TPT Ol 009 Plaster of Paris

This risk assessment examines the hazards associated with using plaster of Paris for craft activities in parks managed by The Parks Trust. Hazards include irritation from the plaster powder, burns from the mixed plaster, adverse weather conditions, and slips/trips/falls on uneven ground. Control measures include only allowing trained staff to mix and handle the plaster, providing protective equipment, monitoring weather conditions, and reminding participants to wear appropriate clothing. The residual risks were all rated as low after controls were implemented.
