ACTIVITY 1: WARM UP
Aim: to create a pleasant atmosphere and to relax.
Procedure: The teacher greets the pupils. The pupil on duty tells absents; the
teacher writes absents in the roll; then the teacher checks the homework and the
previous knowledge. Teacher tells student that the warm up activity is called Talk
for 30 seconds and explains that she is going to show them some pictures
(Appendix 1) and they have to describe them in 30 seconds.

ACTIVITY 2: LEAD IN
Aim: to raise interest in topic
Procedure: The teacher writes the word CRIME on the board and asks students to
draw a word map with words related to it (e.g. robbery, online scam, thief, etc)

ACTIVITY 3: PRE-READING
Aim: prepare students for reading
Procedure: The teacher asks students to open their books at page 70 and elicits
answers about the pictures. Students name the actions in the pictures. (Appendix
2)

ACTIVITY 4: READING
Aim: read and answer questions on the text
Procedure: teacher asks students to read the text on page 71. Students read the text
in turns.(Appendix 3)
Timing: 10 minutes

ACTIVITY 5: AFTER - READING
Aim: check reading comprehension
Procedure: After reading the text, students do exercises 5, 1 and 2 on page 70.
Then they do the speaking on page 71(they tell how they would feel if they were
the characters from the text and they discuss about online scams).
Timing: 5 minutes

ACTIVITY 6: SPEAKING
Aim: use English in speaking
Procedure: Teacher gives students speaking cards(Appendix 4) and asks them to
bring arguments for the situation on their card.
Timing: 10 minutes

ACTIVITY 7:
Procedure: As homework students get the worksheet A bank robbery (Appendix
5)
