Dear Jordyn Bryant:
Pre-Certification Letter
Your application for Alberta teacher certification is now complete. Unless there is a change in your
eligibility status, you will be issued an Interim Professional Certificate (IPC) once the official
Dean's recommendation is sent directly to our office by your post-secondary institution.
In the meantime, if you wish to begin employment with a school authority in Alberta prior to the
issuance of your IPC, the following three documents will permit you to work as a teacher in
Alberta for up to 90 days.
1. This document, which constitutes your pre-certification letter.
2. An offer of employment letter from an accredited Alberta school authority.
3. An early clearance letter from the Dean of Education at your post-secondary institution.
This letter must confirm that you have completed all of the requirements for your teacher
preparation program and that you will be recommended for teacher certification.
This authority will expire 90 days after you receive all three documents. Retain all three original
documents as proof of your teaching authority during that period. You may be required to present
these documents to your school authority employer.
If you have any questions, please contact our office at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Daniel Karas
