Welfare Policy
This policy describes the welfare benefits Seafarers employed by ASM Maritime are
entitled to throughout their employment.

Welfare on board:

- All ASM vessels are equipped with the same welfare items as decided by the
company. In case equipment on board is damaged/worn out, ASM will provide
the vessel with new equipment. From time to time, ASM will upgrade the vessels
with more welfare equipment. The standard list is:

 Sony PlayStation/WI – 3 games


 DOK with movies
 smart TV – officers and ratings mess rooms, Top 4 cabins
 Tennis Table – if space allows
 Books and Magazines
 Instant coffee machines (master, CE, ECR, CCR, mess rooms)
 Board games – Chess, Carrom, Monopoly
 Stereo/Music device/karaoke -300$ budget to change to Blue tooth speakers
 Birthday presents
 Gym equipment –
o bench press (200$)
o 1 bar
o Weight set up to 100kg
o Dumbles 3 set (6, 8, 10 KG)
o 3 Yoga mat
o 2 Jump rope
o Boxing bag plus gloves
o multi exercise machine
o Rowing machine/elliptic/bicycle/treadmill

- Books, Magazines should be supplied on board based on the crew needs and
quantity on board.

The quality of the welfare equipment will be monitored through office visits and at the
beginning of the year, each vessel will send a comprehensive report including pictures
in order to create an action list in the office. The action list together with the reports will
be saved in SP.
Shore leave

- Birthdays: each crew member who has birthday on board will receive a birthday
present from the company and a free token to call his family at home.

- Seafarer’s day – Each year crew department will announce to the whole fleet
the activities and benefits during the world wide seafarer’s day.

- Christmas – Each vessel will receive a budget of 150 USD to celebrate Christmas
on board and to decorate the vessel.

Seniority gifts:

- Upon completion of 10 years seniority with ASM Maritime (status


Active/Vacation), the Seafarer will receive a watch.

- Upon completion of 20 years seniority with ASM Maritime (Status


Active/Vacation, the seafarer will receive a telescope and a bonus of 1 time basic
wages.

- Upon completion of 30 years seniority with ASM Maritime (Status


Active/Vacation, the seafarer will receive a bonus of 10 times basic wages.

Medical Insurance:

- Upon completion of 2 full contracts, officers, BSN, P/M and their families will be
enrolled in the company’s medical insurance program. Children above the age of
18 will not be included in the medical insurance.
- Ratings that over 10 years with the company (Status Active/Vacation) will also
be entitled

 This policy should be reviewed on yearly basis in order to define future needs
and evaluate the current ones.

Internet on Board:

All ASM vessels are equipped with internet on board. Crew can purchase a card for
7USD for their personal use. They can make calls and use mobile applications through
on board internet. Wi-Fi access points are installed in accommodation. Personal emails
of crew can be used free of charge.

Pension Bonus for Ratings:

Ratings going on pension will be entitled to receive a pension bonus as per below table:
