Negative impacts are stated to result from improper use of a thing's function, whereas
positive effects result from proper use of a thing's function. In this case, the legalization and
correct usage of marijuana have a significant medical impact.
According to Petkovic (2022), legalizing Marijuana might be of great aid to the health
sector of the world, particularly in light of the increasing number of disease types, but the
remedy is restricted and not keeping pace with the number of ailments. Consequently, Marijuana
may contribute to this and develop cures for numerous diseases for which no remedy exists now.
One examples of these illnesses are: Cancer, Epilepsy, Alzheimer’s, Insomnia, Anxiety, ADHD,
PTSD, Arthritis, and many more. As can be seen, nearly none of the disorders listed are curable.
So first, with the legalization of marijuana, drug availability will improve. Creating a cure for
a disease with a more efficient way possible and with a wider diversity of sources.
In line with this, it could improve the growth of a country’s economy by providing
new job opportunities by having more variety of industry. In this case, it has a great aid for
the agricultural sector in a way that Farmers seldom seek for the logic for legalizing marijuana
because they already understand it. The federal government's decision to legalize hemp
cultivation has opened up several new farming frontiers. In this regard, it's easy to see how
farmers might gain from marijuana legalization. In spite of a decrease in the total area
designated for hemp farming from 2019 to 2020, the number of licensed farmers increased from
16,877 to more than 21,000. Exported hemp and hemp-derived goods from the US increased
from $310 million to $1.8 billion within the same time period. The value of US industrial hemp
exports is expected to hit $21 billion by 2026. Colorado, the state with the most hemp planted
acres at 40,391, is one of several now reaping the economic advantages of marijuana
legalization.
Consequently, with the growth of economy, we can also foresee that black market that
sells Marijuana would vanish and thus, make their business go in a legitimate way and be
included in the business industry of Marijuana. Thus, safety protocols and much wider security
will be given because with having the sellers of Marijauna being in a legal side, the state would
require them to register in the government, which they will be subject to regulation, and
consequently, they are subject to taxes. With having the marijuana sellers acting in front, the
proper use of Marijuana would spread, and misuse of it will be lessened and avoided.
Why we should take away the fear and stigma that medical marijuana is a bad bill?
Being in a conservative nation, leaving our comfort zone would seem strange and
uncomfortable. To be flexible and adapt to a world that is rapidly changing, though,
seems to be the only way for our nation to develop and prosper. Thus, fear and stigma are
byproducts of the society in which we were nurtured. Therefore, adhering to the same
culture the same as the folkways would not be suitable to our current reality. Because
their world is different from ours and there are many changes happened in between. Thus,
despite the fact that we can witness other nations, such as Canada, in which due to the
legalization, patients may now purchase edibles (cookies, candies, etc.) without needing
to first convert them to oil extracts. It also loosened regulations on what kinds of medical
items licensed manufacturers might sell. Canada added 9,000 jobs in the first year after
legalization. The cannabis market contributes $8.16 billion annually to the global
economy, thus showed that they are prospering as a result of opening the Marijuana
sector, however, we are being in denial to apply it on to ourselves since our culture
forbids us to believe it.
Thus, we should remove interpreting the legalization of Marijuana as a bad bill
because results are already laid out into us, and to move on to the future, further medical
development is needed so that further medical constraints can be lessened.
