POLITICAL MAP OF AMERICA

The political situation of America is quite complex, as you will see in the charts. The entire region has been
divided into four different areas:
- North America (mainland),
- Central America,
- The Caribbean (Greater and Lesser Antilles) and
- South America.
Inside every region, you can find countries and territories. This means that there are independent
countries and an amount of varied political entities created over the years: British, French, or Dutch
overseas territories, US states, members of a Commonwealth, more or less autonomous departments, etc.
You only need to study the countries of the continent and two territories (Puerto Rico and French
Guyana), which have been already included in the countries’ list. And study the Caribbean countries which
form the Greater Antilles. They are a total of 29 countries and their capitals for the next exam, although
you might locate just the countries. For the map, use you’re the map below or an atlas if needed.
