1 Explanatory note
The device may only be installed by our customer service or by persons authorized by Analytik Jena.
It is imperative that at least one person designated to operate the device is present during the briefing given by the ser-
vice technician.
Please provide us with confirmation that all the installation requirements have been met. We will be happy to send you
more detailed information if required.

2 Installation conditions
2.1 Delivery and installation

The installation location is on the first floor or accessible by a
suitable elevator.

It is possible to reach the installation building with a trans-
porter.

The device will be delivered directly to the final device location
by a transportation company.

petent person.
The device must be positioned in such a way that allows easy
access from all sides. Alternatively, a heavy duty roller table
can be used.

The exhaust unit removes gases that are harmful to health, such as ozone or nitrous gases, which can be generated
during plasma operation. Correct extraction requires the form-fitting connection of an extraction hose to the smoke-
stack of the device.
2.3 Water cooling
A cooling system is required to operate the emission spectrometer.

Operation of the analysis device without an Internet connection is ensured!
For the installation, administrator rights are required on the control computer.
If the control computer is to be integrated into a network, this must take place before installing the software. Installa-
tion within a virtual environment constitutes an exceptional case. Consultation with the Service department of Analytik
Jena or the providing partner organization is required for this.

3 Device layout and space requirements
The emission spectrometer is a compact device designed for table-top operation. The required space depends on all the
components that make up the measuring station.

Please note! The cooler must be located on the same floor as the basic device. Place the cooler next to the work-
bench, not under it!

To ensure unimpeded intake and exhaust of cooling air and effective cooling, the surfaces of the housing sides of the
water-air cooler require a minimum distance of 60 cm from adjacent objects.
Due to the waste heat generated and the possible noise pollution, it is recommended to place the water-air cooler out-
side the laboratory. An extension of the cooling water hoses is permitted if minimum pressure and flow volume are
maintained. The cooler must be located on the same floor as the basic device. If this is not the case, additional check
valves must be installed in the water circuit. Otherwise the water tank can run empty when the device is at a standstill.
These adjustments will not be carried out by Analytik Jena.
