Central University Entrance Test (CUET) will be conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to all central universities. The CUET exam will have three sections - Section 1 will consist of 13 languages with Section 1A being compulsory, Section 2 will allow candidates to choose up to six domains from 27 undergraduate subjects, and Section 3 is an optional general aptitude test. The UGC created guidelines for the CUET to introduce a common entrance exam for admission to central universities, as proposed in the National Education Policy.

CENTERAL UNIVERSITY ENTERANCE TEST


WHAT IS CUET?

• In 2020, the New Education Policy brought in by the Centre had proposed a
common entrance test for higher education.
• The guidelines for the CUET were created by the University Grants Commission
(UGC)
• The UGC announced that all central university will adopt the test.
• National Testing Agency (NTA) will be in charge of drawing up the question
papers and conducting the exam.
THE CUET WILL HAVE THREE SECTIONS :
Section 1A, which will be compulsory, will
be in 13 languages and candidate can
choose the language of their choice.
SECTION-1
Section 1B is optional and for students who
want to opt for another language.
Section 2 will consist of domain specific
CUET EXAM subjects and a candidates can choose up to
SECTION-2 a maximum of six domains out of a choice
PATTERN
of 27 options that they wish to pursue at
the undergraduate level.

SECTION-3 Section 3, which is optional, will comprise


a general test which will be an aptitude
test which the candidate will have to sit for
only if the scores are desired by the
university they are applying to.
