My deep-seated passion for making a difference in the lives of young people by helping them to make
sense of the world around them and fulfil their mission in life, makes me an enthusiastic and
motivated member of the Inclusion Department in an all-boys’ secondary school. The journey of my
teaching experiences has encouraged me to apply for the role of a teacher. I have developed my
practice through my role of a Senior Teaching Assistant, molding and bringing about social change
and personal fulfilment in the lives of young people with disabilities, by becoming a pivot in the
construction of young peoples’ life story and tackling alongside them, barriers to their learning and
development. This has been the inspiration behind my desire to be a teacher; to equip young people
with the knowledge and skills necessary for their survival in a dynamic and competitive world, and to
prepare them to take up their role as effective and productive citizens. My main priority is encouraging
students to participate fully in mainstream lessons. I support and facilitate the inclusion of all students
in class activities and I sometimes create intervention groups. I work with the teacher to help students'
progress by delivering mutually agreed interventions, encouraging students to learn independently
and keeping records in line with the school policy. My strength is in working flexibly and effectively to
meet students’ learning needs. I communicate with parents at parents’ evenings and by
appointments. I maintain a great working atmosphere where pupils and colleagues feel valued and
respected irrespective of their individual differences. I enjoy acquiring new skills and working in
differing environments. I have a mature attitude with a keen eye for detail, excellent presentation and
motivational skills with an intuitive ability to learn new skills quickly. I am able to work systematically,
efficiently and structurally, both by my own initiative and in teams, to achieve set organisational
goals.I am certain my success and result-oriented approach, innovative ideas and good listening
skills will make me a very competitive candidate for this position. My communication skills are well-
developed. I am convinced that my passion for discipline and my drive for results, will enable me to
steer students in the necessary direction in their effort to achieve their vision of learning and to
progress to success.
I will greatly appreciate your thoughtful consideration of my application for this post.
Yours Sincerely,
Esther Madu.
