Simplified Storytelling Script - Meg`s Eggs
The following story script is adapted to include repetition of useful language.

Storyteller: Meg, the witch, Mog the cat and Owl are at home. They are all very hungry.
MEG: I’m hungry.
MOG: I’m hungry.
OWL: I’m hungry.
Storyteller: Meg gets the cauldron.
Storyteller: She puts in two lizards, two newts and two frogs. She makes a spell.
MEG: Lizards and newts; three loud hoots; green frogs’ legs; three big eggs!
Storyteller: The spell makes three big eggs. There’s a light green egg, a blue egg and a dark green egg with pink
spots! Meg, Mog and Owl are very surprised!
MEG: What a surprise!
MOG: What a surprise!
OWL: What a surprise!
Storyteller: They can't break the eggs. Oh dear. They go to bed without any dinner.
Storyteller: Meg hears a noise. It’s the light green egg. Hmmmm… ‘Whooo!’ says owl. Meg's egg is hatching.
What is it?! Is it a chicken? Is it a frog?
Storyteller: Oh! It isn’t a chicken or a frog! Is it a snake? Is it a worm?
Storyteller: No, it isn’t. It’s a dinosaur!
MEG: Who are you?
DIPLODOCUS: I’m Diplodocus. I’m hungry. I want to eat plants.
Storyteller: Meg takes Diplodocus to the pond. Diplodocus is heavy!
MEG: Oooof! I’m tired!
DIPLODOCUS: Hmmm…hello ducks.
Storyteller: Diplodocus is very happy. He eats the plants. He’s big!
DIPLODOCUS: Yum, Yum! I like plants.
Storyteller: Mog, the cat hears a noise. It’s the blue egg. BUMP! THUMP! Meg's egg is hatching. What is it?!
Storyteller: It’s another dinosaur!

MOG: Who are you?
STEGOSAURUS: I’m Stegosaurus. I’m hungry. I want to eat cabbages.
Storyteller: Mog takes Stegosaurus to the garden. It eats all the cabbages!
MOG: 98 cabbages, 99 cabbages, 100 cabbages…
Storyteller: Owl hears a noise. It’s the green and pink egg. TAP. TAP. Owl’s egg is hatching. What is it?! Is it
another dinosaur?
Storyteller: Out jumps a big red dinosaur.
OWL: Ahhh! Who are you?!
TYRANNOSAURUS: I’m Tyrannosaurus. I’m hungry! I want to eat you!
Storyteller: Owl is scared.
Storyteller: They are all very scared.
OWL: I’m scared!
MEG: I’m scared!
MOG: I’m scared!
Storyteller: Even Diplodocus and Stegosaurus are scared. Tyrannosaurus wants to eat all of them.
Storyteller: They are all very scared.
TYRANNOSAURUS: I’m hungry! I want to eat you!!!
Storyteller: Meg, Mog and Owl fly home quickly.
Storyteller: Meg gets the cauldron. She puts in bacon and eggs. She makes a spell.
MEG: Bacon and eggs; jump over their legs; those three big lumps will be three little bumps!
Storyteller: The spell works! Where are the dinosaurs?
Storyteller: Diplodocus is small. Stegosaurus is small. But where’s Tyrannosaurus? Oh! He’s here. He’s very small
too. Phew!
