

The Desire for Financial Independence

The primary goal of home-based business is not only the idea of staying at home with the family.

Its real advantage is it lessens expenses. Let us say you want to start a physical business, this

type of business needs a high amount of capital. You need to pay rents, housing expenses, food,

clothes. Toiletries, Taxes, vehicle payments, vehicle payments, gas, and car repairs, and more

payment obligations. While if you are home-based, you just sit and earn money – no other

expenses. Thus, it does not require you to cost hundreds of dollars.

If you finally understand the bottom line of home-based business, even if you know how easy the

money in home-based jobs, you would still want to get insights from a financial advisor to know

how much you need to earn. Thus, giving you exact figures to use for your business plan.

Considering Family Health First

Home-based jobs allow you to be with your family anytime. These kinds of jobs are essential

especially if you have a family member who needs your care. You are flexible at any task you do

may it be work-related or family issues since. You multitask and earn even more. Thus, it would

also help you to cover up the expenses.

The Dream of Working on your Own

There is no dull moment when you work on your own. You do not have superiors to be afraid of

because you are the boss of your own business. As well as the feeling of waking up in the

morning where you do not need to check the clock from time to time since you do not work for

someone else but only you. Meaning, in a home-based job, you are the creator and the developer

of your own business – living it to the fullest and making dreams come true.

Benefits of a Work from Home

Traditional jobs require employees to wake up early, set schedules for meetings, wear decent

attires, make-ups, heels, and travel from home to the workplace, etc. These are just some of the

many things most employed people do every day. In home-based jobs/business, you do not need

to ask your boss for off-duties, vacation leave, and emergencies since you hold your own time.

You would no longer miss special events of your sons and daughters because you are always
with them. You can even drive them to school and going home. It is less hassle and budget-

friendly too. What you only need in home-based is to provide a space on your own, a room

where you can work comfortably online.

The Need to be Creative

Most people have their unique talent and ability, they always look for jobs that suit their

interests. When they feel that their wonderful ideas are restricted they tend to be unproductive.

And would probably not enjoy what they are working. However, in a home-based job, it does not

limit your creativity. You even use your creativity in starting a business and in the long run

becoming the leader of your own.

The primary concern here is to use your creative ideas in making and developing a product for

the sake of growing your company. More so, you can try other engaging activities that can

benefit your business in the long run.

CHAPTER TWO

PRIORITISING YOUR IDEAS

Whatever home-based business you want to start with you need to use your time wisely in both

business and personal. Time is really important for every business. When your time is properly

distributed you won’t get in trouble. Also, setting your goals is necessary when starting a

business. You need to focus and weigh in every decision you make.

Your Time is Valuable

Even if most people think that jobs done from home are less important than in the office, you

still have to do your task well. Yes, you indeed get unlimited time from working home but you

still need to be responsible since it is where you earn money and make a living. Thus, you need

to value your time well to grow your business. Do not take advantage of working at home.

Balance is really important. Always remember that.

For you to be able to prioritize your online business/work, you need to set work hours. In setting

work hours, you can inform ahead of time your family and friends that you are not available.

With that, you will not get distracted and stay in your track.

Set your objectives. Focus on your work. This does not mean that you should not give time to

your family but at least you should be conscious of your time. When somebody in the family can

do household chores for you, pick up kids for you, etc. then that would be better especially if you

are still starting your business. Stay balanced as always.

Choose a Business You Love

Choosing a business you love is a great factor in growing your business. Do you want to know

why? When you love what you are doing, you would be motivated and excited to do it

wholeheartedly because you like it. A lot of people say that when you love your job, you won’t

feel tired because you are enjoying it. If you are passionate about what you do, good things will

follow making your business grow bigger and faster. And you can provide brilliant ideas for the

benefit of your business. Thus, selecting a business you love is a perfect decision in starting a

business.

Identify Your Goals

To be able to properly handle your time well, you need to set and identify first your personal and

business goals. Plan what you want for your business and with your life. Be resilient and

reliable. Do not always rely on what you can do, be open as well to possibilities. Think twice

before you decide.

Once you identify your goals, rate them as short, intermediate, or long term. In short term goals,

you simply determine what you want to do today, next week, or the following month. For

intermediate goals, it usually targets three years and beyond. And in the intervals of five years

are for long term goals. When you identify your goals, you will have a smooth flow of your

business and you will also be properly guided to your business plans.

Short-Term Goals

In general, short-term goals are your intended task for a day, a week, or for a month. It helps you

set realistic goals and work on the planned activities by using a business calendar to keep track

of those goals.
Intermediate Goals

Intermediate objectives target periodically. Many industries are calendar quarter based. In other

words, if your business produces/ sells more during holidays or before holidays. This should set

in your intermediate goals.

Furthermore, similar to farmers, they set their intermediate goals to prepare them on what should

they do every season. It allows them to be ready and at the same time adjust schedules when

necessary.

Long-Term Goals

The long term goals are your aims in life that you want to achieve. This could be purchasing

material things like cars or owning a house. These goals help you focus on doing your

home-based business well.

Reevaluate Your Goals

As your business starts to grow, never forget to address your goals. Evaluate them, if there is a

need to rearrange, then do that. As time passes by, goals can be changed, or reorder if you think

it is best for your growing business.

Create a Daily Activity List

Another thing you do in starting a business is to decide on what you work daily. In this way, you

keep your work on track and organize. Below are the questions you need to keep in mind.

1. What tasks do I need to spend in my time today?

2. How much time do I need to work on each activity?

Track the progress of your business at least once a week. Also, evaluate every task you do for a

day and estimate the exact hours you devoted to each task. Once you identify the time spent in

every task, add the overall hours you spent the entire day.

Analyze Your Activity List

It is necessary to analyze the activities you do in your work to identify how much time is left.

The extra time you have is allotted for your family. This way, you could still prioritize them and

enjoy their company while not jeopardizing your online business operation. Below are the things

you need to consider when analyzing your activity.

1. Look at your personal and business goals

2. Complete your list of day-to-day activities.

3. Think of how the daily tasks and personal goals meet or conflict with each other.

Determine how your business goals will affect those activities. Most importantly, think of

your family’s needs, and what things are important to them.

4. Label each personal activity.

 C = Continue to invest equivalent time

 M = Modify or adjust the activity

 L = Spend less time in doing activities

 D = Delegate the activity to someone else

1. Continue to invest equivalent time. Every activity you do, make sure that it does not

compromise your work. Be balanced.

2. Modify or adjust activity. It is possible to adjust or change your activity for that day

so long as it is good for the business. Because at times, the activity we intended for

that day does not fit in a certain situation. With that, you need to make changes for

the benefit of your business.

3. Spend less time doing activities. Activities not related to work should be minimized

especially if you are new in the online business world. It does not mean that you need

to stop doing your outdoor activities. But at least you have to be aware of the

consequences if you keep doing all the activities you want. It might turn that you

spent so much time these activities and you do not give much importance to your

work, you may end up bankrupt. But if these activities are work-related then you need

to focus on it and lend enough time.

4. Delegate the activity to someone. If we work from home, we could not prevent

ourselves from doing household chores or any household activities. However, if you

have someone in your family who can do that for you then tell them. If they are not

good with it, teach them if necessary. However, in terms of work-related activities,

you can ask for help from them. In that way, your business will grow faster since

more people are and operating the business.

Be Initiative

Initiative means being independent and problem solvers. A lot of businesses today are no longer

operating because the owners do not have initiative. Having initiative means you know what to

do, you set goals, and you always act on time. A very obvious example of this is waking up early

for work, although you own the business and you own your time does not mean you can start any

time of the day. If you have initiative, you get up early and start your work as soon as possible

and be productive.

Another thing to note, for you to be able to attain a sense of initiative, start by making a business

plan. When you create a business plan, you know what to do, when to do it and how you can

achieve it.

Be Committed in your Work

If you desire to start a home business, make sure to commit yourself. Be passionate. Work

productively to meet your every day goals and priorities. Do not waste time. Try to divide your

task if necessary and in this way you can focus on what to do first and what’s next. More

importantly, be healthy always for the sake of your family as well as for your business.

Avoid distractions and interruptions. Limit your not work-related tasks and be true to your skills

and knowledge.
Be Optimistic

Do not be disappointed when things don’t go as you expected. If you take the issues seriously it

can ruin the success of your home-based business. You need to accept it and think of possible

remedies and alternatives. And creating a business plan is important to lead you to the right

track.

Be Prepared

When starting a home-based business, you need to be prepared physically, mentally,

emotionally, and financially. When you start a business, you need to invest time as well as

money. You need to prepare the materials, equipment, room space, and bills to pay. Before

buying your needs in the business, make sure you do some research first especially its durability.

Be prepared in your marketing plans. Promote your business well and make an inventory of all

the money you spent in preparation for your business. Lastly, be prepared on the status of your

business, because it does not always result in what you expect. Be prepared always.

Identify Your Business Skills

The primary strategy to survive and to succeed in business is through the management skills of

the owners. These skills include proper budgeting, decision-making, running operations,

marketing, recruiting, planning, data gathering, goal setting, creative problem solving, and

interpersonal skills.
If you do not acquire all those skills mentioned, you still have enough time and opportunities to

learn. There are so many online classes that will help you learn and develop the skills needed in

operating a business.

Know Your Limitations

Expose yourself with the business. Determine the tasks needed. Once you identify the task,

categorize these tasks whether you can do it or not. If not, then ask help from someone who can

do it for you. With this technique, your business will still operate since the tasks needed are

already handled well by someone.

If you run a business that requires a hundred people, then you need to hire people who can

function for it. You should ask support and assistance from the people who know how to work it.

With this, you are committed to your end goals.

Develop Balance in Your Life

It is important to keep yourself on track. By doing this, you should set the schedule of your daily

doings. Create a well-thought schedule that conforms to the needs of the business. The schedule

does not mean you restrict yourself from outdoor activities. This will guide and help meet your

goals. Also, make it flexible, that you can still adjust and make changes for unexpected

appointments.
You should never forget to include your personal needs – may it be your health, hobbies, and

family. When you take for granted your wellness and your family, it could be the source of

problem or tension in your business.

CHAPTER THREE

THE DO’s AND DON’T’s IN YOUR BUSINESS JOURNEY

As you get your ideas together, you would need to create a strong foundation to launch your

business. Here are important ideas to consider in starting your business.

 Catchy but dignified Business Name

 Feasible Location

 Adhere to the law

 Attention-grabber for Branding ( Identity of the Business)

DECIDING ON A NAME FOR YOUR BUSINESS

It’s important to choose the right name for your company, and it’s something you need to care

about, as the name you offer in your business will need to build the right image for potential

clients.

For example, you plan to holiday painting in Cornwall. You might name your business ‘Painting

Holidays in Cornwall,’ but the apparent issue here is that no other detail is offered than the

obvious. You need to ask yourself more questions about your proposed business before you

move any further to give the clients ideas about your business. You may ask yourself on the

questions below:
 Are your holidays aimed at a budget-conscious artist searching for cheap hostel-style

lodging with arranged tours of nearby beauty sites? Or would-be artists seeking a lavish

break that includes tuition on painting and pampering?

 What is your expertise in painting?

 Is painting holidays the only holidays that you plan to operate, or are you going to have

other holidays at a future date, such as creative writing courses?

Without a doubt, you would never be able to answer all these questions with your

business name, but you can boost the original name by making it less generic and more creative.

One issue with the initial name is that it relies on two words - ‘painting’ and ‘holiday.’

The problem here is that someone interested in learning how to paint might get the

impression that this business is running holidays for novice painters and not newcomers, while

experienced painters might find a turn off on the word ‘holiday.’ But by far, the greatest

difficulty is that it restricts the business from offering anything other than holiday art. More so,

when you want to sell other types of holidays, your brand name does not keep you off.

YOUR BUSINESS NAME DOESN’T HAVE TO DESCRIBE YOUR BUSINESS

You don’t have to describe your business name, or even say what your business offers. Take

Amazon as an example. It is the world’s largest book retailer, with no mention of books in the

corporate name anywhere but everybody knows that they sell books. While originally marketed

as an internet bookseller, Amazon is now selling a whole range of non-book items, including

games and apps.

The advantage of choosing a brand like Amazon is that it’s not only easy to recall and

interesting, but the brand doesn’t hinder the company’s future growth or diversity. The Virgin

Group is close to Richard Branson.

AVOID CHOOSING CLICHÉ NAMES

It’s always a good idea not to pick a cliché brand name. Let’s say something like the Green

Fingers Gardening Company or Joe’s Bloomers, or the Heavenly Pastries of Harriet, etc. Indeed,

names like these sound smart and interesting. However, these names are very common, it is not

even new to the clients after all.

BARGAIN HUNTING

Let’s say you are completely confident that what you are selling is way better than what any

other vendors are offering. Let’s presume you intend to open an online fishing tackle shop where

your marketing campaign is focused on delivering rock bottom rates.

The Fisherman’s Warehouse

Cheapest tackle online

Choosing to use a term such as ‘warehouse’ rather than ‘store’ implies vast volumes at low costs.
PERSONALISING THE NAME

You could also change the company name and call it something like the Fisherman’s Warehouse

for Joe. There are many companies perfect for this kind of personalization, particularly including

the things that the client loves like kids, dogs, gardens, etc.

Although John Browne’s DogWalking Service might seem dull and unimaginative, it does

indicate to potential customers that John Browne would look after their dog and not someone

unfamiliar to them. Under the right conditions, using your name in your business name creates a

feeling of confidence which brings credibility. Thus, don’t be afraid to add your name,

particularly if the company that you are planning to operate includes looking after the

sentimental value of other people.

OTHER FACTORS

This is no full claim to a brand name unless that name is, of necessity, the name of a company or

other corporation trading in the same field as you wish to. And if there’s already a Flo’s Dog

Walking Service or Martin’s Organic Vegetables in your town, then clearly, you will have a

legitimate case to launch a similar business but with a different name and claim your trading

using your own proposed name.

Of course, it will also be so stupid of you to knowingly copy any brand name because you are

not only bound by ethical controversy; you also deprive your company of the opportunity to

become special. If you are having a hard time deciding on what name you want in your business,

you can search on Yahoo, Ask Jeeves, Google, and other web directories related to your area of
interest. Don’t feel discouraged and down when you notice that another company already uses

your proposed name or business identity. It’s better to decide what business name you want as

soon as possible before ordering stationeries, brochures, and the like. Once you settled on your

target business name, ask yourself the following:

 When you’re going to get labels printed on your products, for example, will the name fit

on a small label?

 Will it give your business the right image?

 Will it build trust and credibility?

 Can you get a domain name for your website that fits your business name?

 If your business is expanding, diversifying, or evolving, can you keep the name, or will it

need another?

 If the name is abbreviated, what do you get? For example, my gardening is called Paul

Power Landscapes, which abbreviates to PPL. Can you abbreviate your name, if so, are

you comfortable with the abbreviation?

THE COST OF STARTING A BUSINESS

To be successful, you will need to get a fairly accurate idea of how much it will cost to start your

business. A common mistake that is usually done by many is they decide right away what type of

business they want to start without assessing if the proposed business fits their estimated budget.

When evaluating the initial costs, you should take into account:

 How much of the initial stock you’ll have to spend.

 Any specialized machinery or equipment which may be needed.

 The cost of the vehicles.

 Registration or professional fees – for example, you may need to hire the solicitor to

read and report on a lease agreement, patent a product, or pay local authority registration

fees.

 Stationery costs.

 Insurance costs.

 Costs of hiring additional storage space.

 Working capital.

 Website costs.

WORKING CAPITAL

Working capital is the sum of money that you have to manage your business regularly, and

without it, you won’t be able to transact successfully. It is in contrast to fixed capital, which is

the money you use to buy fixed assets, e.g., buildings, vehicles, machinery, etc.

A common problem I found based on the previous business is when it comes to working capital.

You should never forget how much working capital you need to keep your business running. If

your business involves selling a variety of goods, for example, you will always have money tied

up in unsold stock. Not only that, but you’ll need to buy additional stock to cover what you’ve

sold. Therefore, even though your business receives sales income (sales revenue), you will have

to spend any, or even all, of the revenue in buying replacement stock.

You will also have to pay ongoing business costs, which may include rent, business rates,

heating, lighting, ads, etc., as well as paying yourself and any staff you might have.

You need to have money available in the form of working capital, or you may need access to a

loan overdraft to cover your daily business costs for your business can fully support itself.

Initially, you may notice that when you sold many products, you don’t gain much profit, if

anything, because you’re going to reinvest your profits in your business. It’s a common problem

and one that you need to address while preparing your business.
CHAPTER FOUR

BUILDING WEBSITES FOR YOUR ONLINE BUSINESS WITH

LESS THAN $100

To home-based entrepreneurs, the internet offers unlimited potential. The rapid growth of the

internet was undoubtedly the biggest single improvement to the home-based entrepreneur’s

fortunes. How else would you start a global business on your favorite magazine for less than the

expense of a month’s advertising?

Yet the internet remains packed with global business failures even its growth opportunities.

There are several reasons for this, it would either be because of these factors or a combination of

them:

 Lack of comprehension on the part of business owners as to how the internet operates.

 Poorly designed websites which do not attract the target clients.

 Incomplete details of the services offered by the company.

So what would you do to make sure the website is doing great? To address this question, you

have to ask yourself, “What’s the purpose of my website?”

 Do you want a platform that just promotes your business and offers information about the

services that you are offering?

 Do you like a website where your products are sold online?

 Should the website be a combination of sales and promotion?

You need to be sure about your goals before going further with your company website. Do not

misunderstand that people will visit the site simply because you have a website. The essence of

making websites is it helps you market your products to the target customers. When your

products and services offered online specifically posted on a website, it attracts more customers

and it consumes less time in the part of the customers from going to your stores and purchase

there. They can simply click and place an order.

Make no mistake in using a website. You should provide accurate and clear information. You’ll

need to look at three areas:

 Create a website for your business.

 Promote your Website.

 Stay ahead of the competition.

CREATING A WEBSITE FOR YOUR BUSINESS

Before you start creating your website or pay someone to do it, make sure you have set your

goals. This is completely essential to your success in the future.

The primary aim of the site is to allow people to contact and inquire about the products you

offered. In this way, you will not consume so much time selling your products since the website

can do that for you.

BUILD YOUR WEBSITE OR EMPLOY SOMEONE?

When it comes to creating your website, you have to decide whether you will create on your own

or you will hire someone to do it for you.

The advantages of building your web site are:

 It is cheaper than hiring a designer;

 It is necessary to take control of our website;

 You have greater leverage about getting people to your site by including books for

visitors, free give-aways, etc.

 You can play around your website and apply your design until you got everything

perfect.

The disadvantages are:

 It may appear amateurish and ruin the credibility of your business unless if you knew you

are not good at web designing;

 It is time-consuming;
THE EASIEST WAY TO BUILD YOUR WEBSITE IN LESS

THAN $100 USING SOLO BUILD IN

1. Register a Domain Name

A domain name is the first move to reaching successfully to every website. This is the first task

of what users are going to type into search engines to get to the pages. It’s a key part of the

puzzle, and one of the simplest. You have to decide what domain name is appropriate for your

website. Whenever the name of your business is unique, you won’t have any problems getting a

domain name. However, if the business name is really common, the domain name will likely be

taken, so you’ll need to be creative in creating your business name.

Below are some of the registrars where you can register a low price for your domain name. Note

that the price shown is for the extension of the.com domain, and other extensions usually will be

different.

 Namecheap ($10.69 per annual)

 Google Domains ($12 per annual)

 HostGator ($12.95 per annual)

Personally, Namecheap is my favorite domain registrar. I used them for more than ten years, and

they never disappointed me once. The registration is fast and easy to navigate, DNS propagation

is almost always instant, and many other services, such as web hosting are offered.
Second, Google Domains is Google’s new domain registrar service, their app is really basic and

visually appealing. If it’s like the other Google services, it will surely become one of the main

registrars.

Lastly, HostGator is a web hosting company that records domain names, too. They have

accommodating customer support, and you probably choose them if you are buying web hosting

at the same time.

As far as the domain extension is concerned, it is entirely up to you. Most people also like

the.com extension because they get used to it to most all of the websites they visit.

2. Get a personalized business email address

Of course in making websites, you need to begin your business email address. It is one of the

requirements to successfully log-in a website. You’ll need a custom business email address to

make your business look more professional and well established. For instance, it should be

[email protected]. This automatically makes your business look more professional

and credible than having an email like [email protected]. Your business domain name is

generally used as the most common format for business email addresses.

Having a custom email address for the business is simple, budget-friendly, and relatively

convenient. We recommend using G Suite, which is operated by Google.

For businesses, it is Gmail, except that you have a personalized email address. You get Gmail’s

user-friendly interface, reliability, and security, with prices starting at $6 a month per email

address.

3. Choose a business website builder

The next move is to choose a business website builder. Over more than 30 website builders we

tried, the “Solo Build It” is the best choice in creating a business website.

“Solo Build It” is perfect for all business online starters. It is the only all-in-1 step-by-step

Customers’ Experiences on “Solo Build It”

1. Patty Knutson, owner of VeganCoach.com

Patty knew nothing about the online world except how to check emails and do Google searches

when she started her website. Four years later, she had a growing coaching business and multiple

secondary income streams, including her eBooks filled with various vegan cooking tips and

techniques, and a weight-loss e-course.

Two years further, her husband Jeff joined her in running their service business, which is now

become their main source of income. Do you know what’s the best part? It allows them to travel

together while making money.

This is what Patty uttered:

“The number of people who write to me each day, telling me how much my information-packed

website has helped them is humbling. Currently, an average of 2500 people visits my site every
day. That’s at least 75,000 people each month! To be able to help so many people in such an

important way is sometimes hard to wrap my head around.”

2. Crystal Maleski, owner of makedinnereasy.com

Crystal, a non-techie, turns her passion for cooking into a successful online business. It all started

with some emails to friends about easy dinner ideas. Now, this work at home mom (WAHM),

with four teenage kids all in sports, loves how she can work whenever and wherever she wants.

This is what Crystal has to say:

“While I loved my career when I was single, I found the stress of working long hours when I had

small children was very taxing. I no longer feel stressed when one of my kids needs to stay home

from school. I can take care of them and still work on my business. I wake up excited every

morning. There is nothing like the sense of accomplishment that I feel when I learn something

new or master a new skill.”

3. NoriEvay, owner of anguilla-beaches.com

“I now have a business that I can grow over the years. A business that is fun. I’ll never do a 9 to

5. I’ll always own my own life. That, more than money, more than learning about the web, more

than Anguilla-Beaches.com, more than learning how to write well, that is the most important

thing I’ve learned from SBI!. Own your own life. If you don’t, what’s the point?”

4. Pick a template

Now that you have chosen your Website builder, it’s time to select your template. This is our

favorite stage because this is where you see how your website should look like.

Your template (or ‘theme’ as it is often called) should serve as a springboard to your design. If

you create with Solo Build It, you’ll have absolute flexibility to modify your template. Choosing

a perfect template is sensible towards fulfilling your end goal. And with Solo Build It, you are

not going to be short of options since it gives unlimited access designs.

5. Populate your business website with your content

By now, you probably have tried different templates and decided on the final option. Now is

your perfect time to create your template by swapping all the placeholder content and adding any

extra pages or sections to enrich your website.

As regards with pages, all business websites would require:

 A strong “Homepage”. Visitors will be able to identify easily what you offer and

navigate smoothly to other sections for more product details.

 An informative page about ‘On Us’. Visitors would also want to know about the owner

of the business. Make sure to indicate your relevant information and include credible

pictures. In this way, they will find the website authentic.

 A page with clear ‘Contact’. Visitors and prospect clients always look for your contact

details for more queries. It may include store locations or any other concerns related to

the products offered. Be sure to include email addresses, contact numbers, or shop

location.

Most businesses, too, will need:

 A product/services page. Share what is the “bestseller”. Show them captivating pictures

to attract their attention and curiosity. If not, tell them discounts for multiple purchases.

 A blog. Sharing your business in the form of a blog helps you to demonstrate your

expertise, keep your site fresh, and make your website do well with search engines – but

only if you are willing to update and commit to publishing it daily.

6. Add apps for extra features and functions

Now that your pages have been sorted out and occupied with your desired content, it is time to

add some extra features. This means increasing‘apps’ from the builder’s device market, though

some may provide only built-in features.

But what do we mean exactly by the increased features? Here are a few examples of handy apps

and features that will suit well in your business websites:

 Forms– It allows clients to have specific sections to go to especially when inquiring.

You may encourage people to sign up for communication via email.

 Social media integration – Promote your website to different platforms like social

media. A lot of people now are using Facebook, Tweeter, Instagram, and more. Through

this, you can easily market your website.

 Cookie alerts – Be transparent about how you use your data with your visitors, and give

them the option to change.

 Live chat- It a useful way to connect with your customers to give feedback immediately.

 Google Maps— It is an interactive map to help you find customers’ locations or even

your store.

 Customer testimonials – It allows you to view testimonials and feedback from

customers on your site. Adding social evidence to your website will boost reliability and

credibility for the customers.

7. Optimize your site for search engines

In the previous article, we mentioned that publishing blogs can make your website appealing to

Google. But in what way does blogging attract to Google? Now, let’s take a look at what SEO

(Search Engine Optimization) steps can benefit your business.

Having attractive and interesting features in your website is necessary to meet your end goal. In

this way, customers will have a hassle-free transaction when they want to inquire or place an
order in the products and services you offered. But if your clients never see your website on any

search engines, everything you work in designing your website will be put to waste.

When you type in Google’s search bar, a search term such as ‘best brunch in Chicago”, there is a

complex algorithm that decides on the results you will be presented with and their order. This

algorithm takes into account a great factor in finding your site but there is no need to worry since

there are some simple steps to ensure that Google recognizes your website as relevant and useful

for terms of search applicable to your business:

 Ensure that your site loads quickly

Internet users don’t like slow or lag websites – if it takes more than 3 seconds to proceed, the

majority will ignore and leave the site – and so with Google. Make sure that you ‘compress’ any

images you upload – this is an easy way to reduce file size in just a few seconds, without

compromising the image quality.

Run your page through a free page load speed tool (we like Google’s PageSpeed Insights) to

identify any area of the problem.

 Don’t forget about Mobile Phones

Nowadays, most Google searches are done through mobile phones than via desktop, hence, it is

important to reformat the site and allow smaller screens to access. A ‘lite’ version of the desktop

site is not going to cut the mustard; elements and text are going to be too small, and if that

happens, Google is going to penalize you for the bad experience. All website builders that are
listed have fully mobile-responsive templates, so reformat should be automatic – just be sure to

test this out before you publish.

 Use keywords carefully

Many users today are searching for information using keywords only. With this, as a website

owner, you should also provide keywords related or applicable to your website. In this way,

users can easily track you in search engines and people get the chance to visit your website. For

easy access to your website, you can use a free keyword finder like Google Ads Keyword

Planner.

Once you identify relevant key terms, you have to ensure that these terms are found or included

in your content. Be careful in using key terms; do not overuse key term references. If words or

terms appeared clunky. Google will penalize you for ‘keyword stuffing’. Use words naturally,

just keep on creating good content and trust Google to join the dots – its algorithm becomes

smarter every day!

8. Publish, Monitor, Adjust, and Update

At this stage, I believe that you already followed all our essential pieces of advice and that you

are ready and excited to show your website to the world.

However, give one final preview is a must-try opening your website through mobile, tablet, and

desktop, and on a variety of browsers, if everything is set and ready. And, before you hit publish

and tell the world and share it with your social media followers, ask your friends first for website
testing. If you like to do it your own, you can check the site in preview mode, but sometimes

problems can only become apparent after you post – so it’s best to have them ironed out as soon

as possible.

Once everything goes well and perfectly, from the impressive feedback from your friends on

your DIY skill of creating a website, you can now publish your website and be happy that after

all the process, you finally made it. But, you have to keep in mind that there is no such thing as a

finish or a complete website since you will keep updating it later.

Updating does not only intend to upload new blog posts, introduce new projects or services,

update the “About Us” page with new team members or achievements – but you need to monitor

how people use the website and think of steps to improve their experience.

9 HACKS TO MONETISE YOUR WEBSITE

The increasing development of internet and technology and the availability of numerous user-

friendly platforms enabled users to create their websites and blogs quickly. Even if your website

or blog is more of a hobby than a business, getting to learn how you can gain profit from it is

always a good thing!

There are lots of ways to publish a blog online for free, such as Blogger or WordPress, or you

can start utilizing a subscription website hosted in your domain. However, before you find ways

to monetize your website or blog, it’s important to quantify first the traffic on your website.
By doing so, you have to define the types of monetization strategies that will fit well and the

easy way to monetize your blog.

There are two free services that you can conveniently use: Google Analytics and Quantcast.

Google Analytics provides important statistics such as the number of page views, the specific

keywords used by visitors to get to your page, and the amount of time that users spend on

specific pages of your site. While Quantcast offers demographic information that you can use to

measure where the website attracts the most traffic.

Another important thing you need to do is make sure your blog/website has strong content. Not

only should this content be relevant and informative for your visitors, but it also should be

optimized for search engines. This would allow your website to be accessible in search engines

like Twitter, Bing, Yandex, and Yahoo! There are also ways you can monetize it after you have

checked that your website is very well-optimized. The following are:

2. Become an Affiliate Marketer

Now that you are launching your website or blog, becoming an affiliate marketer is the easiest

tactic you may use to generate money. It’s a simple process of identifying and endorsing or

promoting a product or service on your website.

You may gain a profit from the sale if a user visits your website and clicks on the affiliate link

and purchases the particular product or service. This commission can range from 30 percent of

the product price to as much as 70 percent anywhere. This way, you can raise some cash without

doing any additional work apart from putting an affiliate link to your website.

This way, you’re going to ask the help of amazing media purchasing professionals who have

years of game experience and help you sell high-converting deals.

3. Sign up for Google AdSense

Google AdSense is another formidable source of revenue production from your site. It will help

you truly monetize your blog. It is a cost-per-click program (CPC) that allows you to put up ads

on your website.

What you need to do is add the ad code, and then the AdSense spiders can determine what your

website is about and which ads will suit the content well. This ensures the content of the ads is

relevant to your page.

AdSense spiders align the advertisement based on keywords. You get paid from anywhere from

$0.05 and $0.5 per click each time someone clicks on the website’s ads.

There are various options to use Adsense to monetize your website, ranging from navbar

connections to banner ads to optimized search results, so make sure you read your guide about

the right approach.

4. Create a Membership Website

Another feasible monetization option is to create a website that sells memberships – and one of

the best ways to monetize a website. Your website needs to give some sort of value to the

consumer for this to function, whether its digital photos, eBooks, background themes, posts,

research reports, etc.

There are a bunch of cool sites that have established themselves successfully, like Shutterstock

(images), Elegant Themes (Word Press theme shop), Questia (online library), and Kindle

Unlimited (unlimited monthly fee eBooks), etc. It has the potential to produce enormous revenue

for your fat wallet.

5. Sell Advertising Space

It may not be as easy as getting an affiliate link inserted. And so, once you have a clear sponsor

for your website or blog, it will generate more money. Many websites also sell space for

advertising. Prices are generally based on one dollar per 1000 impressions (CPM).
And, if you have a lot of impressions and traffic that you think can well turn into a synergistic

business, you can approach them to offer your site ad room. There are also a lot of ad networks

that you can use to sell your inventory space, offering advanced algorithms that suit your

audience’s accurate ad at the right moment. This may be a relatively lucrative opportunity for

websites that enjoy considerable traffic and, therefore, a wicked way to monetize your blog.

6. Post Sponsored Content

Many advertisers today are charging writers to write favorable posts for their goods or services.

In fact, reviews that appear on third-party platforms also hold greater credibility as consumers

may not see them as direct ads.

Additionally, informative and interesting sponsored content is also perfect for the website, as it

offers interesting content. How much you can charge for such sponsored content depends

entirely on how popular your website is, how much followers you have on social media, and how

effective your content is.

7. Sell Your Own Digital Product

Another way to have the website monetized is by selling your digital product. You may write

and publish, for example, an ebook about the subject area you are most comfortable with and

then sell it directly from your website. It will translate to 100 percent of the sales price profits.

Since this is digital content, except the amount of time you spend writing it, there is no upfront

cost to it.
8. Flip your Website

This strategy is perfect for someone building a website intended to sell it to the highest bidder.

While this may be a short-term tactic, it fits best for those who have several websites in a variety

of segments, who are looking for customers who will buy the site. The clever secret, however, is

to make the website worthy enough so buyers can appeal to it.

9. Create an eCommerce Website

Although this takes a little more planning than any of the other ideas tacked on this page, raking

in cash is a sure-fire route. The eCommerce platforms are a gold mine for online retailers, so you

can use them to sell your products or the products of other people you find online. This extends

to dropshipping items that you might have found from a third party retailer or tapping into

tending markets to cash in on the action.
