Course Title: Business Law and Regulations

Course Description: This course will provide an overview and working knowledge for students on the
basic concepts, principles, application of laws under obligations and contracts, partnership and
corporation and negotiable instruments.

Course Materials:

1. The Law on Obligations and Contracts, by: Hector S. De Leon


2. The Law on Partnership and Private Corporation, by. Hector S. De Leon
3. The Law on Negotiable Instruments, by: Hector S. De Leon
4. The New Civil Code
5. The Revised Corporation Code

Expectations: At the end of the semester, students are expected to:

1. Know the basic concepts, principles, application of laws under obligations and contracts,
partnership and corporation and negotiable instruments;
2. Possess the working knowledge on the obligations and rights of entrepreneurs in its dealings
concerning the formation of partnership, corporation or organization with all its natural and
legal consequences.

Methodology of Teachings:

1. Lecture: Powerpoint presentation with a mix of interactive experiences from participants


2. Discussion: There shall be formal and informal interaction on some topics
3. Collaborative Learning: Students may work in small groups to complete a specific task applying
the principles, concepts or provisions of the law learned in the subject
4. Decided Cases
5. Multiple Choice Questions

Course Evaluation:

1. Attendance – 10%
2. Class Participation – 20%
3. Quizzes – 30%
4. Examination – 40%

Classroom Policies:

1. The students must to class prepared


2. He/She is expected to take all examinations on the scheduled dates
3. He/She should read the assigned tasks prior to class
4. He/She is expected to attend each class and actively participate in discussions or activities
5. He/She is required to switch on the camera during classes and stay muted when not asked or
allowed to speak
6. Must observe honesty and good faith at all times
7. Screenshot of virtual class shall serve as attendance which may be taken at the start or before
class dismissal
