Describe yourself in a sentence.
I’d describe myself as passionate, reliable, friendly, loquacious, honest, driven,
loyal and hardworking.
What is one thing that you would like to unlearn and why?
One thing I would like to unlearn is that one must always stay happy. I believe
that it’s okay to not always be happy, contrary to what we’ve always been
taught by society. I want to unlearn this because I believe our life should be
filled with all kinds of experiences not just happy ones. Unpleasant experiences
can sometimes be good for us. Stress protects us from potential threats.
Negative emotions sometimes push us to do better and bring out the best in
ourselves.
Describe a situation wherein you overcame a challenge while working in a
team.
A challenge I overcame while working in a team was when I was preparing for
my political science group project which was to be presented to an external
board examiner. We were required to prepare a presentation, a skit as well
decorate the area where we were going to perform. 5 days before the exam
our teacher informed us that there had been some miscommunication and the
practical exam would be held 3 days before the scheduled time. Instead of
completely spiralling, all the team members came together on Google Meet
and decided how we would complete the work. We divided the tasks in such a
way that it was possible for all of us to complete in one day. We decided to
come to school few hours prior to the exam. While some us were working on
the presentation, the others decorated the room. Dividing the tasks and
helping each other helped us give the presentation in the best way possible.
After months of research, you have finalised to set up a Dream Library in
Dharavi, Mumbai with maximum funds of Rs. 50,000. You have set up the
library and have been monitoring the situation for the last 6 months now.
You've been asked to analyse the impact of this initiative. On what
basis/parameters (both qualitative and quantitative) would you do so?
A parameter on which i would analyse the impact of the initiative would be the
number of books that have been donated and the number of books that have
been issued. Another parameter would be the language of the books that are
being issued in order to ensure that more books are available in that particular
language. One more parameter would be understanding how the children who
are the target audience of this project feel about the project as a whole and
whether the dream library is benefiting them or not. Another parameter would
be creating a planning triangle and analysing whether the long term goals and
short term goals of the initiative correlate with the work that is actually being
done. An additional parameter would be evaluating whether setting up the
dream library has led to the development of a reading habit among the
children. This can be done by seeing whether the same child has issued more
than one book. All these parameters would help in gauging the impact of the
initiative.
