Bilibinwang Elementary School in the Philippines has implemented various environmental protection activities. YES-O ACTIVITIES ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

Here in the Philippines, we had been all victims of the identified effects of global warming
and climate change such as El Niño and La Niña phenomenon, flashfloods even on crowded cities
and landslides on low-lying areas. Everyone had experienced how the nature showed her rage for
all the human actions and behavior towards environmental conservation and well-being.
Bilibinwang Elementary School implements different activities related on how the school and
community maintain its cleanliness for the safety of everyone. To promote environment
protection among DepEd Stakeholders, to strengthen the makakalikasan core value among
learners; and
to provide a platform for learners to showcase their commitment to Earth restoration are the
main objectives of these activities. The importance of cleanliness in school and community is to
provide a healthy and safe environment for students and stakeholders. Clean environment
ensures the health and safety of everyone especially this time of pandemic. The importance of
cleanliness in both school and community reaches far beyond the way things look. It can be
much more profound and have a real impact on the quality of the students’ education and for the
lives ofddddddddddddddd
everyone.

School tree planting activity is an eye opener that allows the students, parents,
stakeholders and other participants to be knowledgeable with the benefits of trees and foster
environmental stewardship. Tree planting is a great way to increase student’s interest in their
local environment and achieve academic goals. Bilibinwang Elementary School Staff and pupils
together with the PTA officers have been also participated in coastal clean-up activity with the
aim to spread awareness of the protection of marine life and marine environment. This activity
also seeks to engage the community in the drive to sustain life under the water. The activity is in
line with the lesson on how we can protect the lives of the water wherein the proponent would
like to instill the importance of community as part of the natural resources and the proper way of
taking care of the environment.

Learners need to engage themselves in the different activities of making their community
a favourable place to live in. Children not only need to learn academic subjects but it is also vital
to involve themselves in learning to make their community especially in home and in school a
safe and clean place to make it more conducive for learning. The activities undertaken helps the
pupils to realize that being responsible is just not enough but we need to respect our nature, we
need to protect it and we need to cooperate and volunteer in any activity that tackles about
environment. Thus, we should listen and do action that can help the environment even in the
simplest way.
