About Us
Hi, We are Mike, Tawra, and Jill from Living On A Dime To Grow Rich. We say grow
rich because we believe that virtually anyone can use smart techniques to manage
money they already have to propel themselves to be more prosperous every day. No
matter how much money you have, it can be working more effectively for you so
you can be more prosperous with less stress!
In our financial journey, we have moved from having very little and being
overwhelmed with debt to a place where we have no debt of any kind - no credit card
debt, no home mortgage and no student loans. While we were paying off debts and
trying to improve our financial situation, we were still able to support our family of 6
and live a happier and lower stress life.
Tawra grew up in extreme poverty. After she, her mom and her brother became
suddenly ill with a mysterious illness, Tawra's mom Jill had to raise Tawra and her
brother on just $500 a month, which required the need for them to be extremely
frugal.
Mike came from a middle class family who never spoke about money. In college, he
gathered more debt than he could handle and adopted a typical middle class view that
"I deserve" things. If he didn't have enough money, he could put them on a credit card
while he figured out how to pay only the monthly payments. He began to see that this
was not workable, but had not gotten really serious about solving the problem.
Since then, we learned to stay ahead of bills and continued improving our situation,
even with a larger family with teenagers in a more expensive state. We also managed
to pay off our house in one of the most expensive states in the country.
To celebrate, we even took a 7 week family vacation to Europe with money we had
freed up by paying off the house.
3
Through persistently applying smarter money strategies, we have gone from being
forced to to choose between basic necessities to being completely out of debt with
a paid off house and are able to choose to spend money wisely on things that are
important to us without going into debt.
Our goal is to help YOU move forward in your life no matter what your
circumstances. We believe that EVERYONE can make regular forward progress
and MOST people can make dramatic improvements in a short amount of time.
Would you like to eliminate your debt, cut your stress and have an ever improving
quality of life? Then come hang out with us, take what you can use to improve and
apply it in your own life!

22 Dinners In 20
Minutes
Today I am going to share 22 meal recipes that take less than 20
minutes to prepare. With meal prep, I usually only count the time
it takes in actual work. I do not count the cooking time because the
time I spend preparing the food is what takes so much energy.
While I’m waiting for the food to cook in an oven or crockpot, I
don't need to watch it. Instead, I can do something else like clean
up the kitchen, help the kids or do some laundry or housecleaning,
since I’m not actually cooking during that time.
So in this ebook, I’m sharing some of my favorite go to recipes that
not only help you save money but save you time as well -- AND
your family will love them!

Oven Fried
Chicken With
Biscuits
What you will need: Instructions:
• 4 -5 Tbsp. margarine Melt margarine in a 9×13 pan. Pour baking mix on a
(not butter) plate or in a plastic bag. Roll chicken in the margarine,
then into baking mix and place back into the pan. Salt
• 4-6 pieces of chicken and pepper to taste. Bake at 375° for about 45 minutes,
until the juices run clear.
• ½ cup baking mix
About 5-10 minutes before the chicken is done, push the
• salt and pepper pieces of chicken tightly against one side of the pan and
lay biscuits into the pan on the opposite side. Finish
• 1 can refrigerator biscuits baking until the biscuits are brown.
Note:
It’s okay to lay the biscuits in the margarine and
all in the bottom of the pan. That makes the
biscuits margarine soaked and crispy. Oh, yum!

sausage for extra flavor.

The BEST Slow
Cooked Roast
What you will need: Instructions:
• 1 beef roast, 3-5 lbs. Place roast in pan. Pour cream of mushroom soup and
onion on top. Cover tightly. Bake at 250° for 1 hour.
• 1 onion, sliced Then turn down to 225° and cook for 15 or more hours;
10 hours for roasts smaller than 3 pounds. Serves 4.
• 1 can cream of mushroom soup
(omit for GF and sprinkle *This slow cooked roast recipe is an excellent way to
with seasoned salt) prepare inexpensive roasts. It makes the roast so tender
that it falls off the bone and is almost impossible to lift
out of the pan in one piece. It is an excellent way to make
a delicious meal for Sunday after church or for guests,
because it can cook for 2 or 3 hours longer than required
without overcooking. And you get more for your money
since it is so tender that no meat is left on the bone!
*Use a meat thermometer to make sure internal
temperature reaches at least 145°.
13
Brown Gravy
What you will need: Instructions:
• meat broth Add at least one or two cups of water to the roasting pan
of your roast, pork or chicken while the meat is cooking.
• 1 cup cold water When done, remove the meat and skim off the fat. Put
the pan on a stove top burner on medium heat.
• 2 Tbsp. flour or
1 Tbsp. cornstarch Put flour or cornstarch in a bowl. Add cold water. Mix
until all the lumps are gone.
• salt and pepper
Pour the flour mixture slowly into the simmering broth
and stir constantly until thickened. If there is a lot of
liquid, you may need to use more flour. Salt and pepper
to taste. Serves 4.

What Our Readers Are
Saying
From Tawra’s Inbox:
Hello ladies,
I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU for your slow cooked roast recipe! It has been a
joke in my family how truly BAD my roasts taste. My loved ones dutifully eat it
because they see how hard I’ve worked on dinner (plus they are nearly starved to
death by the time dinner is served) and they see the strained smile on my face as I
bring their plates to the table. But even I can barely swallow the roast.
I always followed my “Better Homes and Gardens” cookbook faithfully and would try
different cuts of meat, all to no avail; it still turned out so dry and tough.
Enter your help. I have been enjoying fitting about your website and finding all sorts
of nuggets of advice. Then I found your recipe! This was the answer I’ve been
searching for, lo these many years! I had been cooking it all wrong. I thought I was
doomed to buying the precooked roasts-in-a-bag at my local grocery store.
Now my family smiles when they smell the roast cooking as they come home from
school. And I feel great knowing I have mastered one of the basic requirements of
motherhood… cooking the perfect roast.
Thank you for all your great “tips”!
Sincerely, Becky H.
