Method statement for Temporary Burial of Newlv Laid 132kV Cable.

1. Lay the 132kV power cable till the proposed shutdown joint of the existing catching circuit.
2. The trench w ~ lbel excavating manually close to the existing through at a depth of l m up to the
required length.
3. Soft sand filling of 100mm will be done in the excavated trench.
4. The extra cable length will be place inside the excavated trench.
5. The cables will be dressed inside the temporary trench and water proof end caps t o be provided.
6. Soft sand filling of 300mm will be done above the cables.
7. Protection 132kV cover tiles will be placed on the sand .
8. The warning tape will be place after the sand filling.
9. The trench will be back filled and surface will be leveled.
10. The complete trench area will be barricade with plastic net for the necessary safety of the cables.
11. Caution & sign boards around the temporary trench will be placed.
12. Necessary monitoring staff shall be arranged for the safety of the newly laid cables.

SAFETY ASPECTS

1. DEWA standard PPE will be worn by all personnel at site at all times. Special PPE (Fluorescent
,Jacket) identifying Rigger & Banks man will be used. Trained / Certified Riggers / Bank man shall
be deployed at the work site.

2. Sufficient drinking water to be provided during work to prevent dehydration

3. Safety measured will be checked by the Safety officer the officer shall be available according to
critical site condition / DEWA witness Engineer requirement.

4. Lifting cranes t o be used shall be properly certified & valid.

5. Conduct TBT t o all the work force including drivers and operators involved in work emphasizing
the critically of site conditions.
6. Make all the individuals aware of DEWA emergency response procedures prior t o work.

7. Any incident will be reported t o concern PTD / TCD Engineer.

8. All drivers / Operators will have valid UAE license.

9. Smoking is strictly prohibited at work site.
