Kim Namjoon, also known as RM, is the leader and rapper of the popular K-pop group BTS. He was born in 1994 in South Korea and was a diligent student who studied in both Korea and New Zealand. He began his music career in 2010 at age 16 after being recruited by Big Hit Entertainment. As the leader of BTS, he has helped compose and produce many of the group's songs. In addition to his work with BTS, RM has released two solo albums and has collaborated with various other artists. He is recognized for his skills as a rapper, composer, and producer.

Who is kim Namjoon?
Kim namjoon, also known as RM (stage name) is a rapper, dancer, composer,
producer and model. leader of the South Korean band BTS. He's got two albums;
RM released in 2015 and MONO released in 2018. He also participates a lot in BTS's
writing and production of songs.
About his life
Pre-Debut
RM was born on September 12, 1994 in Ilsan, South Korea. his family is
made up of him, his parents and his younger sister. Apart from his mother
tongue, he knows how to speak English and Japanese. He was very diligent
in his studies, in fact, he was within 1.3% of good grades from Korea, and he
also studied in New Zealand. Before his debut he was an underground
rapper, his name was “Runch Randa”. He released a lot of songs and even
collaborated with rapper Zico. The group stopped being active in 2013 when
he joined BTS
Career
The beginning
His career began in 2010, only at the age of 16, after auditioning for the label
Big Hit entertainment, he was recruited as the first member of BTS. He
trained for three years along with his partner Min yoongi (rapper) and Jung
Hoseok (dancer). On June 13, 2013, he made his debut as BTS's leader on the
show Mnet's M countdown, with the song “no more dream” Main theme of the
debut single album 2 Cool 4 Skool.RM has gained recognition for being the
Composer and producer of most of BTS's songs, he currently has more than
100 songs registered with the KOMCA.
Career soloist
RM, Throughout his career he has collaborated with various artists. On March 4th, 2015, he released a single with
Warren G, titled “P.D.D” along with a music video, which later, Warren G, in an interview, praised RM's work saying
he was an exceptional rapper. On March 10th, 2015, it was announced through an image saying “You do You, I do
I” that Namjoon would release his first solo mixtape on March 20th. The first song from the awekening album was
released along with its video clip March 12, followed by two other songs “do you” and “joke” which were released
with their music video on March 19 and 26. His mixtape reached # 48 on the Top 50 Hip Albums chart in spin
magazine.

On April 9, 2015, the rapper primary released his second studio album, in which he also participated with RM and
know jin Ah in the song “U”. Also, in June of the same year, he participated in the song “ProMeTheUs” by the rapper
Yanke.

he collaborated with marvel for the movie trailer song “fantastic 4”. The single “fantastic” was released on August 4,
2015, through MelOn, Genie, Naver music and other music services. In July 2016, two books called HipHopHada
were published which consist of the self-written visa stories of 42 hip hop artists including RM. in 2017 he came
back with always and collaborated with wale on the single "change." the following year he released his mixtape
“Mono” with which he managed to position himself at the top of the itunes chart in more than 80 countries.
After releasing the Love Yourself: Her album on November 1st.
BTS launched the Love Myself anti-violence campaign in
association with the Korean UNICEF committee, which lasted
for two years and remains still. For this campaign, BTS
appeared at the “Generation Unlimited” ceremony within the
73rd assembly of the United Nations (UN) in New York to give a
speech on youth. Kim Namjoon was the one who delivered the
speech to the UN Secretary General. “Last November BTS
launched the Love Myself campaign with UNICEF. In our belief
that true love begins with loving myself, we are partnering with
unicef's 'END Violence' program to protect children and young
people around the world from violence ”“ no matter where you
are from , your skin color, your gender identity, just speak for
yourself. find your name and your voice by speaking for
yourself " were some of the words that Kim Namjoon said in his
speech.
