INTRODUCTION
Self-confidence is a very important skill that is mandatory in every interview. You
should have high confidence and self-confidence so that employers can trust you to give a
job. You need to have a lot of confidence in yourself in order to grab your dream job. This is
because humanity today is very aggressive due to hundreds of people applying for those jobs.
For those factors, you need to be more bloodthirsty for the job, and without a high level of
confidence, you can do-nothings even though you have all the other qualifications and such
master degree in your hand. It has been fated that some people may be chosen and others fall
out of the crowd. Of course, a lack of self-confidence is one of the factors you loose your
dreaming job. It is quite clear when you want to attend a job interview, there will be a lot of
anxiety and worry in yourself and that is all normal for every person who goes for an
interview. At that moment, you just have to focus on your objective to apply for a job. At the
same time, to add to this approach, you need to come up with new ideas and ways, fresh,
calm, and need to be confident throughout the interview to convince you that you really
deserve the job. Confidence is a very important thing during an interview. These are some

very useful tips on how to be confident during a discussion or the importance of confidence
in a job interview. First of all is remain confident while appearing in the interview,
understand your positive and negative points, good positioning of body postures, proper
dressing, focus on positive points, think constructively before attending the interview, answer
questions with assurance, and more. The purpose of making this video is to show students’
abilities and confidence in practicing and providing effective communication skills. An
effective and convincing presentation makes the best use of the relationship between the
audience and the presenter. In this assignment, I will present an informative speech to explain
to my audience the topic of a video presentation about a job application.
While doing this course assignment, I felt it was very difficult because Bahasa
Melayu is the language I used in my daily life and I struggle a lot especially when speaking
and writing in English. However, I am very grateful to my family, lecturers, and colleagues
who helped me in every aspect to complete this assignment. Throughout this course, I tried to
use English as my utmost language at my workplace as well as in private situations. Since
starting this course, I have spent a lot of time reading articles and news, watching movies,
and listening to songs in English, to further improve my mastery of English. This assignment
also helped me a lot to increase my confidence in speaking English at work and everywhere I
am. After taking this course, I can see my level in speaking English which I feel is getting
better day by day. It also made me realize that it is necessary to learn English and practice it
in our daily lives, regardless of the time and wherever we are. In this report, I will share more
about the entire process of making my video report presentation. However, the planning
period for this presentation took a long time because I was very busy at work. So, I try to get
some time space to prepare my presentation and try to set what time I can do the video
recording.
BODY
While this video recording was being made, I had some difficulties because there
were some interruptions. The first distraction was my very noticeable nervousness. I was very
nervous and anxious because a thought crossed my mind that I could not do well in this
presentation. It’s quite a challenge for me because I’m fighting myself. I kept shaking and
forgot what I wanted to say. Even my pronunciation sounded very strange because of the
pressure I felt at that moment. The expression on my face also showed how nervous I was. I
also try my best to play with my facial expressions and use body language to show that I am
confident in delivering the report but it turns out, that I show poor eye contact and poor body

language. But I try my best to come myself down and keep positive thoughts in me. My mind
and I also continue to convince myself that I can control my nervousness. Keeping positive
thoughts at that moment, helped me a lot in completing my recording and I also managed to
say everything I wanted to say about the I chose. Although my overall expression showed my
true nervousness, I felt better because I managed to control myself until I finished my
recording. I was very proud of myself at that moment.
After I finish recording the video, I need to edit my video. I’m not very good at
editing videos, but in the previous semester, I learned a little bit about how to edit videos on
Youtube and my friends. I have a little experience in video editing before and still have some
difficulties because I am not good at video editing. However, compared to the previous
semester, I am more prepared this time and I already know which applications I can use to
edit my videos. Even though I already know the app, but I still need to improve my editing
skills to make my videos look good and attractive to watch. So, I watched some tutorials on
Youtube to learn more about how to use the app and improve my editing skills. The tutorial I
found on Youtube was very interesting and very easy to learn. I have decided myself as a
director and producer for my video presentation so that I can supervise everything during the
filming and manage the videos that I do. I also can organize my videos in my own way.
In completing this assignment video, it took me about two weeks to plan and
hours to record and edit this video. My time took longer than planned due to a lack of
preparation time and some interruptions. I also tried to include some creativity and
professionalism in this video. For me, including some creativity and professionalism is very
important. This is because I strongly believe that, the presence of music can generate
emotions in someone who sees the video. Not only that, but it can also bring out a good mood
and give positive feelings to the listener. From a professional point of view is to wear neat
clothes and order the video in a sequence that is easy to understand. Every human will feel
happy to see beautiful things and neat things. This is one of the professional attitudes that
need to be emphasized if we want to be successful.
As the process of making this video goes on, I think I’ve done it in a good way.
This is because I feel like I can explain more context and explain more about this video.
When I saw my total time was over ten minutes and had some more content to put in this
video. I feel myself starting to feel down and unsure of direction. Because the time given
cannot exceed 11 minutes. This shows what I did not explain in depth and briefly in this

video. I think I could elaborate more on and summarize the sentences for this video if I had
spent more time reviewing the content and overall information of this video. My video
presentation would have been better than this one. Not only that but my poor English
pronunciation made the word sound a bit strange. If I practice the words I want to say first, it
might be easier for me to say those words. I started to think how good it would be if I
practiced it earlier, maybe I could convey my content more concisely and smoothly. In my
opinion, I should be more prepared, especially in doing tasks like this in the future.
After finishing the video, I showed the video to my father and my mother and
asked for their opinion. According to them, they found that my presentation was not too bad
and they also commented on my body language and the way I presented information. I told
them that my gestures showed how nervous and uncomfortable I was in the video. They said
I looked unspontaneous in the video and showed poor body language. They added that my
posture doesn’t show confidence and I don’t use a lot of hand gestures that can help
emphasize the words I’m saying. The way I deliver the content also they think my intonation
can make listeners feel uninterested and bored because the pitch of my pronunciation is flat
and my voice neither rises nor falls. As for my facial expressions they say most of the time
my face doesn’t show my emotion, looks a little blank, and weak eye contact. It made the
content I was trying to convey unable to reach the listeners because of the bad emotions I
showed. Therefore, they have given me some suggestions to improve myself. First, they
suggested I move my body because it can make me feel more relaxed. They also told me to
speak naturally in conveying the important contents. They also told me to build up my
confidence more and more so that I can speak confidently in English. They say, when I am
confident, I can be more dynamic and can show a lot better posture. They also say to create a
natural gesture, I should feel more about what I am saying at that moment and not think too
much about other things, and the gesture will adapt unconsciously. I was told that the best
way for me to improve my tone of voice is to be more aware of it. I can listen carefully and
sharply to videos of other performances on Youtube. From there I can learn and observe how
they use their intonation to express their meanings and words. And then I have to compare
my intonation and see which parts I need to improve more.
In my opinion, I believe that I have carried out the task well and am grateful for
having successfully completed this task within the stipulated period. But I realize they are
still shortcomings that I need to improve in the future to make myself better at speaking
English not only at work but in everyday life. I also consider that I am a student and I will

take all the opinions of others because they can see a different perspective that can help me
see my work from another perspective. I also know that it is not too late for me to learn more
and improve in English, especially in my speaking and writing essays. I think that if video
recording is not recommended, the right alternative for me is to do more research on the right
way to convey things in English at work and also in my daily life. So that I can practice
English at my workplace and elsewhere. I can also see more tips on how to get better.
CONCLUSION
In my conclusion, I have learned too many things along the way. I began to realize
how important it is to learn English, especially for education and the future, this is because
English is one of the international languages used by many countries. In some countries,
English is the second language for its people, because the role of English as an international
communication language is very important for various sectors, Malaysia is one of the
countries that now make English a second language. Some advantages if we master the
English language such as great opportunities to get a good job, easy to continue higher
education levels in the future, and more.
