VIRTUAL REGIONAL TRAINING OF ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM (ALS)
TEACHERS ON FILIPINO SIGN LANGUAGE (FSL)
To: Schools Division Superintendents
1. The Department of Education through the Curriculum and Learning
Management Division (CLMD) will conduct a Virtual Regional Training of
Alternative Learning System (ALS) Teachers on Filipino Sign Language (FSL) on
August 15-16, 2022, from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, via MS Teams.
2. Participants to this activity are expected to:
a. understand and learn the basic skills in Filipino Sign Language;
b. recognize the commonly used words and concepts in teaching ALS
learning strands;
c. perform different activities applying the skills and vocabularies learned;
and
d. appreciate the importance of learning Filipino Sign Language in
teaching the ALS K to 12 Curriculum.
3. Participants are the division ALS focal persons, Education Program Specialists
II in ALS (EPSAs), and ALS teachers.
4. The activity shall be done on a virtual modality, which is strictly under the
prescribed online protocols. The meeting link will be sent through the email
addresses and official group chat of the SDO ALS focal persons.
5. Enclosed is the training matrix for your reference and guidance.
6. In addition, pre-work activity will be conducted on August 9, 2022, at 3:00
pm, via MS Teams to be participated in by the Regional ALS and SPED focal persons
and the speakers.
7. The participants shall be entitled to service credits in an accordance with
DO.53, s. 2003 “Granting of Vacation Service Credits to Teachers” upon completion
and submission of required documents as stated in the order.
