The F-22 Raptor is a 5th generation stealth fighter jet that provides air dominance through its very low observability stealth, supercruise speeds without afterburners, extreme maneuverability, and ability to autonomously gather and fuse intelligence from 360 degrees. It is a critical asset for securing air superiority and enabling safe joint and coalition operations. Lockheed Martin is committed to sustaining the F-22 through robust combat enhancement programs to maintain its technological advantage over emerging threats and preserve its lethality.

F-22 Raptor
Air Dominance Delivered
Defining Air Dominance Ten miles up, 100 miles around. The F-22 brings an entirely new level of fighter capabilities as it defends the skies. By integrating a wealth of different features – from stealth to supercruise – this 5th generation fighter defines air dominance.
Very Low Observable Stealth. VLO stealth enables the
Raptor to operate 24/7 over hostile areas while remaining virtually undetected by enemy air or ground forces.
Supercruise Speeds. The Raptor’s lethality and survivability are Photos on this page by katsuhiko tokunaga

The F-22 brings an additional asymmetric advantage due to its superior aerodynamic Joint Force Enabler. The F-22 provides transformational performance and ability to outmaneuver opposing forces capabilities that are essential to countering air-to-air threats through acceleration and razor-sharp turns. and defeating integrated air defenses today and for the next 30 years. This, in turn, ensures safe and effective Information Fusion. With 360-degree battlespace awareness, joint and coalition forces operations – starting on F-22 pilots can autonomously gather and fuze intelligence, Day One of a conflict. America’s Front Line of Defense The Collier Trophy-winning F-22 Raptor has consistently delivered on its promises in all of its operational exercises. The fighter has demonstrated precision attack capabilities by defeating threats in the air and on the ground through its lethality and survivability.
Operational Today. The Raptor is proven in
worldwide deployment. F-22s are flown by the Total Force. Currently, two active duty squadrons and one Air National Guard associate unit fly Raptors at Langley AFB, Va.; two active duty squadrons and one Air Force Reserve Command unit operate the aircraft at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska; one active duty and one AFRC associate squadron at Holloman AFB, N.M., fly F-22s; and one Air National Guard and one active associate squadron operate at Operational testing is conducted at Edwards AFB, Calif., with Hickam AFB, Hawaii. Raptor pilots train at Tyndall AFB, Fla., tactics development at Nellis AFB, Nev. The USAF Weapons and maintainers are trained at Sheppard AFB, Texas. School at Nellis also flies F-22s. Staying Ahead of Emerging Threats The F-22 Raptor is the world’s most dominant fighter aircraft. However, potential threats continue to emerge and proliferate worldwide, such as advancing surface-to-air and air-to-air missiles, electronic jammers, passive targeting and low- observable aircraft. This presents a rising challenge to the ability of the United States and allied air forces worldwide to gain and maintain air superiority during future conflicts.
To preserve the ability of the United States to operate
at a time and place of its choosing, it is imperative the Raptor remains on the technological leading edge. Lockheed Martin is dedicated to working with the U.S. Air Force on a robust combat enhancement program for the F-22, developing and delivering additional capabilities to preserve and enhance the Raptor’s lethality and combat effectiveness – particularly with the need to secure high ground for friendly aircraft and operate in a denied-access battlespace.

Keith Brown Combining Lockheed Martin’s experience as the original equipment manufacturer with the talent in the U.S. Air Force management, modifications and heavy maintenance, technical has proven to be a winning combination. FASTeR is a order distribution, sustaining engineering, training and performance-based logistics contract and comprehensive direct field support to the warfighter. Recent successes during weapons management program that provides the U.S. Air Force deployments and force-on-force exercises highlighted the with a highly integrated support system including supply chain ease of F-22 maintainability.
