It's time

We can use the phrase 'it's time' in a few different ways to say that it's the right moment for
something.

1: It's time + for + noun

• It's time for lunch.


• It's time for bed.

2: It's time + to + infinitive

• It's time to go home.


• It's time to leave.

3: It's time + (that) + subject + past simple

• It's time that we went home.


• It's time that you left.

Yes, we do use the past simple to talk about the present!
