Substation Senior Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Substation Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the
conduct of substation activities for the effective management of personnel and
equipment for the following substation facilities:
230kVtake-off yard
115kVswitchyard
Substation Automation System (SAS) / MBSC Protection, control, monitoring and secondary devices
for the following:
e) 230kV GIS;
f) 115kV GIS;
g) Auxiliary equipment
Building facilities consisting of three (3) floor building with roof deck
Backup generators
Air-conditioning Units
Executes operating orders and switching procedures during outages and normalization of substation
equipment and transmission lines.
Logs all operational data from statistical meters, equipment gauges, annunciators, protective relays,
etc. as maybe necessary or required.
Closely monitor, analyze and report alarms on Protection Panels, AC/DC system, auxiliaries and
Telecom (PABX, PLC, PSE, Router, microwave, MBSC, etc.)
Conducts routine inspection of all substation equipment using patrol checklist including Fire Fighting
and Anti-flooding equipment.
Execute and perform switching on Shunt Reactor / Capacitor Banks and/or On-Load-Tap Changers for
voltage regulations.
Gather, analyze and provide relay indications and other relevant data to Luzon Regional Control
Center (LRCC) /Area Control Center (ACC), MTD and other concerned NGCP officials for any auto
tripping incident.
Coordinate with and provide relevant information to Transmission Line Engineer including affected
customers and power plants for the immediate restoration of unplanned outages.
Provide progress updates on planned and unplanned outages to the District Officials
Issues work permits, maintenance and safety tags to working groups during emergency
Conduct weekly maintenance and testing of standby generator for readiness during normal and
abnormal condition of AC Distribution supply.
B. Ensure safe, effective and efficient implementation and documentation of all
corrective maintenance of substation equipment and devices
Participates in the preventive and corrective maintenance of substation equipment (e.g., Annual
preventive maintenance and testing, rehabilitation of damaged substation equipment.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Registered Electrical Engineer Two (2) years relevant
experience
Computer literate
