Monarch Pathfinder® 6057™
Avery Dennison has taken barcode labeling to a new level. Whether you need labels
for pricing, mark-downs, receiving incoming goods or promotional marking our Store
Manager application is the answer.
With a simple click the mobile Pathfinder will help you better manage and organize
your day to day
retail operations.
APPLICATIONS
There are the 3 most important applications in the retail.
Pricing
Mark down
Stock taking
The Store Manager has two methods for importing your data:
• Manual data entry
• Database
To ensure this process is straight-forward we’ve selected a user friendly interface and
tools. The data file format needed is a .CSV text file, which can be created simply using
Microsoft Excel.
In order to benefit from the best response time the application is also able to generate
an internal database file automatically.
The application has customizable label formats which can be used for all your instore
labeling. From the simplest layout (e.g. one Barcode) to the most sophisticated one
(e.g. Barcode, price, discount automatic date, item ref, item description, etc) the
process is straight-forward. The user scans the item Barcode or inputs information
INSTALLATION
To install the Store Manager application on the Monarch Pathfinder 6057 version, you
have to
copy “Setup Store Manager sqlite X_0_X.cab” file on a Pathfinder Temp
directory
Mobile Device \\Storage Card\Temp\Install\
(if you get an error message like “cannot copy files”, just ignore it).
just 30 seconds after, the icon “Store Manager” will appear on the Pathfinder
desktop. Press double click on it. After that, the application will restart the
Pathfinder in order to complete the installation process.
At first you need a .csv file containing the values you need to import into the database.
Example of a .CSV text file is:
Barcode; Stock; Description;Size;Color;SupplierCode;Price;Markdown1
8456789423456;0; Pullover; XL; Black;45678; 20,00; 14,95
8456789423458;0; Trouser; L; Red;9814678; 15,50; 9,95
Once you have the .csv file, you have several ways of importing the items to the
database:
Import / Update Items mode
Use of DB Generator application on the PC
FTP mode
WebService mode
Note that:
Copy the .csv text file into a temporal folder on the Pathfinder \\Storage Card\Temp and then
open the Store Manager application and press the menu “Data Base Import Items” option.
The application will ask you the file to import, select the .csv file and hit OK. Current database
will be deleted and after some minutes (depending on the items volume, import process could
take some minutes), the database will be internally generated and a message will appear
confirming the number of items correctly imported. In case that any error is produced during the
importation process, a file will be generated into the \\Storage Card\Store Manager\Data folder
containing the error and which row has caused the error.
In case you only want to update the current database with some items, press “Data Base
Update Items” option (e.g. your current database has 200.000 entries and you only want to
modify 10.000).
FTP Mode
If you have a Wireless Radio Card on your Pathfinder and a FTP server is running on your
corporation, then you can download the .csv text file directly into the Pathfinder and the
importation process will be fully automated. To configure the FTP mode go to “Settings” from
the main menu FTP Tab
Contact with your network administrator to set up this option.
If you have a Wireless Radio Card on your Pathfinder and a WebService server is running on
your corporation, then you can import the items directly into the database. To configure the
WebService mode, go to “Settings” from the main menu General Tab
After that go to “Data Base From WebService” to start the data import.
Contact with your network administrator to set up this option.
Note that:
DB Generator requires Windows Mobile Center (for Windows 7 platforms) or Active Sync 4.5 (for
Windows XP/2000) installed on the PC in order to be able to connect with the Pathfinder.
The application can import .csv files with any column separator (tab or semicolons)
Empty space columns are accepted
Some .csv files include column titles on the first line. In that case you need to press “Skip the
first line” option.
Destination and default generated database folder on the pathfinder is \\Storage Card\Store
Manager\Data

CONFIGURATION
The Store Manager provides two functionalities for printing labels:
Pricing
Mark down
This text files allow you link the fields of the label format with the fields into the database.
The content of each file looks like:
[FORMAT: xxxxx] describes the label format “name” to be referred internally which must be
the same of the LNT file’s name.
ID = xxxxx describes the label format text name that appears on the menus.
Note that:
The structure [VARIABLE ASSOCIATION FMT/DB] is used for each format to
be configured.
You must fill in all the fields on the [VISUALIZATION] keys even if there is no
data associated to them
The order of the variable fields must be the same as the variable data fields on
the LNT format file
MODULES
The Store Manager provides three main modules. The first two have the same functionalities but
different label formats available.
