METHODOLOGY

Research Design

The purpose of this study was to discover the factors affecting the Grade 10

students' choices of Senior High School Strands. The researchers conducted a quantitative

research in order to observe and to test hypothesis, and effectiveness of the factors. It would

only be fitting to have a descriptive research design.

With the use of questionnaire for data gathering method. As a study that uses survey

as a form of data collection, and all these aspects the collate the study and will prove to be

an affective asset in the plans.

Locale of the Study

The researchers conduct the research in Sta. Fe National High School. The

researcher explains to the respondents the importance of their response to the study. The

researcher clarifies some terms to the respondents so that the respondents can answer the

questionnaire with full knowledge of their responsibility as the subject of the study. After the

respondents answer the questionnaire, the answers were checked, tallied, interpreted and

analyzed.

Sampling Design

With the use of stratified random sampling the researchers are able to figure out what

and where are the people who are appropriate for the gathering data. This method is

selected by the researchers because it enables them to obtain a sample population that best

represents the entire population being studied, making sure that each subgroup of interest is

represented. The researchers also used Slovin’s formula to determine the sample size of the

population.
Research Instrument

The researchers used a questionnaire based on the topic of Factors Affecting the

Strand Preference of Grade 10 Students in Sta. Fe National High School. The questionnaire

is a set of orderly arranged question carefully prepared to answer by a group of people

designed to collect facts and information.

Data Gathering Procedure

This study will use questionnaires for data collection. The researchers prepared

questionnaires and distributed it to the respondents with their permission. Questionnaires will

be used to collect information from respondents, the researchers explains to the

respondents the importance of their response to the study and clarifies some terms so that

the respondents can answer the question with full knowledge of their responsibility as the

subject of the study.

The data gathered from this research Instrument were collected and organized

according to the answers responded by the participants. Along with this questionnaire as

primary data, the researcher also made use of secondary resources which is in the form of

published articles to support the results of the survey.

Analysis of Data

Using the table and computation according to the questionnaire and results. The

purpose of researching specific topic can be realize through the analysis of data the

Researcher collected.
