Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University, Junagadh, came into existence in 2015, vide Gujarat Act No. 23 of 2015. The University is named after the great Adi Kavi (first poet) of Gujarati literature, Shree Narsinh Mehta. The idea of new university was conceived by Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra ‘Modi, and it was materially brought into existence by Honorable former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Smt. Anandiben Patel, About Junagadh Junagadh, a part of the Gir Forest, is situated in the lap of the highest mountain of Gujarat called Gimnar. It is about 100 ks away from Rajkot. It is well connected on road and rails. Rajkot and Porbandar are the nearest airports. It is an ancient as well as historically, religiously and culturally important place of India. The other places worth visiting nearby are Somnath, Gir Safari, Diu and Porbandar among other places. About Department of English The Department of English of the University came into existence in 2017 as one of the first Departments on the campus with Prof. (Dr.) Chetan Trivedi as its visionary founder Head. The Department is on the forefront in offering innovative and challenging courses in English Studies. Ithas been fostering critical thinking and motivating students to grow academically. Its academic achievement lies in nurturing the creativity and scholarly abilities of its students and preparing them to find new and fruitful prospects. It offers Ph.D. programme as well. Concept Note Department of English, Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University, Junagadh in collaboration with the Indian Association for Canadian Studies (IACS) is glad to announce a two-day International Conference on New Directions of Academic Research on 19" 20° February, 2022 at the Agricultural University Campus, Junagadh. This conference will explore important new ways in which the academicians can continue to support academic fraternity. It will present dynamic panel discussions, fireside chats, influential keynote speakers and more, with a focus on new ways to develop and support researchers and their institutions around the world. The conference will be an essential resource for all levels of academicians — teachers, researchers, students librarians, and will provide a necessary platform of solidarity as we move forward together to define and develop important new directions in academic research. It should include the paper-reader’s name, designation, full postal address, email ID and contact number. Full paper should be in 2500 to 3000 words and it should follow all the documentation conventions specified in the 8th MLA style sheet. For English, the Paper should be in MS Word, Times New Roman fonts with font size 12, for other than English the google fonts ( Shruti / Mangal etc ) Should be used with font size of 14 Full Papers and payment details are to be uploaded on the link which will be shared in the mail regarding acceptance of abstracts.
