Cable Trunking 50085

This document outlines standards for cable trunking and ducting systems used in electrical installations. It specifies classifications for materials, temperature resistance, mechanical and electrical properties. Mechanical tests include impact tests to ensure samples do not crack or disintegrate when struck. Electrical tests measure impedance levels across ducting, joints, and connections. Thermal tests include a ball pressure test where samples are heated and impressions measured to ensure good heat resistance. The standards aim to specify requirements and tests for cable management systems' performance up to 1000V AC and 1500V DC.

IMPACT TEST

 Sample length=250mm
 Mass of hammer Is 0.5kg.
 Fall height is 100mm.
 The intermediate part is made in a steel 20mm diameter cylinder.
 Its lower surface has a 300mm bending radius and it mass is 100g.
 Before the test, non-metallic and composite component are aged at the
particular temp at a 168 hours.
 After 2 hour, sample remove from refrigerator and immediately placed on
the apparatus.
 Then impact test is carried out after 12 seconds.
 After the test the sample doesn’t show any crack or disintegration.
