CENTERAL UNIVERSITY ENTERANCE TEST
WHAT IS CUET?
• In 2020, the New Education Policy brought in by the Centre had proposed a
common entrance test for higher education.
• The guidelines for the CUET were created by the University Grants Commission
(UGC)
• The UGC announced that all central university will adopt the test.
• National Testing Agency (NTA) will be in charge of drawing up the question
papers and conducting the exam.
THE CUET WILL HAVE THREE SECTIONS :
Section 1A, which will be compulsory, will
be in 13 languages and candidate can
choose the language of their choice.
SECTION-1
Section 1B is optional and for students who
want to opt for another language.
Section 2 will consist of domain specific
CUET EXAM subjects and a candidates can choose up to
SECTION-2 a maximum of six domains out of a choice
PATTERN
of 27 options that they wish to pursue at
the undergraduate level.
SECTION-3 Section 3, which is optional, will comprise
a general test which will be an aptitude
test which the candidate will have to sit for
only if the scores are desired by the
university they are applying to.
