1 Introduction
This installation procedure describes how to download the HKA 2.0 eventlog.

2 Preparations and software applications

To download the HKA2 log, some tools, programs and preparations are needed.
1. Laptop with installed programs
• Windows 7 or newer.
• ReleaseTools_v_1_28_0_4701” or newer
• “.Net Framework 4.8” or newer installed
2. Ethernet cable to connect Laptop to HKA 2.0
3. Start “ReleaseTools_v_1_28_0_4701.exe” or newer. If the “.Net framework” is too
old, you will get an error message indicating this. If so, install “.Net Framework 4.8”
or newer on laptop.

2.1 Installation of .Net Framework 4.8 (or newer)

Open Google Chrome and search for “.net framework 4.8 offline”. Look for the official
download location from support.microsoft.com, see Figure 1.

If you have to download the program to another computer, make sure you download
the “offline” installer.

2.2 IP set up
Set the IP of the computer to 10.0.0.55 and subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 by following
the instructions below.

NOTE:
Follow the same procedure and re-enable “Obtain an IP address automatically” after the
eventlogs have been downloaded.

2.3 Download all event logs procedure:

1. Connect laptop to VSD via Ethernet cable. Free ports on VSD Switch should be
configured to be internal, if they are not asking Wartsila for further assistance.
2. Run “ReleaseTools_v_1_28_0_4701.exe” or newer
3. Select “From local network scan” and press “Start Local Network Scan” on Connect
to target pop-up. Double click the IP of HKA when it shows on the list. If no IP
addresses show up, verify that IP address has been set properly and that you are
connected to an internal port of the VSD switch.

4. The main program should then open: (note: If it says [Not Connected], then you are
not connected correctly)
5. Click on the “Quick Report Collection” button

6. Click the “Download” button (note: if the button is greyed out, then you are not
connected correctly)

7. Wait while the logs are downloaded, this may take a few minutes. (Up to 2 GB of
data can be stored on the HKA)
8. When the download is complete, you will be asked to name the file and where to
store it.
9. Send the file to Wartsila, if the file is bigger than 20 MB use Wartsila FTP service.
