Saturday 10 a.m.
Hi guys, it’s Annie here! It’s the weekend!
I’m writing this post in my room at home. My friend Erin is here. We’re playing video games.
We play FIFA most Saturday mornings. What are you doing?

1 p.m.
Back online. We’re sitting in a café in Amsterdam. I’m having a burger and milkshake, and
Erin is having a sandwich. We’re watching the people outside. There’s a girl with a great
outfit. She’s wearing cool sunglasses, a retro dress, and big black boots.

2 p.m.
We’re standing in a place called the Fashion Library. It’s a clothing store near the café. Mila,
the girl from before, is telling us about it. People take clothes they don’t want any more to the
Fashion Library, so other people can wear them! Every month you pay a small amount of
money, and then you can borrow any clothes you like. There are some amazing T-shirts with
great designs. I’m thinking about joining the library. Erin’s not sure – she’s saving her money
for a new pair of sneakers!

Do you want to play a new sport, but can’t decide what to do? Do you want something fast
and fun? Then we have the answer – Yakball!

FAQs
What is Yakball?
It’s a mixture of basketball, soccer, and rugby. It’s more entertaining than those games
because it’s faster and more fun. In some places, it’s the most popular game of the summer.
Both teams pass, throw, and head the ball to each other. To score, you hit a goal painted on a
wall.

Is it a team game?
Yes, it is. There are two teams, and each team has four players.

Where can I play it?

People usually play Yakball outside, but you can play it inside, too. You only need one goal
and enough space to move around.

How big is a Yakball?

A Yakball is a little bigger than a soccer ball. But you can’t use basketballs. They bounce too
much!

Can players kick the ball?

No, you can’t kick the ball. But be careful, people can jump into you to get the ball! It’s more
dangerous than basketball!
The inventor of Yakball is Michael Taylor. He is from the U.S.A. He likes basketball, football,
soccer, and lacrosse. Lacrosse is a team sport a bit like hockey, where players use a special
stick and ball to carry, pass, catch, and score goals.
