LAYTIME CALCULATION
M/V “SKY” loaded 10.000 mts steel billets at Aliaga and discharged the same quantity at Port of
Barcelona. The following information has been received from loading and discharging ports
respectively and of the voyage charter party.

As vessel’s managers, you have to draw up the necessary loading and discharging time sheets and
calculate the amount; due of despatch or to be requested of demmurage money.

CHARTER PARTY READS:
 Vessel to be loaded at the rate of 2500 mts per wwd of 24 consec hours SSHINC.
 NOR at load port can be tendered within normal working hrs Mon/Sun 0800/1700 in which
case if NOR is tendered before noon, laytime starts to count from 2 pm local time the same
day, if NOR is tendered after noon, laytime to count from 8 am local time the next working
day.
 Vessel to be discharged at the rate of 2000 mts per wwd of 24 consec hrs SSHEX E.I.U.
 NOR at discharging port can be tendered within normal working hrs Mon/Fri 0800/1700 in
which case if NOR is tendered before noon, laytime starts to count from 2 pm local time the
same day, if NOR is tendered after noon, laytime to count from 8 am local time the next
working day.
 At discharging port Friday 5 pm or a day preceding a holiday-Monday 8 am or next working
day following a holiday not to count eiu.
 Time actually used before commencement of laytime not to count bends.

 Demurrage rate is Usd. 4000 per day/ prorata, with despatch of half demurrage rate on

quantity at Tripoli (Libya) . Following information has been received from loading and discharging
