NARRATIVE REPORT ON SCHOOL-BASED TRAINING-WORKSHOP ON THE POLICY

GUIDELINES ON MADRASAH EDUCATION IN THE K TO 12 BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAM
FOR THE IMPLEMENTING SCHOOL OF ARABIC LANGUAGE AND ISLAMIC VALUES
EDUCATION (ALIVE) PROGRAM

The Department of Education aims to provide quality education and making sure that no
one is left behind. The Madrasah Education Program (MEP) is one of the programs of
Department of Education that caters our Muslim learners. It aims to provide appropriate and
relevant educational opportunities within the context of Muslim culture, customs traditions
and interests through the integration of the Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education.

In line with this, Mangino Elementary School conducted a training-workshop on the

Policy Guidelines on Madrasah Education in the K to 12 Basic Education Program for the New
Implementing Schools of Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) Program last
December 9, 2022 @ 4:00 in the afternoon. This aims to capacitate participants on the
necessary Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes (KSA) in providing Muslim learners with
appropriate and relevant educational opportunities while recognizing their cultural context
and unique purpose for participating in the program; and in integrating content and
competencies which are relevant and of interest to Muslim learners.

School ALIVE Coordinator, Darwin G. Gonzales, discussed the importance of Education

and the policy guidelines on Madrasah in the K to 12 Basic Education for the Implementing
Program School of Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) Program. Together
with this is to give a little bit knowledge about the tradition and culture of the Muslim learners
with the guidance of our Asatidz, Sir Noah M. Lopez, that may be violated without knowing it
and gave them a time and reminding them to attend their class in their scheduled time.

I discussed also importance of the tagging of Muslim learners in Learner Information

System (LIS), wherein all the advisers of our Muslim learners have done the tagging of our
Muslim learners in the LIS for the School Year 2022-2023 even though this is the first time that
they encounter this type of tagging in the LIS. It is important to tag the Muslim learners in LIS in
order for them to recognize as ALIVE learners.

Thus, our school acknowledge the importance of being knowledgeable in MEP, ALIVE
and our Asatidz. That’s why the conduct of this school-based training-workshop is indeed
relevant and beneficial to everyone.
