VI. MARKET ANALYSIS

A. Market Definition

In order for us to determine the market value of our business, we are going to
conduct this marketing analysis to fully understand how does the market of our newly
opened business goes and to know also if the market is large enough to build and
sustain our business. The location of our business is inside the school campus of
Camarines Sur National High School. The target market of our business is the students,
teachers and staffs of the school. As we all know that there are almost 11,000 students
in CSNHS and that is already big target market for a small business like ours. Students
mainly composed the target market of our business and the product we are going to sell
is a perfect match for a student that will buy. We made sure that the product we are
going to sell does meet the standards and satisfaction of our target market.

B. Customer Profile

The target customers of our business are the students, teachers and staff of
Camarines Sur National High School. But not all of them may be our customer so in
order for us to distinguish our possible costumer we are going to look for the
demographics of them. The age of our possible costumer have no range, everyone can
buy our product and try if it suits them and/or the like them. We also conducted a
survey for their preferred preferences in buying/eating a snack and we have come in an
output that mostly of them preferred Potato Lumpia.

C. Competition
In every business we cannot really avoid the competition. It is natural for a
business to have a healthy competition between businesses. To further analyze the
market we need to understand our competition better with the other businesses. The
business must conduct a survey to know how's the other business goes in order for us to
compare what is their weaknesses and what is also their strengths. By this we can now
determine our own strengths and weakness for the business to grow.

D. Risk

Risk is also a part of implementing business. It may fall in the part of the
weakness of the business. The risk that we are facing/taking in implementing our
business is the setting of our stall, by which there is also many competitors but a little
risk is healthy for a business so it's not a problem. Then, numbers of competitors, the
more the competitors is the more the risk for the business to be at risk. Taking risk is
okay but make sure that there is enough plan for it to survive and for the business to be
successful.

VII. MARKETING PLAN

4 P’S (LUMPIA)

PRODUCT

According to Kotler (2008), a product is anything that is offered to a market for

attention, acquisition, use or consumption and that might satisfy a need or want. To
William Stanton (1991), a product is a set of tangible and intangible attributes, including
packaging, color, price, quality and brand, plus the seller’s services and reputation.
Potato Lumpia is an innovative product that is a combination of the existing
products potato and lumpia. It is made of mashed sweet potato and coated with a
wrapper. We name it “Potato Lumpia” since it is rolled in the lumpia wrapper.

These are the vitamins and minerals that the primary ingredients contain.
Among some of the vitamins contained within sweet potatoes other that vitamin A and
vitamin C, you'll find iron, copper, manganese, vitamin E, vitamin B6. Sweet potatoes
also contain beta carotene which the body can convert into vitamin A.

PRICE

The Potato Lumpia will be sold for a suggested retail price of 5php. We believe
that we have product quality advantages. This pricing strategy, coupled with our
efficient production methods, aids in achieving our relatively high market share.

PROMOTION

Posters as form of advertisement will be posted at the campus hallways to

inform market that we will be opening our food stall. Also, room by room advertisement
will be part of it as well as Facebook advertisement.

PLACE

“Potato Lumpia” is sold inside the campuses to cater the student industry. This is
to ensure the convenience and accessibility for the customers. From the junior high
school to senior high school campus will be our target area and premises.

PRODUCT

Rich in proteins and carbohydrates helps in controlling depression: it’s believed

that baked foods are a source of happiness; hence, they help in beating depression. The
taste of these foods is soothing and comforting and helps in lowering blood pressure
because baked foods contain chocolate and cocoa which greatly assist in maintaining
your blood pressure.
PRICE

Its key objectives will include strong market share and survival. Achieving these
aspirations will eventually allow the business to become profitable. Keeping these goals
in mind, the business will choose prices which are competitive with the other
competitors. With prices that are not high over competitors, which would likely turn
customers away. Yet by not being immensely below the market price, the business will
still be able to receive as much possible income while remaining competitive.

PROMOTION

Strategies for making the consumers to be aware of our product will include Face
to face, colored brochures to attract buyers.
