Now students our lesson will be about showing and


illustrating numbers from 0 to 50 using different
things, that is why I gave you this activity as an
assignment, to see if everyone is good at counting,
I think everyone is ready for this lesson.

Now student let us try to do this activity
together.

Instruction: read and answer the questions

Mrs. Cruz bought 46 pieces of face masks for her


family’s protection against COVID-19 when they
go out.

2. How many pieces of face mask did she
buy?
3. Why did she buy the face mask?
4. How can you show the number 46 using
different things?
5. What things can we use to show the number

Here is our activity, Anya please read the short


passage.

“ now students we can show the number 46 by


sectioning the material we are going to be using,
for example, stars I can show the number 46 by
grouping my stars into 4 tens and 6 ones and if add
it all up we can get the number 46.”

Later on I will discuss this more, so don’t worry if Any material or object ma’am
you do not understand this fully now.

Now class why do you think its important for us to


be able to show a number by using different
things?

That is because in our daily lives we never know


when we need to count the things around use like
fruits, and counting things becomes easier when we
are able to group them.

C. Presenting Examples

Now I want to show you some examples of what I


am talking about. From our first activity we said
that we can group things and add them up to show
a particular number for instance the number 46,
using the face mask as our object to be used
As we can see in this drawing there are 4 tens and 6 Yes, teacher!
ones and if we add them all up

about the Lesson

Now kids I am very happy that you understood and


participated energetically in our lesson and
activities.

I know that all of you are able to count and write


numbers but in this lesson I wanted you to learn
and understand that there is more than one way to
show a particular quantity or number. And one of
the ways is to use different objects so that we can
see visually the quantity of a certain object rather
than just writing it.

I hope that you all gained an appreciation on our


lesson for today.
