Nature or Nurture?
Which of these factors greatly influenced the growth and development of a child? Why
do you think these factors greatly influenced the growth and development of a child and
how? Which of the factors could relate to your own growth and development?

The environment and heredity greatly influenced the growth and development of a child
as no person can be born without heredity and genes cannot develop without proper
environment. Each trait and response of an individual depends on his heredity and
environment. The interaction of environment and heredity shapes human behavior. The
individuality of person is characterized by some inborn traits inherited from their parents.
The task of the environment is to shape these traits in a proper form, to provide
opportunities for their development and fulfillment, and to support improvement. Thus, a
person's personality is a product of their heredity and environment. The factors that I
can relate to my own growth and development are heredity, environment, familial
influence, and learning & reinforcement as these are the things that greatly influenced
on what and who I am now.

Therefore, in order to know about the individual, it is necessary to understand his


heredity and environment.

The development pattern of the children is determined by both heredity and


environment.
Heredity is responsible for all the inborn traits, the instincts, emotions, I.Q., reflex action
and physical traits. Environment is responsible for the growth and development of the
physical, mental and social traits.

Heredity is the biological process of transmission of physical characteristics from


parents to children through genes.
The environment is a major factor that plays a crucial role in the development of
children and it represents the overall physical and psychological stimulation they
receive.
What is the important message that the quotes want to convey/express? Do you

The important message that the quotes want to convey is that learning is the spark that
lights the internal flame and the more we know the more likely we are to succeed. It
serves as the key which will unlock numerous doors that will lead to success. The more
you learn, the more you know; and the more you know, the more you can accomplish. I
agree with the author’s ideas because without education, man is like someone who is
locked in a closed room with no way out and completely shut off from the outside world;
but education lends man to the open world. People who don’t learn, don’t get to
improve. And if you don’t improve, you will be stuck where you are. The quote that I can
relate to the most is “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live
forever” by Mahatma Gandhi. It reminds me that I should live as if I were going to die at
any moment. However, I should continue to learn as if I will never stop living. One of my
mottos' in life is “YOLO” You Only Live Once so I always try to live life to the fullest while
learning new things everyday. This quote tells me to be spontaneous, but yet to keep
my intelligence growing.

reminds me to enjoy and cherish every moment in life, to always search to improve my
education so that I can be a better person, help and inspire others.
This quote tells me

to be don’t be afraid to live life and try something new, let life be the reason you are
living.
Gandhi choose the words “die tomorrow” and “live forever” to allow people

to pretend there is no tomorrow and that I should do what I always wanted in life and
living forever is the opportunity to learn throughout the years I live. You will never run
out of things to learn if you were to live forever.
Learning should never stop; there is always more to be learn on a subject, if you dig
deeper into it.

The great thing about learning is that you never have to stop! There’s no limit as to the
amount of knowledge you can obtain.
Learning is essential to our existence. Just like food nourishes our bodies, information
and continued learning nourishes our minds.
Learning helps to nurture our minds which purifies our soul.

No matter what it is that you want to achieve in life, learn from others.
You don’t have to do everything yourself. The more you learn, the more
you know. And the more you know, the more you can accomplish.

People who don’t learn, don’t get to improve. And if you don’t improve,
you will be stuck where you are.

It is an important component of life.

lifelong learning helps people to keep developing their passions and interests, which
bring us happiness.
Continuous learning also helps us to keep pursuing our personal and professional
development goals, and all the achievements along the way are a great source of
happiness for many of us.
Education brings positive changes in human life. It enhances the knowledge, skill, and
intelligence of a person and enables him to lead a successful life.
Education creates awareness and expands our vision. We become more aware about
our-self, about the society, about everything that surrounds and affect our life.
Without education, man is like one who is confined to closed room with no place to exit
or entry and completely shut from the outside world. But education lends man into the
open world.
Learning is, for me, a continuous journey that is always changing. It creates personal
and memorable experiences that allows me to come away a better person than I was
the day before.
