FINAL EXAMINATION

PROF ED. 11

Question: write your reflection on your field study 1

“Observation of Teaching and Learning in Actual School
Environment”. For your reflection, focus on a peace concept of
appropriateness of technology.

Technology is a major factor in making our lives more convenient

and using technology is a skill that we must master or apply in
our lives if we want to achieve major productivity improvements.
As time goes on and our community develops, technology is used to
support both teaching and learning. When we say Technology this
can’t only refer to digital tools because both a pencil and a
laptop can be seen as different types of technologies for use in
the classroom. Technology infuses classrooms with digital
learning tools such as computers, laptops, smartphones, and
tablets—these gadgets have become a need in today's world. These
are no longer just for entertainment. They are currently widely
used in our educational system. The power and importance of
technology in education are more clear than ever, as Filipino
students require access to education even during times of crisis.
Children of today are digital natives, meaning they grew up with
technology. Students that use technology in their everyday
studies will learn more, participate in their academics more, and
be more motivated as a result of their efforts. Even before the
pandemic, both instructors and students used technology as a
component of their learning and teaching in our classroom, but
the ongoing pandemic has shown us just how important it is in our
country. The expression "silver lining of our education system"
was used in a virtual round table titled "Education During Tough
Times" in October 2020.This is a time when technology growth and
digitization are sweeping the globe. Using technology in a
negative way can cause problems and harm, so we must utilize it
in a proper manner to avoid these issues. In order to help each
other and find solutions to the education sector's issues, all of
these should be utilized to their utmost potential.

Appropriate technology can take the form of many different tools.

We can recall how our education sector carried out online
classes, many local government units (LGUs) have provided kids
with mobile devices, teachers have been trained to make the most
of digital learning, and educational programs have been added to
our television lineups. In fact, the DepEd TV team produced 220
programs per week, spanning all subject areas, in January 2021.
The use of Google Classroom as a key tool for virtual classes has
grown not only in the Philippines but around the world.
Smartphones/Android are no more just a luxury, but a need.
Today, I'm talking about what I observe in our classroom
settings, and the information above is based on what I've
observed in the classroom/school environment. Technology has the
potential to be an excellent teaching tool if parents and
teachers work together to ensure that it is used appropriately by
the learners to meet the goals of each lesson. Even though
modular distance learning presents significant challenges for
many students. They risk developing screen fatigue and burnout.
Many also struggle to distinguish between school and personal
responsibilities at home, and many students lack access to these
resources. Still, teachers and schools are exploring many types
of technologies for use in the classroom in order to extend
education to our students' homes.

Truly, technology is important in learning. Through it, we can

reach out to more children and leave them something they can
bring to life.
