Activity 1

In this activity, you will play a game namely “English Whisper”. In this game, the teacher
will divide the class into 5 (five) groups. The group must decide who will be the first and the
last students in the group. The job of the first student is to read and memorize the
sentence shown by the teacher. Then, she/he must whisper that sentence to the next
students until the last student. The students in the group are not allowed to write anything
during the whisper. Then, when it comes to the last student, she/he must write the sentence
she/he has heard from her/his fellow student. The teacher will check whether or not the
sentence she/he has written is correct. The group which can write the sentence correctly
will be given 10 (ten) as the point gained.

A compliment is when you say something nice about someone.

People like to hear comments about their good behavior, how hard they are working,
or their appearance.

When we give compliments, we should always be positive and always mean what we
say.

I really like the way that you…

Thank you for…

Great work today!

You look nice this morning!

You did a very good job of…

It was great that you…

I can tell that you are trying really hard. Thanks!

but they’re a bit tight... I should have bought a bigger size. Anyway, wow,
you have great taste in clothes, Fran. I love sequins!
Francesca : They’re pretty, aren’t they? You look nice too. That dress really suits you.
Melissa : You think so? Oh, thanks! But your dress is prettier… Oh… I will look
