COURSE DESCRIPTION :
This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes to gather interpret and
convey information in response to workplace requirement; to identify role and responsibility as a
member of a team; to promote career growth and advancement; to comply with regulatory and
organizational requirements for occupational health and safety; services to specification of
materials; on requesting and receiving construction materials and tools; on identifying and
measuring objects; on checking and performing preventive maintenance including storing of tools
and equipment; on identifying, interpreting, on analyzing and interpreting symbols, data and
workplace; applying in hydraulic excavator operation and in accordance with industry standards. It
covers core competencies such as perform Hydraulic Excavator pre- and post procedures; perform
productive operation for hydraulic excavator equipment; and perform basic preventive maintenance
for hydraulic excavator.

MODULE DESCRIPTOR : This module covers the knowledge, skills and attitude
required in the productive operation of hydraulic excavator in
traveling, excavation, loading, and lifting.
LO1. Perform loading and unloading of hydraulic excavator to and from truck/trailer (low bed).
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
Low bed trailer for transporting the hydraulic excavator are considered according to
equipment specification.
Coordination and communication are maintained with authorized signalman while
loading/unloading.
Hydraulic excavator is loaded/unloaded using adequate ramp based on safe
operating procedures.
All safety locks and controls are secured based on operations and maintenance manual.
Rested bucket properly based on safe work procedure (Loaded).
Tracks (UC) or wheels are secured with stopper blocks and binders (loaded).
Control and brakes are checked in line with safety procedures prior to starting,
loading/unloading the machine from the low bed trailer.
Stopper blocks and binder are removed prior to unloading of the machine.
Bucket is raised based on safe unloading procedures.
Responded to unexpected situations in line with company rules and regulation in a
manner that minimizes risks to personnel and equipment.
