A. INTRODUCTION/ RATIONALE
As years go by, the environmental problems, and crises we are experiencing are getting worse. In
response to these various environmental crises, Earth Day was founded. Every 22 nd day of April,
International Earth Day is celebrated throughout the world which aims to activate and educate
environmental movement and literacy worldwide to support the urgent call for a healthier and livelier
Earth. As mandated by the Presidential Proclamation No. 1481 s. 2020, every 22 nd day of April will be
known and celebrated as the Philippine Earth Day. This year’s theme is “Invest in Our Planet” which
primarily encourages individuals, businesses, and governments to invest in technologies and practices

D. CONCLUSION/ RECOMMENDATION
The second school virtual celebration of the National Earth Day gained overwhelming support
from the students and online viewers which gained a total of 595 views on Facebook and 839
views on YouTube. Thru the efforts of the Science Department, the school administration and
other participants, made this momentous event possible and successful, informative and
a fruitful one. It is indeed in our hands to protect and conserve Mother Earth. It was mentioned
by Karen Ibasco on her winning answer in Miss Earth “I believe that the real problem in this world
is not climate change, the real problem is us because of our ignorance and apathy, what we must
do is to start changing our ways, to start recalibrating our minds, and to start redirecting our steps
because together at a global community, our micro efforts will have a macro effect to help save us
home, our planet.” We still have the chance to make right decisions, to make sustainable and
ecofriendly actions, and thru our united efforts, however big or small it is, we can make a difference
in our world. Together, let’s Invest in Our Planet.
