LEARNING TASK 4
A. Population: The participants were enrolled in the second wave of the FAHS,
an ongoing study of flight crew health which was established in 2007 and
originally enrolled 4011 flight attendants.
B. Sample: We requested participation from both new and returning flight
attendants using a variety of channels, including a hard copy survey
addressed to 2007 participants and distributed at airport terminals between
December 2014 and June 2015, as well as an online survey that began in
December 2014.
C. Sample Technique: Our recruiting drive includes study announcements
from local unions and on social media.

B.
Data quality consists of five characteristics: correctness, completeness,
dependability, relevance, and timeliness. For example, if the data is gathered from
disparate sources at disparate periods, it may not be a reliable indication for
planning and decision-making. A stringent set of rules is used to gather and
evaluate high-quality data, ensuring consistency and accuracy. Better decision-
making results from improved data quality across an organization. The greater the
amount of high-quality data you have, the more confident you may be in your
selections. Good data reduces risk and can lead to continuous improvements in
outcomes.

LEARNING TASK 6
Our survey instrument contained validated items from known surveys such as
the Job Content Questionnaire and the National Health and Nutrition Examination
Survey concerning self-reported health outcomes and symptomology, job
experiences, and personal characteristics (NHANES). Participants were also
requested to provide a history of their aviation job, including airlines, principal
hubs, and dates of employment and departure.
